Unable to do seiza

Hello, today I'll attend some aikido workshop. Some time ago I ended up with a dislocated kneecap and some stuff torn in my knee. According to the doctor I can do some exercise again. Usually I train boxing, kickboxing and MMA but I can't do that yet. How open are aikido Sensei's to someone not doing seiza at the beginning?

ideas for training without stressing leg

Last sunday i dislocated my kneecap during training.

Right now i won't be able to train for a while.

Does anyone have some idea for some exercises that won't stress my knee so i won't be completely out of shape by the time i can get back into karate?
