Spent $900 and didn't get my pet.

Hi, I don't usually post, and maybe this isn't the right subreddit for something like this, but I feel like at least some of you might understand how I'm feeling.

Four months ago, I lost my job after working there for almost 12 years (the company relocated to another country). Since then, I've been struggling to find another job, or even just some way to make a living, without much luck.

Then I was diagnosed with an illness that has required several surgeries, and honestly, they haven't exactly been successful.

I'm not going to lie, my mental health hasn't been great these past few months. And one of the only things that still brought me joy was playing MapleStory. At least in this game, I could find a little bit of the happiness that was missing from my real life.

Today, I received some news that made me feel even more depressed, and coincidentally, today was also the last day of the Frieren collab.

I'm fully aware of how greedy Nexon has been with the rates, and how ridiculously difficult it was to get anything from the event shop. But I still wanted to try. I don't know... maybe my brain was desperately looking for a little serotonin in a place where it shouldn't have been looking: MapleStory's Cash Shop.

So I rolled. And rolled. And kept rolling, hoping to get the vac pet.

I never got it.

By the time I stopped, I had spent over $900. (For context, I'm from Mexico, and $900 USD is not a small amount of money here. It's almost an average monthly salary in my country).

And honestly, I don't even know why, but I just broke down crying. Maybe it's because I haven't had any good news in months, and I just wanted to experience one little moment of happiness. Or I don't know... maybe I just lost my mind.

I know you guys aren't here to read something like this, and I'm not even looking for sympathy. I just wanted to share that today was the day MapleStory stopped being my safe place.

And the saddest part is that I did it to myself.

Designer points back to 0

The fact the points reset to 0 every week regardless if you ranked up is CRAZY. All the time you spent AFK or playing the mini game is just lost unless you hit the cap.

The game truly does not respect our time.

No other modern game works this way, in fact I was genuinely surprised no one is talking about this. I assume this is because everyone is busy playing classic.

In a world where modern MMOs have rest exp and catch up mechanics we deserve better in MapleStory.

I don't think this post by itself will change anything but I'd love for us to start a discussion and hopefully get change in the future.

Week 1 Go Go Sidekick: How many frags did you get?

Week 1 is in the books and I want to know: How many frags did you manage to pull?

I have the feeling I was more on the unlucky side of this. 3 S-Rank sidekicks in grinding through 70 tries, but silver lining is I managed to see wave 10 twice and happily settled at:

250/250/225.

Violet Cube question

So, I know with Violet Cubes you get to pick from 4/6 lines of potential. What if you don't like any of the lines you get? Can you just X out of the window or re-roll and keep what potential you originally had?

Maplefest update

30 minute concert and even less events planned than last year. The Japan concert was almost 2 hours long. I get it not being as long as that, but with the tickets being doubled over last year already I figured they actually would put some value into this concert.

Maple Classic has been amazing so far.

Servers were only unavailable for a few hours, after which everything was smooth as butter. No lag spikes, no disconnects, I was honestly really impressed.

Servers are absolutely PACKED right now, definitely gonna need some more channels. But honestly it has been insane seeing so many people vibing out and playing together while fighting over slime bubbles. Can’t wait to get off work and get back to the grind.

Worth the 60 bucks. Doomers gonna doom.

Founder's pack not activating

My dumb self purchased the Zakum Founder's pack yesterday, the day of launch.
There was some issue with connecting to the site but I fought it a bit and managed to check out. However, I now have two charges listed for $83.59 but no access to the game.
I have a ticket open with Nexon support but they haven't responded so far.

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issue and how long does it normally take support to respond? Paying (TWICE) for early access without getting the early access is kinda wild.

[Interactive] Violet Cube

There is Violet Cube sale on Interactive today. However, I am not sure if it is a good purchase to even try it out as it is my first time seeing this cube.

The goal is to cube WSE to get as many Attack% lines as possible as my main is a Bow Master.

My current WSE sucks as I have only 3 out of 9 main potentials as Attack% (1 Attack% per equipment). I have libed Genesis Bow, Frozen Secondary, and Maple Leaf Emblem.

Note that, I am an interactive player and I use Auction House for trading.

The Violet Cube sale is 90,000NX which is roughly 22.5B Mesos at current conversion rate of 400.

Then the question is that if I have 22.5B Mesos at hand, is it just a better approach to buy from Auction House for pre-cubed equipments (PNo and Mitra)? Or it is better to cube the item myself?

What do people feel from their past experience?
