Hello fellow mousepad conniseurs,

the title might be a bit hyperbolic but hear me out.

I have bought and used more than 30 different glass mousepad models so far and of some of these I had multiple units for testing purposes.

The problem with glass is that unlike cloth the surface is never 100% identical. Companies can come close depending on how much they pay extra for quality control but that´s about it. The VA-005 for example had some really slow and some extremely fast units while the reference point is only slightly faster than the SP-005. The SP-005 does not have that big of a gap between fast and slow units but a rather big gap in the friction profile with some units having way too much static friction. So as you can see, consistency can be an issue.

Now there is the GLSSWRKS Polarity. Made from glanova^(®) glass which is harder than the standard soda lime most companies use. A coated mousepad with the promise of a balanced friction profile and constant restocks. Almost too good to be true.

I went and bought not only one but five Polarity from different batches and even one review sample to compare the different units friction profiles and overall QC.

Versions I owned:
- L size white (review sample)
- L size white (retail unit)
- L size black (retail unit)
- XL size black (retail unit)
- XL size white (retail unit)

Surprisingly all of my units have been near identical with the white ones being a tad smoother than the black ones but overall the friction profile was the same. They all had the absolute same coating, same behavior across different skate materials and they all reacted the same to water. This doesn´t sound as impressive as it actually is and only the LaOnda Glaze had this level of quality control before.

I´ve talked about the friction profile a lot now but what is the glide like?
The Polarity has decently low static friction, just enough to ensure tug free micro corrections but enough to make it easy to stop the mouse.
The Dynamic friction is on the low medium end and helps guiding the mouse but not forcing it a certain way, compared to a pad like the Superglide V3, that has quite high dynamic friction. There is no vertical to horizontal imbalance and the omnidirectional friction is perfectly balanced. The surface texture creates just enough feedback to always give you an idea of where you´re moving your mouse.

The Polarity is one of the few pads that is highly skate sensitive so you can fine tune the glide by using different dot skates. The overall speed can vary from really fast with virgin ptfe skates to decently controlled and even great for tac fps using U9 Air UHMW-PE skates.

Not everything is perfect though. between 5% and 10% of the white units are estimated to cause tracking issues when used with 3950 sensor mice. Personally I have not experienced this but Tekkusai has confirmed this on discord. The reason for this seems to be that some of the white units on the lowest end of the allowed tolerances were a bit too smooth and the glass too clear for the sensor to track properly on parts of the surface. For this reason the white unit has been on a release hiatus until the issue is solve. They already made a more greyish white model that is currently in the testing phase. Unfortunately I could not get one of the new white review samples 😞 With this being said, all of my white ones were flawless on high LOD across multiple sensors and mice.

Now is the polarity the best glass pad? Probably not because it will never surpass a pure speed pad in speed nor a control pad in friction but it excells in what it´s promising: Balance. This glass mousepad is the Artisan Zero of glass pads. You can play everything on it and you can tune the glide enough with dot skates to make it feel like a different pad. To me this makes it the overall best glass pad to main in 2026.

PMM Zen Mini 2.0 vs Zen Mini - The best Viper just got better

Hello fellow mouse conniseurs,

I though you would like to have a review about the PMM Zen Mini 2.0, the best Viper V3 Pro mod in my opinion and probably a better upgrade to an already great mouse than the Viper V4 Pro.

First things first, I bought this mod with my own money and my opinions are my own.

There are two sizes to choose from when considering the mod - the Zen and Zen Mini - with the mini being about 5% smaller than a regular VV3 Pro iirc. You can also buy this mouse fully assembled with customization options like a custom magnesium scroll wheel and the great Ultragrip 3.0 ceramic coating. My review is about the mod kit for the Zen Mini 2.0 with Ultragrip 3.0 coating and white magnesium scrollwheel.

What´s in the box?

- The Zen mouse shell
- (optional) The magnesium scroll wheel
- All the tools you need, from screw drivers to tweezers
- A tiny case for the screws
- 150 mAh battery for reduced weight
- Black adhesive tape battery cover
- Superglue
- Sandpaper to even out the mouse feet if needed
- PMM Smoothies (dot skates)
- PMM Ultrathin (grip tape)
- Instruction card with QRcode that leads to a landing page with video instructions
- Most importantly: Haribo gummy bears

so all in all the same as in the Zen Mini 1.0 box.

