OSE Mage Class from my own setting — Learned, Non-Vancian Magic

I've been working on a custom Mage class for my OSE campaign and wanted to share it here for feedback.

https://wurtz-brew.itch.io/ose-custom-mage

The main goal was to create a Mage based around learned, non-Vancian magic, while also making them capable of contributing directly to combat with a sword.

The intended trade-off is the core of the class: do I spend the next several rounds casting a powerful spell, or do I draw my sword and fight? A first-level spell is relatively easy to fit into combat, while a high-level spell can require several rounds of uninterrupted casting. The Mage therefore isn't simply a weaker Fighter who happens to have spells—they have to constantly decide whether their magical knowledge is worth giving up their ability to act in the immediate fight.

Outside of combat, the class is heavily focused on acquiring and researching magic rather than receiving spells automatically through level advancement.

I'm particularly interested in feedback on the balance of the casting system and the semi-martial aspect of the class, and whether it still feels appropriately OSE/BX despite the changes.

Looking for a roleplay-focused Wabbajack list with survival and build flexibility

Hey, all!

I'm looking for a Skyrim Wabbajack list and I'm struggling to find the right balance.

What I'm looking for:

  • Strong roleplay support
  • Survival mechanics
  • Slow progression
  • Lots of quest content
  • Good companion mods
  • Immersive world and exploration
  • Long playthroughs (100+ hours)
  • Character-driven storytelling

Most importantly, I like characters that evolve over time. I don't enjoy being locked into the exact build I chose at level 1. I want to be able to change my focus, discover new interests, join different factions, and have my gameplay reflect my character's story.

What I'm not looking for:

  • Excessive NSFW content
  • Extremely rigid progression systems
  • Heavy grinding
  • Modlists that require a lot of manual setup or maintenance
  • Lists where respecializing or changing direction is heavily discouraged

I've played Domain and enjoyed the content, companions, survival elements, and freedom, but the amount of NSFW content and the Vortex-based setup are making me look elsewhere.

Currently considering:

  • Nordic Souls
  • LoreRim
  • Living Skyrim
  • Constellations

Which list would you recommend for someone who values roleplay and immersion more than challenge or optimization?

Thanks in advance!
