Tuna Pasta Salad Seasoned with Penzey’s Spices

This turned out great. I cooked up maybe 1 1/2 cups pasta (rinsed at the end to cool) and added in a can of tuna, some mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, salt and black pepper, as well as Penzey’s Justice seasoning blend and Penzey’s Green Goddess seasoning blend. I used the leftover veggies I had on hand and that included one carrot (grated), 1/2 a red bell pepper (diced), and a handful of cherry tomatoes (cut in half). Would be great with lots of other veggies depending upon what you may have on hand.

Two patterns in one sock

Last week I posted a pair of socks and I mentioned that I really liked working the Shadow Wrap Heel. Many folks discussed the pros and cons of the heel. u/medium_green_enigma mentioned a pattern called “Up and Down Vanilla Swirl” that includes a Shadow Wrap Heel it adds in a mini-gusset to help the Shadow Wrap Heel fit a bit better. So I tried that out in this pair of socks and I really liked working this heel. The cuff is from a pattern called Bremen Muster. Both the Bremen Muster pattern and the Up and Down Vanilla Swirl pattern are available for free on Ravelry. The yarn in my socks is Greenwood Fiberworks Simply Sock in the colorway Topaz.

For these socks, I used leftover quantities of orange, pink, and blue yarns for the pop of color at the cuffs, heels, and toes. The “zebra” yarn comes from Urth Yarns, Uneek Sock Kit. Just a plain stockinette sock with a shadow wrap heel which I learned on YouTube from “Earthtones Girl” podcast.

Greetings from the Sonoran Desert. 🌵 I feel so privileged to live here and witness the saguaros in bloom and I wanted to share it with fellow cactus enthusiasts. So many critters enjoy visiting these short lived blooms. In the second photo, if you look toward the top of the photo, you can see a prickly pear cactus growing on top of the saguaro.
