Alright I give up. What did I see?
I thought it was a late 80s Nissan or Mazda, but I can't find anything that looks quite right

This is probably in my personal top 20 all-time movies at this point, and I never see it come up!
Sometimes, you see a movie, and you know exactly what the pitch was. In this case, "Miami Vice, but in New Orleans." And what a combination!
Absolutely dripping with atmosphere and vibes. Fantastic and unique performances by Dennis Quaid and Ellen Barkin, who are both also very sexy in it. Fantastic soundtrack. Great plot.
Without spoiling too much, Dennis Quaid is a New Orleans cop. He's less a dirty cop, and more a normal cop in the dirtiest town. Ellen Barkin is a federal internal affairs agent investigating the department, but is a little out of her depth. They both discover that the rule-bending goes a lot deeper than either of them knew- with plenty of time for food, music, sex, crime, and snappy dialogue along the way.
Watch it once for the movie, watch it a second time just to savor it. It gets better with rewatches. This movie kicks so much ass. 90% RT, 6.5 IMDB (but that's way too low imo)
It's been so long since I've seen one of these that I forgot they existed
Thanks in advance- I'm tearing my hair out with this one!
I use Reaper as my main DAW, but I love using Reason as a rewire device for things like drum machines, synths, and samplers. But for the record, I have tried all of this with Reason alone too, so this is not a rewire issue.
I use Reason 10 on a Windows 11 PC. It has good specs- a new i9 processor, 32 gb ram, and an m.2 SSD. When I'm loading a reason refill into a project, and it's an NN-XT or other sampler, the refill loads extremely slowly. Sometimes 5-10 minutes.
The strange thing is that it's not an issue for new projects. If a file is unsaved, the sampler loads very quickly. But if it's a project that has been saved, the sampler loads very slowly.
I have tried everything I can think of to isolate the issue. I tried moving the refill into its own folder, I've tried having the refill and the project file in the same folder. I've tried loading sounds into a new project, then copying the device into a saved project. I've tried messing with every setting I can find. It seems like the program is very slow to transfer the sampled sounds into a project file.
Is there anything I can do to optimize this? I have searched all over the internet but have not found an answer to this issue.
Anyone have any recommendations? I tried looking into this once but came up surprisingly short. I love watching obscure or mediocre movies with good soundtracks.
Off the top of my head, a few I know of-
That Thing You Do (duh)
Valley Girl has a great soundtrack with Plimsouls and Josie Cotton (who also both show up in the movie)
Clueless isn't really power pop but feels power pop-adjacent.
I came across The Wigs' album "My Chauffeur" which it turns out was music written for the movie of the same name. I haven't watched the movie yet though.
Any others?
Maybe it's just me but I've always thought they have a strong resemblance. Like they could be brothers or something
"Our memories will go jogging"
"J Edgar Winter"
"The Golf War"
"I'm not my sister's beeper"
I don't mind at all because it's hilarious. But once you notice it, it feels like half the jokes are just garbled phrases.
