So I was on instagram. Just minding my own business and I saw this perfect man being drenched in water.

The first half I am there thinking "awh everybody splashes him! Protect him!". His laugh makes me so happy though so everyone is forgiven.

Well NingGe does not forget because then we see him take out everyone with one water container! In one perfect motion/twirl. The grace!

Our favourite guy is very effective and I love it.

Also where do those two walk off with the big bucket?!

Thoughts on the previous episode
None of us were really mourning the passing of Papa Xia. We are a tad worried about Xue Mu though. How we wish the man was shipped off to the front. Now we have to imagine what this insane man is going to do besides trying to force our girl to marry him..

Buckle up everyone. This is going to be a long post. 3 episodes in one and a lot is happening. Also I hate that we miss some audio on the YouTube version. Shakes fist at Viki! I have made a total of 29 gifs and I will add the ones I do not use in the post to the comments. As per usual!

Episode 22
LiuQing is trying to sell her treasures, when that doesn’t work she is giving Papa Ye a large heart attack! Wondering if he needs to decide on the way he is going to die.

Poor Papa Ye! He looks so scared!

WenZhao is probably thinking the same thing when a servant tells him his future wifey is at the house. He checks his father for broken bones. I love how annoyed Papa Ye’s responds!

I was afraid you didn't know your bones were broken .. GUY!

But the panic is for naught, he can now marry his LiuQing. She tells Papa Ye she wants to marry his son, when she makes a language mistake he corrects her once but not twice! Some healthy fear  for his badass daughter in law. After showing her cakes and Papa Ye having the most over the top response .. he realizes they are great! I think he legit stopped listening to her and just wanted to keep those snacks in the family! Oh and the fact that she will abduct WenZhao if he doesn’t agree! Papa Ye realises her and his son are just as annoying, made for each other really! WenZhao is so happy!

Something weird is happening to YuBing. She is seeing sketch lines and bodies are drawn. Everything is glitchy and she is losing time. I do not think ZiYan is worried enough besides checking for a fever. Sir this is all wild!

At the same time Xue Mu is having, what I can only assume is, a big headache! He sneaks into the city to Demon Lord’s hidey hole. Who is explaining to Xue Mu that the author had no idea what to do with the story so the grave yard awakening area was created and that the people, with tastes that kept getting weirder, wanted to see more of poor Xue Mu so she made him self aware. Xue Mu is understandably angry and asking why he is not the protagonist. When our favourite NPC tells him that is just how it is Xue Mu proceeds to stab him a few times. What a jerk! Not only that he sets everyone's food on fire. Why is he like this?!! Everyone is starving because of him. Our favourite good guys are handing out food.

It appears the author has no idea how to finish the story and stopped taking calls from the editor. The same day is being repeated and YuBing, ZiYan and Xue Mu all realise. Time for another lesson from NPC GuGu where he tells our couple that the author has stopped writing and there are no more pages. With a 50% chance she won’t continue to complete the stories. The herbs and food are not in the loop so eventually everyone will die. YuBing is shooting the messenger in this case. While YuBing is trying to save more people she is AGAIN abducted by Xue Mu and again our girlie bites him! Yes YuBing .. bite his finger off! While Xue Mu again takes zero accountability and blames everything on the author and YuBing he again asks her to run away with him. YuBing is hoping that by leaving with him she can break the loop. When ZiYan gets worried that she has not arrived home yet. A’Guang wants to comfort him but remembers the last abduction. Just as Xue Mu is getting ready to kill the love of his life he gets a fierce kick from best kicker ZiYan! Who is ready to murder! But out girl proves again that she is a good person and asks ZiYan to not hurt him, Xue Mu needs to go to jail. The hug that ZiYan gives her is filled with panic as he was so scared he lost her! I love them!

Kick the shit out of him ZiYan!

