Almost 3 years ago i had unprotected sex and i got sick with a terrible flu about a week later and online it says within 24 hours you get sick so now im paranoid that i did get hiv.

I’m getting surgery in a month and they did my bloodwork last week and one of the tests is gonna be for hiv. I have had no unusual symptoms other than getting a bad flu, am i in the clear or is there no way to know for sure until my bloodwork comes back?
