Perfume with these vibes (but not the smell)

I want something with the corpse flower vibes, but not to smell like hot garbage and rotting fish.

It should be magnificent, once in a life time, total showstopper, incredible experience but ultimately there is something deeply unsettling that you cannot get past.

Like the experience of viewing the corpse flower (or what I imagine it to be as I’ve never seen one live) for the first time, you stand afar and are completely amazed by its beauty, you watch it in awe as it opens up, you ponder your own existence for a few minutes and then the smell hits you and you’re back on earth and don’t understand how something so majestic can smell so awful. You cannot let it go, you get closer to admire it but you’re conflicted because of the different stimuli you’re getting from your senses. You then leave and cannot stop thinking about it because it intrigued you and you know you’ll most likely never experience it again.

HOT TAKE hot guy is hot, I WILL FIGHT YOU

Hot take but Divergent era Theo James was the OG Shadow daddy😩🤌

I saw *Divergent* a while ago and was literally in a chokehold by this guy. Theo James played the heck out of that character man. Four as a character was **sooo damn fine**. When I saw him, he seemed so Xaden and Rhysand-coded to me. The way he carried himself, his screen presence… my god, that level of aura is unmatched😩🤌.

I’ve seen many people fight over casting of romantasy book adaptations, but this guy right here fits almost all shadow daddies. And when you look at him, you can’t deny that he is THE MMC. Theo James did such a great job here. The only reason I watched all those movies was him🤧. He was the OG morally grey MMC before this was even a thing. He doesn't need to fit the standards, he IS the standard!!

Whenever I’m reading a romantasy with a morally grey MMC, I can’t help but imagine him as that guy. The way he acted fits most of the MMCs easily, especially Xaden. What are your thoughts on this? Because according to me, this was the closest an actor could come to playing a romantasy MMC and nail it so well. I wish this man was in his prime so we could have him in adaptations😩.

Men reading?

Dear sloopies,

I’m used to seeing women read but I was shocked to find out how many men also read! Who knew they were capable of such thing.

If you’re a man, and you are capable of reading this post, I’d love to know your thoughts on my amazement of your talents. I’ve always been curious about what men experience and think when their hollow eyes glide along a page. Like, are you thinking about the Roman Empire the whole time, wishing you didn’t have to read?

Yours faithfully,

A woman

mAtUrE rOmAnTaSy only plz

Dear sloopies,

I’m looking for some book recommendations with MATURE FMC and MMC. I just read QUICKSILVER and whilst it was amazing it was also really stupid, but I had to push through. I had a huge issue with both the main characters because they were so stubborn and childish. I’m looking for something with more depth, a great world, and somehow a realistic relationship (yes, I know this is fiction and most of it is not real but I believe communication/dialogue in books can be grounded.)

I have a few books on my TBR/radar that could be whatever you recommend so I just wanna be steered in the right direction rather than killing my brain cells.

Yours faithfully,

Advanced mature reader

No men zone

Sloopies, I don’t know about you but I’m sick and tired of all these men’s posts.

Like if they’re going to manspread all over the internet, can they at least STFU about it?

No one cares you have testicles, just lurk in the dark like a good boi and don’t get involved 🙅‍♀️

Thank you for coming to my ted talk

PS any recs for a big bad dominant MMC that will put me in my place? No faery schlongs though, the wings creep me out

Looking for a book like this

I just like how strong they are and how carefully they handle the churros.

Can you recommend an MMC with big strong veiny forearms pls?

Aunt Estee and the color of her eyes

Minor Spoiler for latest episode below

Did anyone else think the scene where Aunt Estee is crying and apologising for not being able to protect Daisy was not really ‘wow her eyes are so blue it’s easy to forget aunts are people’ but to point out her eyes are similar blue to Daisy’s?

It’s a very minor detail and on its own I would probably dismiss it but there is something about her admitting she was the original pearl girl.

Could Daisy and Aunt Estee be related?
Could it be something else?

My money is on us getting an episode with her back story later this season where some connection to mayday will be revealed

On my third re-read and have some questions about dragons

Spoilers for all books below, don’t read if you don’t want to be spoiled.

I’m actually wondering about >!wyvern!<, not dragons, where exactly do their bodies come from?

We know a rune is used to create >!wyvern!< but does the body just ✨magically✨ appear out of thin air?

There is a theory that when >!Brennan!< was dying, >!Naolin!< channeled form the ground and turned venin. Because of the weirdly shaped >!Brennans scar!< some people suspect he was saved by >!Naolin!< with a rune and that left the scar. We also know these runes are used to animate and control the creatures they are used on, so could that mean >!Brennan is under Naolin’s control!< and doesn’t have free will?

Ok, now back to my question. >!we know wyvern drop dead if their venin creator is killed, we also know their bodies remain somehow intact after death, as shown when Xaden is hunting wyvern down to leave their corpses at the border. But even in a magical universe, they have to originate from somewhere. What if genuine dragon shells are needed to create wyvern bodies because they contain magic and then the runes are used to bring them to life?!< Imagine the implications of that given the cliffhanger at the end of onyx storm.

Either way, what do you think is the connection between !>wyvern and Brennan!< and do you think he shares their hive mind? Could he be helping Xaden to >!create more wyvern?!<
