Question about Alan powers and Dark Place

First of all, I’d like to say that I played Alan some time ago, so I might have missed an obvious explanation for this :) I’m wondering why, while being in the Dark Place, Alan couldn’t write something along the lines of: “Trapped in the Dark Place, Alan Wake wrote that a direct exit to the real world appeared right next to him. Immediately after he wrote it, such a passage actually appeared.”
I’m guessing the story has to have its own logic, cause and effect, meaning that it has to be believable? I just don’t remember whether this was actually mentioned in the games.
He couldn’t simply help himself in a fight by writing, “Suddenly, a rifle with unlimited ammunition made of light bullets materialized in his hands,” but could something like that potentially happen if he properly “justified” it within the story as a writer?

Windows doesn't detect HDR support on my TV.

I wanted to use my TV (S90F) as a gaming display. I previously used it for gaming on consoles and everything worked perfectly fine. However, for some reason, after connecting it to my PC, Windows refuses to detect HDR support. As a result, games don't detect it either, and there is no option to enable HDR in the games.

I managed to force HDR to work through a kind of "brute force" method: I turn Game Mode off in the TV settings, HDR appears, and then I switch Game Mode back to On or Auto. After that, HDR remains available until I turn off the TV, at which point it disappears again.

So the cable should be fine, since I can eventually force HDR 4K 120 Hz to work. The problem is that this doesn't happen automatically when I turn on the TV, and I don't want to go into the settings every single time, reset the settings, and check whether HDR has finally kicked in.

My graphics card is an RX 9070 XT, if that helps in any way. Also, without HDR enabled, the color depth is limited to just 8-bit, and there is no option to change it to 10-bit.

I have already had several long conversations with ChatGPT about how to set everything up properly, but unfortunately, we couldn't get it working. Its diagnosis was that there might be some kind of cable-to-PC "handshake" issue, but firstly, I have no idea how to fix that, and secondly, I'm not sure whether I should trust that diagnosis.

In any case, what I would really like is for HDR to be properly detected by my PC and to turn on automatically every time, without having to "brute-force" it by resetting the TV settings.

Need a help with finding new channels

I’ve been into creepypastas for a really long time and I’ve been listening to them pretty much daily for around 15 years. The thing is, I’ve always listened to them in my native language.

Lately I’ve been thinking about checking out some English-speaking creators and finding some new channels. The problem is that even though my English is pretty good, I’m not really that used to listening to it.

I often put creepypastas on when I’m falling asleep, so relying on subtitles isn’t really an option. Because of that, I’m looking for English-language channels with a more accessible narration style. Something where the narrator speaks clearly, pronounces words well, with good quality sound, maybe talks a bit slower, and is generally easier to follow for someone whose ear isn’t fully used to spoken English yet.

Any recommendations?

Just to start off — this isn’t some big theory of mine, and I’m not gonna lay out arguments to prove what I’m about to say. Like the title says, it’s just a random observation.

I’ve noticed that after the latest episode, pretty much everyone is taking the whole Lake of Tears concept and the spider Ethan saw very literally. But I started wondering... if that was some kind of dream or vision, maybe it’s not meant to be taken so directly.

What if the “spider” that people are afraid of is actually MIY? If he’s the mastermind behind everything, then he kind of fits that role. A “spider” sitting in the middle of a web, collecting victims and going after them when the time is right.

The Lake of Tears itself could also be metaphorical. The town might be the lake. After all, nothing but horrible things happen there, and there’s been plenty of suffering and “tears” spilled.

In that case, “finding the lake” wouldn’t mean literally searching for a place, but rather looking at the town from a different perspective, which could lead them to some answers.

I mean, there’s a lighthouse in the forest, no actual body of water anywhere nearby… but there is a town.

Like I said, I’m not claiming this is a solid theory or that I even believe it myself. I’m just a bit surprised that people are taking the whole concept so literally and grounded.
