I'm a beginner in oil pastel and when I did this apple I realized something was off
I tried to apply color theory but it doesn't look that good..
Do you guys have any tips ?

I did this while I was at work so I had time in between to take and add to the drawing. I know I noticed something about it being a bit off but I can’t identify them properly. I know the eyelids are a problem and the dark outlines around the eyes and the eye lips are a standout, any advice is appreciated.
Some of these pieces are admittedly quite old (going from most recent to least recent), but I wanted to include a variety of what my work looks like!
I’ve done cheap commissions before, but due to the exhaustion and personal reasons I had to stop.
I’m trying to get back into it again but I want to price my work more accurately. What is it worth? What would you pay for it?
A piece can take me anywhere from 2 - 20 hours depending on complexity, rendering style, and how much I redraw. (I’m also quite a slow artist as I like to watch things in the background, so I don’t want to charge by hourly rates)
I want it to be high enough that I’m not feeling overworked and underpaid, but I still want them to be accessible and fair.
Any art advice or critique is welcome! ^^
I try but my drawings keep coming out terrible I can’t get the way he draws anatomy down and then the rest of the drawings looks trash too I’ve been trying since like June or July idk what to do
I’ve never been very good at painting and I’ve been practicing for a while and I think this unfinished piece is on the way to looking good I’m just not sure what I need to do to get it there. I’m using acrylic paints btw :)
I’m bit familiar with irezumi and studying or I should say copying other artist’s designs and Pinterest references but now Its kind of feels pointless to just copy cause I can’t draw without a reference and I was really interested in monmon cats but Don’t know how to properly study that thing so can someone give me advice how should I approach this
Hey! I have been doing a couple of portraits focusing on the values and proportions, but still feel like my drawings aren’t detailed properly. Any tips?
That’s the last drawing i made and its reference photo.
I’m making a steampunk platformer, and needed art to polish it up and remove placeholder art. This is my first attempt at a main character. What workflows or tips do you wish you knew earlier?
Would love to hear your thoughts!
hi everyone!! i’ve become okay at simple digital drawing and i’ve been wanting to learn how to pencil shade. i think my anatomy is okay for my more stylised pieces but i can’t get the hang of shading, any tips would be great i’ll attach some drawings i have and the reference for the more realistic attempt:
Need some help as im looking to draw a comic which has primarily more curvier characters. Does anyone have any tips to make it easier to draw curves/gestures/facial expressions on a larger form? Any help is appreciated🙏
I tried to draw snake from Vinland saga the first image is my 2nd attempt(the next day when I attempt 1st time). The 2 image is my first attempt I was impatience there.
In the second attempt I copy the reference and pastent on my notes app and write to draw lines and see the patterns before I jump to draw.
I am literally a beginner now and I am very happy from the first time to second attempt. But like this little that is literally not so good at least for one hour of time. and the shading is cooked and so does the sketch like it failed to catch the seriousness of the pose.
My future aim is to draw the anime character I like and human head.
like I try to draw a skull for anatomical but it didn't last long my routine is again cooked so I need your advice from someone who has gone through this and can tell me how I can improve and move towards my goal to draw anyone faces.
Just did this in acrylic paint - any tips on how to make it more permanent? :3
I know modge podge is popular but i feel like it would scuff off easily?
I'm not sure what to add to this drawing
Does anybody have any ideas
This is supposed to be a gift for a friend, but it just feels so flat and I wish it felt more dynamic that it really is.
