Lekin by Gulzar

So...I couldn't get this movie out of my head and then I ordered this book and I've read it all in one sitting today. AMAZING amazing story.

Also, I just found out it's Gulzar saab's birthday today.

PS: let me know if this post is irrelevant to the sub. I'll remove it. πŸ™‚β€β†•οΈ

This is so funny πŸ˜‚

I know u/beautiful_army7111 already posted about it (and also thanks for the link) but I just wanted to post the extended version because I've something to say

  1. I LOVED how Farhan implied that AKSHAYE thought about it for a second and THEN said no. I'd have loved to see Amir's face in that moment πŸ˜‚ I can vaguely remember how in some reel I saw quite some time back, Amir was telling Arijit Singh how to sing a certain like and I just thought THAT'S not even your field why are you like this πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ and then I connected this incident to that and instantly thought Akshaye ko acting sikha rahe, Vinod Khanna ke bete ko [ I am not being snarky it's just funny in my head ]

  2. I love how AFTER Akshaye said no, Saif realised ki ye kar sakte hain, na bol sakte hain. Saif's reaction πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Kudos to Akshaye for always knowing that HE knows his characters best and has VERY clear boundaries. Humko bhi sikha dijiye pls. What a gem of a person πŸ’œ

The look of love πŸ₯ΉπŸ’œ [ and a letter ] πŸ’Œ

Dear Akshaye,

Thank you for giving us Sid, a character who, even after all these years, feels less like a character and more like someone I know and would love to be friends with.

What I love most is how quietly and sincerely he loved Tara. Sahi kaha tha Sid ne, pyaar bas ho jaata hai, baaki maayne nahi rakhta. He understood her when very few did, and loved her without trying to fix her. (Exactly what she did for him as well). I hope to have a love as sincere and quiet as theirs. I might like grand gestures one day, par aaj woh din nahi hai.

And when Tara was gone, you showed us that grief doesn't always need words. You made his loss feel painfully real.

Akshaye, I sometimes like to imagine that Sid has a part of who you are too. In the way he chooses his art, his solitude, and his own pace instead of following what life is supposed to look like. And he's funny too! Just like you!

Thank you for giving me a character I'll always look up to when I get tired of witnessing toxic men on screen. I'll always aspire to be more like him, and you.

With all my admiration and gratitude.

Happy 25th to DCH.

Sid and TaraπŸ˜πŸ’œ

And Akshaye ko toh kya hi bol sakte hain, ekdum gazzab acting karne ke baad turant move on kar jaate hain (cue Ayushman asking him what was going on in his mind during this scene).

Randomly thinking about what songs would Sid absolutely love 🎢

I think he'd love all songs from Taal (Specially Nahi Saamne and Ishq Bina), Hume Jab Se from Border, Gehra Hua from Dhurandhar (specially that unreleased slow version) and he'd also really be into Ghazals like Ranjish and Gulon Mein Rang.

What are your picks?

And happy 25th to Dil Chahta Hai πŸ₯Ή What a special movie πŸ’œ

I watched "Lekin" yesterday

...and I cannot stop thinking about the movie. Hauntingly beautiful and just so brilliantly made. I am having a hard time deciding what my favourite Vinod Khanna movie is. His filmography has so many amazing films.

Also Dimple Kapadia looked so gorgeous I cried 😭πŸ₯Ή

The story is so amazing (I later found out that it's based on a story by Rabindranath Tagore, and I read the English translation of it) but also, in my opinion the movie just made the story a lot better!

And now I am just listening to Yaara Seeli Seeli on repeat.

But also look at this bts video of the movie that I found (because, as I said, I cannot stop thinking about the movie) and just look at how graceful Vinod Khanna saab looks. 🀌🏼

And thank you Akshaye for making me a fan so that I get to discover all these amazing amazing movies. πŸ™‚β€β†•οΈ

Watching Mirzapur right now, that's Vinod Khanna saab no?

Perks of being an Akshaye fan include how I'll always be super attentive to all and any Khanna's i spot anywhere 🀭

Like there is this dialogue in Raakh as well. (I made a post about it some time back and then deleted it)
