[TX] 1 child, 50/50 custody, agree upon everything. Will the judge agree with us?
Long story short, we have been separated for years. We lived in CA our whole lives. Originally tried divorcing in 2020 but COVID screwed everything up. Living in the most expensive part of the state, we could not afford an attorney. But we filed again early last year, but it’s been a headache with no help from the court. since then, we all decided to move to Texas, and filed to have the case dropped.
We now live in a small county and plan on filing again soon. We already have a notarized agreement that lists out our schedule, healthcare, and child support which I pay 250$.
What concerns me is the child support, I am a disabled veteran and only make so much. But according to these calculators I should be paying 800$ which is honestly ridiculous. My ex wife has a significant other and another child now, but works part time.
I just want to mentally prepare for this endeavor and what I should be expecting from a judge. Will he honor our long standing agreement or is he more likely to throw it out?