Zen Mini 2.0 shell vs Zen Mini 1.0
The new zen Mini doesn´t have a full shell and neither an open sides version anymore. I think this is fine because solid sides + open hump is peak but you had these options on the V1. They also removed the option to select the amount of carbon rods and the V2 always comes with 2 rods for perfect shell integrity. The cut outs on the main buttons are gone and the remaining cut outs on the back are bigger but a lot more rigit. The new shell is built like a tank and I can´t push the hump in, on the V1 I could do this. The Ultragrip 3.0 coating looks and feels smoother and is very grippy but not rubberized at all. I prefer this over any rubberized coating. The shell is about 2 gramms lighter than the old one.

Custom scroll wheel
The magnesium scroll wheel comes with the same texture as the one that I had in the Zen Mini 1.0 already but they added a new color - white. Looks way too good to skip. The wheel is grippy due to the texture and feels cool to the touch. On the V1 I had some issues with the scroll wheel being too lose but that was due to tolerances on razer side and was fixed by using another main button pcb. This time it fit in perfectly and works like the stock one.

Assembly
The assembly is pretty easy but you need to be careful with the ribbon cable. This is my 4th Zen mod so I have a bit of practice but on my 1st Zen mod I broke the ribbon connector on the main button PCB. Fortunately PMM got me covered and the support team sent out a new one. This won´t be an issue if you take your time though. Also adhere to the instructions and use the right screws. You need 4 small screws with the pointy tip and 2 small ones for the main PCB with flat tip. So without going into detail the steps boil down to:

- Wrap and insert Battery (stock or small one, I chose stock)
- Insert button spacers, main switch PCB, tune clicks and finish this step by inserting the screws
- carefully insert side button pcb
- Insert 1st carbon fiber rod (this might take some force 😄)
- Insert main pcb
- Add second carbon rod
- Insert bridge
- Connect the battery
- (optional) sand the spots where the dot skates go in case your mouse doesn´t sit flat on the mousepad

Easy, right? To add an observation from my side: press the side walls in with a bit of force before screwing in the bridge on the bottom so the carbon rods slide in fully.

Summary
The Zen Mini 2.0 is a great successor to an already goated mod. PMM improved weight, shell rigidity and even added solid sides as a default option. Great choice. Assembly is as easy as before and the box comes with everything you need. In my opinion this is a better upgrade to the VV3 Pro than a VV4 pro would be so think twice if you already have a VV3 Pro and consider an upgrade. The Zen Mini performance will not be impacted by the mod and there are no tracking issues etc. since the sensor distance seems to be the same. I love the smaller viper shape and imo this mod kit is a way better purchase than the ATK Ghost extreme or similar clones if you want a smaller VV3 Pro.

Thank you for making it until here.

Zaunkoenig M3K experience in 2026

Since there is not a lot if recent info out there about this mouse I decided to do a quick summary of the mouse and my buying experience.

I bought this mouse with my own money and it was shipped at the same day that I ordered. Zaunkoenig had a bad track record with shipping times and they worked around that by dropping smaller batches of 30 units per month. There were some units of the April drop left and I decided to get one.

The unboxing experience is great. You open a box and will be greeted with a letter, a second, unsoldered pcb and another box. pretty cool to inspect this masterpiece of engineering without unscrewing the pcb.

In the aluminium Box there it is. The M3K. It looks stunning and absolutely worth the price. The material feels grippy, textured and chalky to the touch and there is not the slightest sign of bending, flexing or anything like this. It‘s built like a tank. The main buttons are well tuned. No pretravel, super light and spammable switches. Exactly what a fingertip mouse needs. The shape feels a bit like a cut in half Beast X. The scrollwheel is made from magnesium and coated with ceramic. It feels almost identical to the PMM Ultragrip 3.0. Truely a masterpiece.

I haven’t spent a lot of time with this mouse yet but I got a new PB in 1Wall2Targets and the surface finish stays grippy no matter if your fingers get sweaty. Performance is top tier and the cable is flexible enough so I don‘t feel the need to use a bungee. I have used plenty of fingertip mice and thought that nothing will beat the Fenrir Asym but the M3K feels a lot better. It costs almost twice as much though but you can only use one mouse at a time anyways and the switches as well as the scroll wheel on this one are a lot better.

