Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation.

I was born a natural-born Filipino, but lost my Philippine citizenship at the age of 5 after becoming an Austrian citizen through my parents' naturalization.

I'm now planning to move to the Philippines permanently and I'm trying to decide which option makes more sense:

• Apply for a 13G Non-Quota Immigrant Visa as a former natural-born Filipino, or
• Apply for an Austrian retention permit (Beibehaltungsgenehmigung) first, then reacquire Philippine citizenship under RA 9225.

I currently have Balikbayan status, a voluntary ACR I-Card, a PSA birth certificate, Barangay Certificate, Postal ID, and a Philippine bank account.

Has anyone gone through either process? Which option would you recommend, and why? I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences.

Ich bin als natural-born Filipino geboren, habe jedoch als Kind (mit 5 Jahren) durch die Einbürgerung in Österreich die philippinische Staatsbürgerschaft verloren. Heute möchte ich meinen Lebensmittelpunkt dauerhaft auf die Philippinen verlegen.

Nun frage ich mich, welcher Weg langfristig sinnvoller ist:

• eine Beibehaltungsgenehmigung in Österreich beantragen und anschließend die philippinische Staatsbürgerschaft nach RA 9225 wiedererlangen, oder
• einfach das 13G-Visum als former natural-born Filipino beantragen.

Zurzeit habe ich bereits Balikbayan-Status, eine voluntary ACR I-Card, eine PSA-Geburtsurkunde, Barangay Certificate, Postal ID sowie ein philippinisches Bankkonto.

Hat jemand selber Erfahrungen mit dem sammeln können?
