Small rant but needed
I've worked at 2 pubs in just about over a year. Recently transferred to my second pub and I'm honestly kinda aghast?
Yesterday I had an interaction with a member of kitchen management who was doing dough defrost at 7pm, the sticker he wrote out said 11pm, obviously red flag one.
I walked around to collect potwash because I'm usually relied on to get through potwash as I'm relatively fast at it compared to others and a dough ball was dropped on the floor. Naturally I put it in the bin, and was promptly shouted at by the manager, told to grow up when I argued back. And when he threw a second one in the tray and bounced out had a go at me and told me "don't you dare put it in the bin. Put it in the tray"
Like what do you mean I have to put dough from the floor into the defrost tray??
Am I going insane?? Is it suddenly okay to put food from the floor in trays? There is so much this pub does wrong and I dislike it but don't have a leg to stand on for recommending changes as I've naturally not worked here long enough 😔
Sorry rant over
