Disneyland Characters

Howdy! My husband and I are not exactly new to Disney. We have been to Disney World a handful of times. We are headed to CA this summer for our second trip to Disneyland, but we haven't been since 2016, and when we went we were child-less and could not have cared less about character experiences. This time we are bringing our 3 year old! The last time he went to WDW, he was 17 months and we just did a Mickey meet and greet in Magic Kingdom.

This time, I'm not sure what the best choice would be - character dining or a specific experience. My husband has already said no to doing any character dining at breakfast because the cost isn't worth a basic breakfast buffet, but we are open to dinner. The problem is, according to what I'm finding online, it seems none of the dinner character dining options (Storyteller's Cafe or Goofy's Kitchen) will have Mickey, because Storyteller's Cafe becomes Donald's at dinner.

Any tips? Is it hard to get into the character meets at DL? We waited maybe 5 minutes with a lightning lane at WDW but we also made it one of the last things we did because it was one of those "if we get to, great, if we don't, oh well" but I don't think that'll fly as much with a 3 year old.

Council Job - Community Recruiter

Hoping someone in here is maybe a council employee and can give me some advice!

Every office in my local council (of which I live sort of on the outskirts of) is looking for 2 Community Recruiters for the summer. Part-time, temp/seasonal. There’s only one office I could work for, as the rest are all at least 1-2 hours away from me. I live in one of the towns listed as a key location for recruitment for this particular office.

I am a teacher so I’m not terribly busy in the summer anyway. I haven’t been involved with this council ever, I moved here in 2014 for college and now live and work here, but pre-2014 I was heavily involved with the council I grew up in. I tried to include all my Girl Scout pertinent information in my application, but I think it overrode where I uploaded my resume (meaning they don’t know I’m a teacher) and forgot something.

Should I email someone at my local council with a follow up? Or should I let it go? I was taught in HS/College that you never, ever contact an employer about a job other than to apply, but my mom and dad are both in positions in their industries (unrelated to both scouting and teaching) where they do hiring and both agree that persistence is key.

Would it be weird or annoying? If I do email, who should I direct it to? Human resources? Or try to find someone who seems to be directly over recruitment/the position?
