I learned from speaking to a former colleague from Dominica that Belizeans don't seem to respect personal space to the extent that people from other Caribbean countries would find comfortable.

For example, she says people in the check-out line at the supermarket are directly behind one another, whereas in Dominica and other islands they would space themselves out more.

Obviously she's just one sample, but I've heard similar comments from other people from other countries.

What's normal for your country that would get you a funny look somewhere else in the region?
