I need a bit of help with drawing rot/mold

Heyo, not sure if this is *exactly* appropriate for this subreddit (or if the flair is right), but I thought it’s worth a shot.

I’m making a Corruption!Jon AU and, while I do have a general idea about how to design him, I still wanted to ask here! I don’t want to just repeat Prentiss’ worm thing, as I think that that’d be incredibly boring, so I want to give it more molding and rotting aspects instead, maybe a few maggots and other bugs by default.
Again, I *mostly* know what I want to do, but figuring out how mold/rot would look like on a human, especially the placement of it and things like how exactly it would affect other parts of the body (eyes, mouth, maybe limbs), is much more difficult than I’d like. Google searches are obviously not too helpful in that aspect beyond giving me a vague idea on how it *might* look.

I already got some tips on an art subreddit, but what better place for getting info on rot, mold and decay than the TMA subreddit, amirite? So yea, I’d appreciate any tips or advice! ^^

How do you draw rot/mold on a human?

I don’t mean zombie rot or skeleton rot. I mean, like, if the rotting/molding of a plant or food was applied to a human. It’s a weird question, I know, but it’s very necessary, and Google searches aren’t really helping me.

For optional context: I’m making a The Magnus Archives AU where Jon is an avatar of The Corruption instead, and I don’t want to reuse Prentiss’ worm thing. For people not in the TMA fandom, “The Corruption” (which I will not explain unless asked to because it would take a bit to explain) is characterized in the form of insects, bugs, mold, rot or anything of that sort being ‘attached’ to a human in a way. An example of this is worms being inside some of the avatars, leading to them being covered in holes from those worms.
So yea, if any of you know how to apply that to humans, I’d appreciate any tips or advice! ^^
