What is demiromanticism to you?

I never really put too much thought on me being demiromantic. I just found the label and saw the general description for it to fit how I am. But I’ve recently started to put more thought into what demiromanticism means to me. And for me, the best way I can explain on how it works is that I can easily detach myself in emotional spectrums because my romantic attraction doesn't really just stem from just myself? Like l've had people I liked in the past, and all being people l've formed a friendship with first, since I'm like incapable of having feelings for people I know barely anything about. But the moment I know they don't like me back, it's like I'm able to filter out the previous romantic attraction I had BECAUSE I know they don't like me back. It's like I need the additional affirmation that our relation is strong to the point of mutual attraction, and if I don't have that affirmation then the attraction goes away with it because I come to the conclusion of "oh it's not as deep as l expected", but I'm always ok with it. It's like my brain will immediately go back to "friends only" mode and any kind of romantic interest just disappears afterwards (granted not immediately, but it never lasts longer than a couple days for me). Idk if that's just being content, I'm very much content with myself and have moved on from things pretty easily (ex: friendship breakups/gradual distance) some instances longer to recover from than others. It's also kinda why I used to get so confused when people who have asked me out, and I reject them but state I can still be friends and not be bothered by the confession- end up ghosting me entirely. But it's because that's not normal for many people, most people can't just lose or shut off their attraction towards someone when they get rejected, and still be able to maintain a friendship without those previous romantic feelings getting in the way.
And I’ve only ever had a couple of crushes, and which they were not reciprocated back, and I’ve moved on from them pretty easily.

This is my first post in this subreddit, but I guess I came here to see if this is a common experience among the community? Because as I stated prior, I never really thought too hard on my demiromanticism, but I’ve started to think about it more and realizing that this type of thinking isn’t really the norm.

Renewing passport as a first time adult

So I’ve seen questions about this. But I want to ask for myself since I ran into some issues while trying to get my passport.
I have an expired U.S. passport that I acquired before the age of 16. And so with the research I did, I know I have to sign the DS-11 FORM. But, I’m not sure if it’s because of where I live (I live in a very small town where the only closest option to renew my passport is the courthouse in my area. Both USPS in my town are not authorized for passport renewals), I had all my documents, copies of my documents, a verified passport photo, my old passport, and money orders (since that’s the only option I can get cause I don’t have a navy fed bank anywhere near me, and ordering online was more expensive) for what I was TOLD to have on the phone call during my appointment scheduling. But the moment I get to the courthouse, I was told that I not only I couldn’t use the money order due to the cost being combined (with what she didn’t even tell me. And I was too anxious and confused on what I did wrong that I forgot to ask what exactly was wrong!) And unless I missed something, I’m pretty sure I did everything right, I was obsessing over getting everything right. And even asked about the money order on the phone- where I was told the amount I needed to bring! But when I think about it, I doubt even the person I talked to knew what she was doing because this is small country bumpkin town where I doubt many people have their passports at all!

The lady told me to come back with another money order and cash within the same day if I’m able after giving me a paper with the prices.
And which by the time I left the building and looked at the paper, it wouldn’t have mattered anyways because the lady on the phone I talked to gave me the wrong price for the expedited USPS fee anyways- off by 90 cents!!! And I wasn’t going back because I didn’t have the means to just drop another $200+ on another money order when I wasn’t able to refund the one I got on the same day.

And also the lady took my damn passport photo.

My question is, is it even worth going back to that place. I had no way of contacting anyone since it was in a courthouse and they didn’t allow phones, and I quite honestly- don’t really know what I’m doing! I’m just trying to figure things out on my own.
I’ve seen people go to USPS’s and have a better time getting that passports through there. And even both USPS’s in my town aren’t authorized, I’m wondering if just going to another town to schedule an appointment at their USPS would be better? I feel like this process shouldn’t have been as much of a complicated mess as I experienced with, and I’m starting to think it’s cause of the area I’m resided in (because the process of how they did things just didn’t seem to align with what I was researching online to prepare for this. And the lady on the phone didn’t seem to be either paying attention, or know what she’s doing when I was scheduling my appointment)

Sorry if this is long, I’m kinda on my own and don’t have anyone who could help me out with this. And been really stressed out cause of other responsibilities I’ve been trying to handle on my own. I just really need this passport because I also need to renew another passport I own that’s foreign based.
Any advice helps really, I could really use the guidance.
