Traffic police in Mysore have started stopping vehicles with external/aftermarket fog lights. ( Saw today in hinkal flyover )

I understand the rules for city usage, but I mainly want to use them for highway drives where visibility is poor.

Is there any practical workaround people are following?

Do you remove/hide them?

Or just avoid installing altogether?

Looking for real experiences from people driving around Karnataka.