Not only that but our girl has another good idea. Food isn’t in the loop but maybe seeds are and they can grow food even if the days reset. While our best couple is trying to get people to plant it they run into some sassy people. The first gets scolded by his wife like a toddler and is told the food he ate is because of them so he will plant whatever they say. I really like that lady! The second guy wants to be paid and YuBing is not in the business of giving away her money but ZiYan says the money will be back tomorrow. Very smart of him since he knows his wifey won't agree otherwise. Even if the bag is full again the next day our couple goes out again to hand out seeds and having experienced the day before they know how to get the job done as fast as possible. By immediately going to the wife and bypassing the hunter and by immediately giving money to the seller in the shop. While ZiYan is being a good husband to his wife by saying she doesn’t need makeup the author is seeing her characters being good people and hoping for her to start writing. When the author sees that there is one loyal fan out there waiting for an update (this feels like me asking for WattPad updates on my favourite not updated stories more than a decade ago haha, I feel old) our screenwriter picks up her screen off the floor and beings writing again.

Episode 23
YES! The bag is empty this morning! She can hardly believe it so she pinches her poor husband!

Everything about this is adorable!

But we can’t experience too much good news so we see YuBing fainting again. Not only that, but Xue Mu escaped prison. Turns out girlie has been coughing up blood for a while and during the examination ZiYan is looking so sad. Does that mean she can’t be saved? She gives an amazing speech about friends and loved ones making her life interesting so she is not afraid of death anymore and she wants to spend her remaining time with all her loved ones. While the whole gang is watching a show everyone is looking depressed to the max while YuBing is happy. This whole montage! Ofcourse Xue Mu is still plotting and for his next plan he needs to collect some starving strays again. After a speech about defying fate I am wondering what that man is going to do. 

Papa Xu and ZiYan are reading all the medical texts they can and find the existence of anaesthesia powder so they can do surgery on YuBing. Both are so happy about this development and ZiYan goes to pick some the next day. A group of bandits have taken up residence near the last needed herbs location ofcourse. Do we actually think it is anyone but Xue Mu and his cronies?! ZiYan is captured and we learn that Xue Mu wants to be the protagonist. ZiYan tells him he can’t be because he is a bad person who did so many bad things. Xue Mu does not like that information at all and sends a letter telling YuBing to come to the graveyard to save her dearest. LiuQing and Wenzhao also pledge to join but YuBing is thinking “that will be a cold day in hell“ and sneaks off alone. I mean girlie is dying so she might as well save her person with the time she has left right? Oh ZiYan .. do you think she really won’t come for you?! While ZiYan is bargaining for YuBing’s life he realises that man does not love her at all. But we already knew that man only cares about himself and his obsession. In the village the remaining Xia’s and Wenzhao are rallying to save our main couple. 

We already knew this ofcourse. But it is nice ZiYan told him! Xue Mu is wrong!

While YuBing is arguing with Xue Mu to save ZiYan we see A’Guang being an absolute sneaky legend and saving his master and being surprised at his knock out skills. While Xue Mu threatens to blow everyone up if she doesn’t leave, ZiYan is actively losing his mind. While YuBing tells him he needs to eat and take care of herself because she is sure she is going to die, our gang needs to restrain him or he will go after her.

My heart! Poor ZiYan who is having the worst of times!

All appears lost but then Xia Lan makes a dive for Xue Mu and they hang off the side of a cliff together. YuBing proves to be a master with rocks again and throws one on Xue Mu’s face like an expert rock thrower! Girlie doesn't miss! Love it! Sadly before falling off the cliff we see Mu shooting off that firework signal. But at least he is down the cliff! This death feels really anticlimactic though. Just as Lan is about to fall down too, LiuQing is there to help save her sister. Just as our gang is going to die a painful death by explosion .. they suddenly stop. Apparently our favourite idiot YaoZu saved the day because he needed to go to the toilet! Look how happy everyone is! I love watching them happy! With around 1 and a third episode left to go I am worried. What else is going to be thrown at us?!

Ofcourse.. Xue Mu has arrived in the same purgatory area as YuBing at the start. Ofcourse he starts ranting immediately as is his nature. Why does even the author look relieved that he is dead?!

