What’s the most boring thing you own that has lasted for 20+ years?

We usually talk about impressive tools, watches, cookware, and other expensive BIFL stuff, but I’m more curious about the boring everyday things.

What’s something you’ve owned for 20+ years that still works perfectly?

It could be anything from a kitchen utensil to a desk lamp, backpack, tool, piece of furniture, or even something you completely forgot you owned until you realized it was still going strong.

What makes it so durable?

If toddlers ran the world, what would be the first new law?

I'll start:

  • Snacks every 15 minutes.
  • Bedtime is illegal.
  • Every rock, stick, and cardboard box is considered valuable property.

What laws do you think toddlers would come up with?

What's a toddler phase that felt like it would never end, but eventually did?

I'm curious what phase had you thinking, "This is just my life now," only for your toddler to suddenly move on from it.

It could be refusing certain foods, waking up at odd hours, saying "no" to everything, wanting the same book every night, or anything else.

Sometimes it's hard to remember that these stages are temporary, so I'd love to hear what your toddler eventually grew out of and about how long it took.
