Hey everyone, I just had a Harman Accentra 52i (with the ZC box) installed by someone, and I’m looking for some feedback on the install.

There is a gap of approximately 1.5 inches between the bottom edge of the insert frame/shroud and the hearth floor. It doesn't look right to me, but I wanted to check if this is a standard clearance requirement for the ZC box or if the unit was simply set too high during the framing/install.

Specifics:

• Model: Harman Accentra 52i-TC Pellet Insert
• Housing: ZC (Zero Clearance) Box
• The Issue: 1.5" gap between hearth and bottom of the frame.

I've attached a few photos showing the gap and how it sits relative to the floor. Does this look "to spec" for those of you with this model, or should I be asking the contractor to come back and drop the unit/adjust the trim?

Hey everyone, I just wrapped up an energy audit and subsequent insulation project. I’m looking to get a second set of eyes on the craftsmanship and the performance gains to see if this looks like a solid job.

The Project:

• Air Sealing: The crew performed comprehensive air sealing throughout the attic and living spaces.
• Insulation: They dense-packed the attic floor (above the major living areas) with blown-in cellulose and then added more on top for a total of roughly 20 inches of coverage.

The Performance (Blower Door Results): The contractor performed a blower door test before and after. Here are the numbers:

• Initial: 3,572 CFM50
• Final: 2,500 CFM50
• Total Reduction: ~30% improvement in air leakage.

I’ve included shots of the final insulation depth, the baffles, and some of the sealing work around the chases and ductwork.

Questions for the community:

1. Does a 1,000+ CFM drop represent a significant "win" for a standard house (built in 2000), or is there usually more air sealing potential left on the table?
2. Based on the photos, does the quality of the air sealing and insulation coverage look up to professional standards?
3. With the floor being dense-packed plus the 20-inch total depth, is there anything specific I should keep an eye on regarding settling or ventilation?
4. Are there any "red flags" or missed spots that stand out to those of you who do this for a living?
