Alameda being what it is, there's some unclarity about our lot line with our neighbor. Can anyone recommend a residential surveyor that works in Alameda?

I've been to Turtle rock in the Ring preserve several times over the past few years, in May and June, time time for the unique Tiburon Mariposa lily to bloom. I don't believe I've ever seen it.

Am I simply missing it? I see all kinds of flowers.... am I seeing it and not recognizing it? Is that the correct picture? What's the trick to landing this moby dick?

With the lot closed for construction of the baseball field, where is the best parking for Strawberry pool right now?

Go up the hill and park near the botanical garden and walk down?

Find street or Cal parking lot parking and walk/Uber up??

Our yard is blessed with glorious redwood tree.

All around the base of the tree, the needles fall, and smother the ground, just like in the woods. It's great - it really keeps the weeds down.

Our flower beds are likewise 'blessed' with grass and weeds...

It occurred to me we should use the abundant redwood needles as much in the beds to keep the grass and weeds down, instead of constantly buying mulch.

Any downside to this? Anyone with success doing this?