Finally some good news as ZiYan finds the last herb they need. Can I say that I do not like that jacket on him?! But ofcourse the suffering doesn’t end there. Our girl is allergic to the anesthesia. Those are the worst looking spots I have ever seen! While those are clearly fake, my distress is real. How are they going to save our girl now?! I think ZiYan and I are on the same level of emotional response. Well, when he runs out shouting he will save her, I am not standing catatonic in my garden having flashbacks of our girl before falling towards the earth like a sack of potatoes but still, I am in distress! Also .. I must admit, he looks very pretty when he cries. I want to see him in more dramas! ZiYan keeps trying to find a cure and he finds one, change the blood. Even here they know mixing wrong types of blood can be fatal! I love that! But the only one actually in danger during this procedure since YuBing is already dying. It is a hail mary and ZiYan is willing to take the risk. Let him do it Papa Xu! Also .. would there be a way to mix the blood and see if there is a response even in olden times? Anyway, everyone gets in on the blood giving plan. WenZhao will give his blood so that LiuQing won’t have to. While I applaud his care I disagree with his argument “because I am a bigger and stronger man”, sir .. she can for sure take you any day. But I do love that he says your sister is my sister. Sadly for everyone YuBing says no. Nobody is putting themselves at risk for her. When he calls himself useless my heart aches for him and why does he always look so shocked when YuBing hugs him?! 

We are back to the original plan, enjoying her last days together and being happy. When she wants to win some adorable plushies we are gifted with another trope. The “I will help my girl shoot an arrow” trope and I love it! Yes girl you are amazing and gifted. Oh .. I was wrong, she did not give a hoot about plushies. She wanted the money. Well I should have known! She goes on to immediately spend the money and drink 7 jugs of alcohol together with ZiYan. Look at that adorable kiss. I want them to be happy together, always! On the brink of this final episode we are presented with another trope, the one where the girl can’t cook but her loving partner is doing their absolute best to have her never find out. Girl must think salt is free and needs to be added by the Kilogram .. because she keeps adding it. ZiYan is so scared for his poor kidneys. ZiYan tries to make A’Guang try it and tries to stop YuBing from tasting the soup. When she does she promptly faints. 

I laughed so hard! The faces are facing!

Episode 24 - The final one!
After her little run in with what I think is a severe case of salt poisoning, she might have lost her memory. My heart breaks when ZiYan looks up at his father with such a questioning look and basically pleading for help. When ZiYan goes out to look for GuGu he is not in the usual spot. I am worried! Wait, has she lost all the memories related to GuGu? What is happening?! These two men and their shared trauma. Poor Papa Xu having to watch his son go through this as well. 

But as we leave that depression on a stick we are given the hilarity of LiuQing asking her future father in law to take his son as HER WIFE! GIRL! I love you!

AS HER WIFE?!

When she gets flustered she also tells Papa Ye she will take over his son. He will be her problem from now on. Girl does NOT have a way with words but I love it. Scratch that, her explaining why she wants to marry WenZhao is absolutely beautiful!

She'll be his husband! Just hand over the man Papa Ye!

Not WenZhao asking his father for help on how to respond and the man saying “why are you asking me? I am not taking a wife?!”. Also Papa Ye asking LiuQing to help raise him is so cute and I love that man!

Dad... help?! I am not the one taking a wife!

While WenZhao and LiuQing are out ordering their wedding clothes YuBing is looking a bit lost. ZiYan proceeds to propose to our lovely girl in the most romantic way possible while he also admits he is scared. When she says yes he puts the idea forward to get married together with LiuQing and WenZhao. Man has indeed been planning and I love him for that. This kiss is even better! 

This declaration of love is beautiful! She won't be giving that jade back!

When YuBing wakes up she looks really stressed. First we think it is because she overslept on her own wedding day, but might it be that she still thinks ZiYan is a bad guy? Also Lan telling LiuQing if she dislikes the makeup she will wear it for her, LiuQing is not having any of that! WenZhao is hers! Indeed she has forgotten their whole life but luckily ZiYan is there to find his wifey again and twirl her around like the first time! This man was already prepared for this and lures her back with half of the store to get the money she needs to extend her life. ZiYan, the man that you are!

ZiYan has been lying in wait! Time for another twirl!

