does impending death make an otherwise unethical decision ethical?

i was watching house md clips on youtube, and came across the one where dr. chase kisses a 9-year old girl with cancer (?) who, from their expert medical opinion, was likely to die. i wondered about it and a tangential hypothetical thought i had of, what if chase brought it up to the parents, etc. and the child redirects the request to her father?

i guess i'm just wondering what ethical angles to look at it from, both pro- and anti-kiss, and also both from the perspective of being given that request as 1.) the temporary healthcare professional dr. chase, and 2.) the permanent father. cause i feel like there's a distinction to be dug at there, ethics-wise

question about pain during elastics

i have a dentist who suggested i have all four premolars removed for overbite and maybe general crowding issues. i declined as i don't really like the idea of taking more healthy teeth out (she took out a single healthy incisor pre-braces also for crowding, she said) + fears of changing my airway or side profile. she respected the decision but said we'll do elastics to correct the overbite.

i tried to do the elastics but my teeth all grinded weird during the adjustment phase. like one of my canines filed down, my bite got worse, but it was tolerable during the first few cycles of elastics. but over some other changes (tighter bands, different configuration) the pain got worse. like my jaw would shake even with the elastics off, i had horrible migraines, and i couldn't sleep.

i didn't really follow through with that phase of elastics and i kind of ghosted her during this time (not intentionally, just more of, i got busy with school). i went back recently to ask she just remove it since it's going to be a 8-9 years since i started and she said she will ONCE she sees a difference in my teeth post-elastics, even knowing it gave me that level of pain.

i'm just wondering if i'm being weaksauce about this and i should just tolerate the pain. but also i feel like i want a second opinion a bit, because there's some issues i have abt her personality and idk if it's affecting the way i think abt her treatment plan haha. thank you

is jaw tension normal during elastics?

question lang. may dentist kasi ako who suggested magpatanggal akong all four of my premolars bc of crowding issues raw. di ako agree kasi 'di pa ako okay sa bite ko non (it actually got worse during braces vs. before) and i felt that having 4 PREMOLARS removed when ang sinasabi niyang issue ko was my overbite felt sus. so she suggested i do elastics to compensate for whatever the premolar extraction could have done. nung nagtry ako though sobrang SAKIT. like i had headaches, nanginginig yung panga ko kahit tinanggal ko na yung elastics, minsan hirap ako makatulog. di ko talaga tinutuloy every month and she would insist na ituloy ko to fix the overbite / my bite in general. actuallyy mga 2021-2022 since she thought of this and we've been at a standstill treatment-wise kasi ayaw niya tanggalin braces ko until the "elastics does its thing".

i genuinely don't know if i trust her now tbh hahahaha 🥲 is it normalll to just continue with elastics pag ganon na yung feeling? is it even normal to insist on elastics pag tumanggi na sa premolar extraction? like may matutulong pa ba talaga yung elastics in that case?