I will soon compare it to the PMM CYBER OP mod once it drops but I‘m pretty confident that I will be maining the M3K for a while now.

Arbiter Studio has released a 3D printed mouse display and it‘s so cool that I deserves a quick review.

Price:

There are two different versions in 4 different color combinations that range from $22.99 to $24.99. The difference seems to be the texture of the drawer. I have the „youth“ option.

What‘s in the box?

You get the base of the mouse display, including the drawer, screws, a screw driver and the translucent panels as well as side holders that slide into the base. It‘s missing a manual but let‘s be real it‘s easy to build and they have a video on the product page.

Quality:

Even though it‘s 3D printed the base feels heavy and sturdy. The drawer slides in and out and is locked in place with a clip. It features enough space for a dongle and a cable. The acrylic glass panel feels sturdy and well made once it‘s built. The screws are high quality. The acrylic glass box locks into place with magnets . Really cool.

You also have the option to mount a panel on the top side that leaves enough space for a cable so you can charge it while the display is closed.

Summary

A great looking display that‘s easy to build, well made and doesn‘t use a lot of space. It is designed with a lot of attention to detail and protects your mice from dust while you don‘t use them. The drawer is a god send and keeps all your stuff together. The price is a bit high but in my opinion it‘s worth it and I would buy it again.

So since WLMOUSE has announced a full shell version of my beloved magnesium mouse I thought I’ll honor it with a review on this sub.

Packaging:

The mouse comes in a nice black box with a case inside. In the case there is a micro dongle, the cat dongle, cable, some additional skates and grips as well as the mouse.

Dongle:

As mentioned above you get two dongles. The 8K cat dongle and a 1k USB-A micro dongle. The cat eyes glow at all times and unfortunately there is no way of turning these off if you shut down your pc but you can completely turn off the lighting in the web driver. Polling rates are stable, as tested in the Razer Polling Rate Testing Tool.

The Mouse:

The Beast X Pro is a ~40g medium sized mouse with relatively flat sides that flare out to the back and slightly to the front. The hump is relatively low and offers a lot of mobility but doesn‘t compromise on stability. Even though there are big cut outs in the shell there is absolutely zero flex, creaking or bending. The mouse is built like a tank. The base is perfectly flat and there is not even the slightest wobble on glass pads. This is consistent across all 3 of my units. Side button placement is perfect and the shape supports a variety of grip styles from fingertip to claw grip. I mainly use ftip-claw hybrid.

Coating:

The mouse is grippy and actually feels similar to matte automotive coatings. Very durable and doesn‘t yellow.

Buttons:

The main buttons have comfort groves and the click feel is consistent across all of the button. I have two units with Omron opticals and one with TTC Nihil. The implementations of the Omrons in this mouse are flawless and since the magnesium doesn‘t flex or bend the click feeling is insanely satisfying. The tuning is light and spammable. The TTC Nihil are mechanical switches and are a bit harder to press but feel snappy and crisp. Can‘t go wrong with either but I prefer the Omrons. There is almost no pre and post travel on either mouse. The side button placement is perfect for my grip style and the switches feel sharp and clean. Almost no pre and post travel.

Performance and battery life:

Performance on the current firmware is flawless. No spikes, the polling rate is stable and tracking feels perfect on any surface. Since the mouse is still using the Nordic RF52840 MCU you can only expect about 8 hours of battery life on 8k 1600dpi+ in high performance mode. you get about 25 hours at 2k though.

Webdriver:

The web driver got reworked several times and is easy to use with all texts translated to proper english. It features sensor rotation, various performance settings, dpi, polling rate and everything you would expect. Firmware updating is easy and the site tells you exactly what to do. In case the mouse is losing connection after firmware update you can simply disconnect the dongle, press LMB, RMB and MB3 together for 5 seconds and reconnect the dongle.

In the web driver you can change the color of the RGB of your dongle or turn it off entirely.

Who is this mouse for?

If you‘re looking for a medium sized, lightweight, premium feeling mouse with great quality control and good performance look no further. This is one of the best feeling mice one can buy and you won‘t have to attend the QC lottery like with the competitor product.