When YuBing is worried about the possibly poisoned snacks he knows what she is thinking. Also can we take a moment to discuss that WenZhao put “Married Man” on his fan like people put Just Married on their cars after the wedding?! When LiuQing is flaunting ALL the rules like going to the Ye Mansion herself on a horse and not covering her face, the second best husband (sorry WenZhao, I love ZiYan the most) tells the servants that whatever his wife says IS the rule. When LiuQing is worried about YuBing her husband tells her not to worry, ZiYan has been lying in wait. I giggled. ZiYan is basically herding his wife on a professional level. 

Also can we appreciate that WenZhao bought a Marriage Handbook which he pulls out after HE asks LiuQing what happens next. Little clueless potato! Now I NEED to know which pages he rips out! What is stated there?! Does he just want to skip to the "good part?!"

I love that LiuQing does not let him kiss her, she will kiss him as we expect from this woman!

Yes LiuQing! Poor WenZhao looks so sad for a moment!

In the Xu household we see ZiYan caring for his woman with food and then to business. Man does not let her get away and doesn’t care that this is a contract marriage. That was a good kiss! 

When ZiYan wakes up YuBing is nowhere to be found. Maximum panic! Turns out our girl has been eating a massive amount of stuffed buns and isn’t full yet. ZiYan is just happy she is still here and lets her eat whatever. Both A’Guang and Papa Xu comment that our couple behaves nothing like themselves. When LiuQing and WenZhao visit it appears that YuBing has forgotten their wedding and when ZiYan looks worried and wants to see our second favourite couple off so he can explain LiuQing does NOT take the hint. Luckily WenZhao knows his best friend and he takes his wife outside. When ZiYan tells her YuBing is losing her memory, our girl needs a lesson in empathy. Nobody is more distraught than ZiYan, be a bit nicer LiuQing! But when LiuQing finds out her not-even-a-day-old-husband also knew she immediately bans him from the marital bedroom. Girlie is not messing around! 

The next day when ZiYan wakes up YuBing is gone again. It appears for real this time. Our whole group is out on the street looking for our girl. When ZiYan returns home he finds the jade pendant and a lot of notes that YuBing wrote to herself where we can see that she was very aware of something being wrong and that she is dying. The note about how she can forget anyone except for her love ZiYan is again breaking my heart. ZiYan also goes off on a quest to find his wife. That note is really rude though, telling all your loved ones they are not real just like that. While Papa Xu asks if his wife can be revived and Lan asks the same about her father, we get the delight that is YaoZu! Man is an idiot and understands nothing. 

This doofus!

The comic is a bit hit and the author talks about her characters. But WOMAN give us an answer! What happened to your babies?! 

We see WenZhao educating his son and his daughters acting like two absolute menaces. I love that he hints that their son is like him so their two daughters must take after his darling wife. One look of the darling wife shuts him right up though. After years of marriage and a courtship of years he knows not to get on her bad side! Lan is managing the store and she is good at it and even YaoZu is capable now. While the daughters run around WenZhao is trying to get his son to fan him. Was that the “Married Man” fan? If so .. love that little detail! He needs to let the world know every day that he is taken by his favourite person! Not YaoZu saying just because his sister can’t find a good husband doesn’t mean he can’t! I love that for him!

YaoZu go and find yourself a good husband! You have our blessing!

In front of the store we see Papa Xu and Papa Ye burning paper to reach the author. Asking to revive his wife. He includes the image of his wife so she knows what to draw. Smart man that Papa Xu. Poor Papa Ye doesn’t know how to draw though! These men go into the store to hold their grandchildren! Because for all intents and purposes LiuQing’s children are Papa Xu’s grandchildren too! 

Just as I lost all hope about finding out what happened to our best couple we see two people with children walk up to the store. Can I just interject here that I hate, Hate, HATE Xu ZiYan’s hair here? First I thought it might have been a re-incarnated Xue Mu and I was very angry for a hot second. Give me that man with the beautiful flowing long hair! Anyway, our couple was/is blessed with two beautiful children, a son and a daughter and they have returned home.

They look so happy and content. Why did you stay away so long?! I love them!

I am so happy for everyone! At this point I do not even care we don’t know how she got saved, I only care that it happened. A happy enigma ending! 

