Okay okay okay. Guys. Forgive me if this sounds condescending or preachy, but I just wanted to add my two cents to this whole...... scenario.

I was genuinely excited to see Akshaye. I had imagined him sitting there with his all-pretty face looking mildly miserable because unhe apne ghar jaana hai and itne saare log ek saath bol rahe hain (yes yes, looking at the roundtable 👀).

But I couldn't really shake the feeling that Akshaye nahi aane wale hain. And I kept rationalising it by thinking:

1. AK is probably not very close friends with anyone in the cast, so there wasn't really a reason for him to show up.

2. He moves on pretty quickly. As someone who said "Mazza aaya" and moved on from one of his most iconic roles, 25 saal baad DCH se Akshaye ji ko kya fark pad jaana tha? And I mean that in the best possible way. He's moved on to bigger and better things. Yay, Mahakali. And hopefully, more movie announcements soon!

3. As pointed out by someone else as well, I HIGHLY doubt if Akshaye cancelled last minute. I feel like they were using his name for clout. That being said I do hope he is well.

And honestly, at the risk of breaking everyone's heart a little more, I won't be too disappointed if Akshaye never shows up to events like these. In my head (because OBVIOUSLY I don't know him personally — I wish I did lol), he's someone who simply doesn't enjoy all this. And I respect him even more for seemingly sticking to that and refusing to give up his comfort just because the world expects him to.

Dear Akshaye, I wish you a lifetime of health and happiness (DESPITE all your smoking 😭). May you always remain as private as you want to be. And may I continue creating little worlds in my head trying to figure out how your mind works. Honestly, I'd love to know someday.

But for now, this mystery is also what I find so endearing about you. You do what you're supposed to do so damn well (SHUKRACHARYA, DAMN) that everything else becomes irrelevant.

I love you for skipping this event too. Please take care. ❤️

And to my lovely sub members — let's just wait for Shukracharya. And I hope with all my heart that Akshaye knows just how much we love him. 😌
