I bought a Lian Li SL-INF 120 fan with a hub from someone second hand, but instead of the original cable they supplied a micro USB to USB cable.

I noticed the original connection is normally a 4-pin micro USB style connector, and the seller said they lost the original wire.

Just wanted to double check before I plug everything in. Would using the normal micro USB cable cause any issues, or stop any features from working? Is there any risk of damaging the hub or fan controller if I use it instead of the original cable?

Bit of a rookie RGB/fan question and I just want to make sure I’m not doing something stupid 😅

Current setup:

- 6x AsiaHorse Cosmiq RGB fans, in 2 sets of 3 daisy chained

- 1x AsiaHorse Aurora-CO ARGB cable sleeve

- 2x Lian Li SL-INF 120 fans, daisy chained together and connected to the Lian Li hub

- Thermalright fan + ARGB hub

- MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR4 motherboard

My main confusion is around the Lian Li fans and RGB control.

Because the SL-INF fans use their own connector, they have to go into the Lian Li hub. Can I then connect the Lian Li hub into the Thermalright ARGB hub safely?

Also, how does the RGB software side of this work?

If everything ends up going through one 3-pin ARGB header on the motherboard, can I still control different fans with different colours/effects? Or would everything connected to that header just mirror the same effect?

And if I connect the Lian Li hub to a separate 3-pin header so I can control the Lian Li fans separately, can they still sync together with the other fans if I want them to?

Basically just checking if my setup/thought process makes sense before I cable-manage everything 😂