Look at this happy reunion and the two sons immediately bonding with each other and A'Guang!

Final Thoughts
Look at that medicine counter, people! On average 1,37 medicines are taken per episode. I must admit I did count the flashbacks. A good amount of kisses too! Sadly after the first episodes no more face masks! 
While I hate not knowing how our girl got saved from that tumor, nor that we know if she keeps forgetting everything except ZiYan, I am happy that they lived happily. Why did they stay away for so many years though?! I have questions that will forever be unanswered but as long as they are together and living a good life I can live with it. Seeing this gang happy makes me happy! Overall I really enjoyed the beginning and the end. The middle was a bit rough but I am not unhappy I watched it, I hope neither are you. Logistics
We are almost at the end of the rewatch. Only 1 post left to go. I will do my best for friday. This last post will have the final 3 episodes in what u/navchaa coined the three episode bonanza! So more to write, more to gif. More everything.

Thoughts on the previous episode
Overall this malaria arc was not really for us I think. Although I did love to see our babies falling further in love and LiuQing and WenZhao getting back together! We are in the homestretch now, people.  

Recap 
Episode 20 
While we see YuBing being very strict on ZiYan, who else but LiuQing comes by to bring chaos again? She has brought along a kidnapped official. She shows him what Xue Mu was hiding, all the sick people in Yanxia. Finally we think Xue Mu is getting some consequences but he throws his usually sour looking sidekick under the bus so fast, it is almost unbelievable. Not even that but the man takes the blame and when Xue Mu promises to take care of his family he even thanks the man. Big aaaarrggghhh! As a reward our doctor gets a plaque. ZiYan would rather have received news that Xue Mu would be sent to the battlefield instead. Official Li says goodbye and right at that moment the owner of Rainy Terrace puts her inn up for sale. 

YuBing reminds me of the mother of Fang Xiao Bao in Mysterious Lotus Casebook. She also bought property very cheap because someone died in it. WenZhao will do everything for his LiuQing so he is also on board but not with as much enthusiasm as the rest. In my opinion he is correct though. People died there! 

ZiYan bought the board of the snack store for her because he knows it is an emotional thing for her .. but two seconds later they change the name so they need to make a new board. A+ for effort .. but not really well thought out. Now we come to the Chinese name of the drama! The 24 flavours of life. That is great and all but people won’t visit the store because people died there. Until the people that ZiYan saved all come buy to buy their products as thanks. My heart!

Look at our gang of besties! Only good things for these babies!

ZiYan is out there washing his wife's feet while she is counting money. Her dream life! While he tells her to calm down a bit he is sad that he couldn’t save everyone. (Also weird… they say only one person died but everyone not coming to the store makes it sound like dozens of people died!). He thinks that women need to learn more about their own health to recognize problems earlier so they can see a doctor.

What a husband! He is doing his best!

Well YuBing has got your back, she just starts what is basically a spa with health classes. Some women want to start a store but have no start capital. Here is WenZhao to the rescue and he is basically a bank. Man wants a business plan before lending money (smart!). 

An episode is not complete for me without those two old geezers in a kerfuffle. What a conversation it is! Papa Xu wants to give Papa Ye his white stuff but Papa Ye refuses, sort off. Because when he walks off, in the wrong direction I might add, he does take it with him. What just happened?!

These two always crack me up!

Papa Xu gives his son a medical journal that might help him save YuBing and they talk about Mama Xu. “Papa it is time to live your own life” but when he tries to meet a cute lady via the spa .. that is also not what ZiYan wants haha! 

All the girls are cute? Lets goooooo!

When LiuQing and WenZhao are out to make a deal for the shop they find YaoZu and take him away. Is Xue Mu drinking vinegar while watching his cousin hug her husband in front of her successful shop and in the same breath threaten Lan.

Maximum vinegar!

Those poor servants are brutally murdered by Xue Mu and his cronies. Not only he is arranging a cover up to make it seem YaoZu has been murdered and burned. I hate that man sooo much! Nevermind I hate him even more, he is pinning the murder on ZiYan. “Why are evil people still alive?” Lan asks.. GIRL I HAVE BEEN THINKING THE SAME ABOUT YOU .. but alright. The nerve of some people though!

