2+ Months Postpartum and My C-Section Wound Is STILL Leaking Fluid - Anyone Else Been Through This?

I'm honestly at my limit with my C-section wound and wondering if anyone else has been through something similar.

I'm now more than 2 months postpartum and my incision is STILL leaking a small amount of fluid.

It all started with a seroma after the C-section. The hospital opened part of the wound further to let it heal by secondary intention (basically leaving it partially open so it heals from the inside out). I was given co-amoxiclav even though there wasn't a confirmed infection at the time. Eventually the seroma disappeared and ultrasound confirmed it was gone.

Then things got weird:

new little holes opened in different parts of the incision.

I got a Group B Strep wound infection and took erythromycin.

Now I've had E. coli cultured from the wound and took amoxicillin.

At this point I've had:

- 6 hospital visits

- 3 private appointments

- 2 ultrasounds

- 2 GP appointments

I seriously cannot take this anymore mentally.

The amount of fluid coming out now is small, but it's STILL happening. I'm planning to repeat a swab soon to see whether the E. coli is still there.

Current wound care:

- Flaminal Forte (an enzyme alginate gel used to support wound healing and manage bacteria/moisture)

- Aquacel (a hydrofiber dressing that absorbs wound fluid and helps maintain a healina environment)

- silicone dressing/tape over the incision (Mepilex)

Has anyone had a C-section wound that took this insanely long to stop draining? Did it eventually resolve? I feel like this has completely taken over my postpartum experience.

MN1 - how do they take baby (newborn) biometrics?

We made an appointment for this week to take baby's biometrics with TLS. She is 2 months old. Will they take her baby little fingerprints and take picture with me holding her?

Any experience?

ILR granted today - been asked for newborn's missing application

Hi all,

I'm finally relieved we have been granted ILR!

Priority. We did biometrics last Saturday. Today (Tuesday) I received an email in the morning asking for clarification for my newborn not applying. Replied we are waiting for ILR to progress with MN1 for child. They confirmed ILR for us after a couple hours.

Any questions welcome.

Hi all,

Do you think it is OK to have two work colleagues of the father as referees? They are managers in a VAT registered company, IT engineers. Can't find this specific occupation on the list.

Any suggestion is well accepted e.g. should one of them use the company email? What do we write in th cover letter .. etc

Thanks

Hi.

Has anyone else experienced excessive movement on the Nuna TRIV next handle/chassis after only light use?

I’m not referring to side-to-side flex. The issue is that the whole handle and upper frame now shift forwards and backwards with a noticeable “clunk”/bump feeling while pushing the stroller, almost as if there is play somewhere in the folding joint or chassis lock mechanism.

Because of this, every small uneven surface transfers a bump/jolt through the frame rather than feeling solid and stable.

I understand some movement may be normal due to the folding mechanism, but this feels far more pronounced than the display models I tested in store before purchasing.

Just wondering if others have experienced the same thing and whether Nuna considered it normal or replaced the frame under warranty.

Reseller says it's normal but I'm really not convinced.

Hi all,

I just had a baby from c section, I'm mixed feeding her. I've also been under the sun without protection, but I never got an irritation from it. I just finished a course of eritromicin for c section wound strep b infection.

The only new product I'm using is Milton bottle washing liquid.

For the rest I am using the same things, castille soap on hands and clothes (sodium percarbonate as additive) and fragrance free shampoo and body wash.

First time I get this.

It's not getting better, it's dry and very mildly itchy (not always itchy).

Thanks for any advice
