Perhaps I'm late to them, but having seen and owned every other core Rollin film minus Iron Rose Grapes of Death and The Living Dead Girl, boy peak Rollin is something else entirely. I just finished watching the latest two on 4K, GoD and TLDG. Not only do those both look great on Indicator's releases but they have a bite (pun intended) that his earlier vampire films don't. Grapes is just plain brutal and unrelenting with none of the pretentiousness except for an odd mention of the French resistance. TLDG might be his best film, and it brings together all of his signatures with a tragic emotional core. It has a Let Me In/Let The Right One In feel, and I wonder if the director was influenced by TLDG. I wouldn't be surprised. Indicator have really knocked one out here after a bit of a lull.
