Not who you’d marry. Not your favorite villager. You have to put one Pelican Town resident down as your emergency contact at work.

If something happens, HR is calling this person.

Who are you calling?

My picks:

Harvey — obvious #1. Actually answers the phone, knows your medications, has emergency-contact energy in his bones.

Robin — extremely dependable. She is finding you, calling whoever needs to be called, and probably fixing something at your house afterward.

Gus — underrated choice. Responsible, knows everybody, has probably handled seventeen emergencies behind that saloon bar.

Absolutely NOT:

Pam — unavailable for comment.

Shane — might see the missed call six hours later.

Pierre — somehow tells your employer the emergency is affecting his store.

Lewis — now your medical event is a town initiative.

Extra Hell Nah:

Marnie — caring enough, YES. Reachable enough??? HER SHOP COUNTER HAS TAUGHT ME NOT TO RELY ON HER SCHEDULE

Inconclusive:

George — not sure if he’ll hang up on HR or come scoop me with Evelyn.

I barely remember what productive things I was doing in MapleStory, but I vividly remember climbing as high as possible in places like Orbis and Ludibrium just to jump off and watch my character fall.

It took either half my HP or all of it, and somehow that did not discourage me at all.

I would land, climb all the way back up, and do it again.

No quest. No reward. No reason.

Just childhood fall-damage research.

Please tell me I wasn’t the only one using MapleStory as a falling simulator instead of leveling.
