What holiday does it say on your signs for Monday?

Deadass my bank has signs saying that we'll be closed for "The Legal Holiday" on Monday.

Last year we were sent 2 different signs saying either Columbus Day or Indigenous Peoples' Day.

Is this something that was required federally somehow or is my bank in particular being weird 💀

Hey, they know what they want!

Never had a remote trade where someone was so direct with what they wanted LOL

I got a Stonjourner in exchange, as someone who's never been to Europe I think its worth it :)

Is closing and reopening credit cards for interest rates really worth it in regards to credit score?

Just a general question.

I'm a banker, and we currently have a promotion where a certain credit card offers 0 interest for 21 months. Which like, yea ok, cool, but then I overheard a coworker state that something a client can do is close the credit card once the 21 months is over, and then see what promotions are offered and apply for another one.

I was under the impression that closing and reopening credit lines like that can fuck your credit score, but frankly I don't know as much about credit as I should. Maybe the 21 months is long enough to avoid consequence? Idk. This is a relatively new promotion, the one before offered no interest for 12 months and some points or whatever. Is doing something like this really worth it in the long run?

Clients can be so disgusting.

So yesterday a client comes in 10 minutes before closing, because of course he does, and doesnt even wait to be called before he marches to my desk saying he needs a new debit card. My biggest pet peeve when I'm a banker is clients not waiting to be called and immediately approaching my desk. Great, I'm already annoyed but debit cards are relatively quick and I just want the day to be over.

He sits down, I let him know he has a negative balance but he scoffs and says the bank wont do anything about it, hes got a social security deposit coming in on the 3rd and he knows what hes doing. Sure pal, youre over 700 dollars in the negative with like 10 fees tacked on your account, but you know whay you're doing. Its your account, I guess.

Then as I'm ordering the card, I see out of the corner of my eye that hes making a movement under the table. Hes moving his arm and hand back and forth rapidly in a certain way while staring at me. I couldnt quite confirm whether his hand was actually in his pants or not because that would actually require me to look at what's happening, but you get the idea.

I'm actually kinda relieved I shut down at that moment, because other times I've been sexually harassed I usually responded with fear. At that point I was about 60% done with the whole thing and I just really wanted the whole day to be over with so I just went and grabbed the card, remained perfectly neutral throughout the rest of the transaction. Once he left I was really pissed off, like slamming my documents down type pissed, but again, day was almost over and I just wanted to leave.

Its the 1st so we've been busy as fuck, havent had a chance to speak with my manager. Not exactly sure what the procedure is but figured its better to say something 🤷‍♀️

I'm so sick of sales. Where can I use my experience after I quit? Where did you guys go after quitting front end?

It sucks because I genuinely like the processes associated with being a teller/banker, knowing back end stuff, how the programs work, and my coworkers overall. I'm good at retaining that information and the more technological stuff involved, unlike some of my older coworkers. But ever since I took the relationship banker position I realized I fucking hate sales, no way around it. I'm not good at small talk, and I'm worse at small talk in Spanish, which is a problem in my region. I've been doing enough to keep myself above water, so I'm not at risk of being fired or anything, and there's definitely worse bankers in my market. Thing is, I just had my 4 year anniversary here at the bank and even the idea of reaching year 5 is so draining to me. I'm hopefully (finally) getting my Associate's in Accounting this fall, but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to find an accounting job with just that. A lot of the ones I've seen require a Bachelor's and/or a 3.0+ GPA, which I admittedly do not have. I could definitely raise my GPA, but that would require more time in school, which kinda correlates to more time at my job because I don't want to just throw myself into unemployment without a solid plan. It's stupid too because the bank is paying for my classes, it's just that I don't want to be in sales anymore. Should I just stay and torture myself for one more year? How were you guys able to negotiate your teller/banker experience?

Debating on spending coins on remote raid pass for a Registeel. The game answered for me!

I'm doing my best to save coins to get raid passes for GoFest, and I really didn't want to buy any more coins if I didn't have to (mostly f2p, though I'm not above the 0.99 coin purchase at times 😓) and I was just gonna decide to not get the pass for the Registeel, because I don't want it THAT badly. So thank you random chance, I haven't seen anything aside from a Sinnoh stone in weeks!