First of all the nerve. Second .. that smirk of Xue Mu gives me the creeps. Man needs a brick to the face!

At the same time we see the group discuss what to do with YaoZu while he is is pretending like he has lost some of his marbles. To make sure they can all sleep in the store together WenZhao is bunking up with ZiYan .. who is less than pleased with this development. Man just wants to sleep with his wife, not his bestie! (I didn't gif this because it was too long but I laughed so hard when I saw it again). Not knowing how close she is to her brother, or the danger she is putting him in, Lan is burning the shop to avenge him. To get away from the fire our couples team up out of the window. LiuQing wastes no seconds and yanks WenZhao out of the window. Suddenly YaoZu remembers everything and wants to be taken down first. After ZiYan pushes that man out of the window he is ready to take his wife downstairs.

Not LiuQing yoinking WenZhao away. Man doesn't know what hit him!

Finally our group know the truth for certain. Xue Mu is a double murderer. Finally YuBing needs to stop defending that snake of a man! Two people clad in black go off to pick up the firestarter. I love that it is the other skilled couple who could be siblings, ZiYan and LiuQing! While Lan keeps cursing our group she wont even believe it was all Xue Mu when her brother tells her. I am so ANGRY at YuBing for STILL NOT BELIEVING what everyone keeps telling her! That man is the WORST! But at least she has a plan .. I hope… 

Another disaster happening to our bestie group and their store.

Episode 21 
So Lan just told Xue Mu, who is pretending he cares like a pro, that YaoZu is alive .. is she being stupid again or is this part of the plan?! Ofcoure an assassin is sent! With a knife that can’t even slice through the blankets .. but that doesn’t matter xD.

What kind of assasination is this?!!

The truth is out. Xue Mu is a baddy. Lan almost faints, curses him and then gets told that she would also be killed by Lord DoucheCanoe if the plan got out. Not YaoZu patting her and saying she is not to blame. Sir she is a grown adult and did some horrible things … some blame man! Just as Xue Mu is making one of them pretty caligraphies .. his ink runs out, his stick breaks and his incense runs out or something? Is this the historical Chinese equivalent to “I hope you always stub your pinky toe?” if so .. I agree! I hope he breaks all the ink sticks and always runs out of ink! 

The gif is sadly a bit blurry because he is so far from the camera. But .. I hope all his sticks break! Forever!

While he goes on a little walk to cool down from this “injustice” he sees a new official entering the town. YaoZu and nameless assassin are being tried for their crimes to implicate Xue Mu. Oh finally  the man is being arrested, sadly the man is always ahead of everyone. Luckily amazing ZiYan can measure when he painted it because of how dry the ink is xD. We also see Papa Xia having a little meltdown over losing his place to live. 

The way ZiYan pulls YuBing close to him to protect her from her sucky father!

YaoZu saying Lan is innocent is making me very very angry. Girl knew exactly what she did but okay! WenZhao saying he did not think LiuQing could handle guarding Lan is hilarious. But I bet he wish he did not join when Lan called him GeGe / 哥哥. LiuQing looks like she drank some vinegar again! 

We see our couple being very forgiving but YuBing thinks YaoZu still needs to be flogged, 500 times!

Not Lan basically poking a finger in his hole when he says it all hurts. Girl!

The mansion is also returned to the Xia siblings, to be fair their whole interaction is adorable. At the same time our favourite Xia is having words with our least favourite Xia. While we see our girl out with A’Guang she is being abducted. The proof? Dropped TangHulu! YuBing wakes up in the most CREEPY way. In red, being make-upped by that horrible man. But luckily the whole gang is out looking for her. Also Xue Mu .. can you please not touch her?! But good that you found some courage to touch her. YuBing does the the best thing and bites that jerk. Is that guy planning a murder suicide? Saying she loves him but has just forgotten. At least YuBing is smart and uses some stalling tactics. When YuBing makes a run for it we see truly unhinged Xue Mu. I actually like this look. The act is over and we see the real Xue Mu who is crazy and unhinged! Love. It. Driven crazy by his love for her huh? Well at least YuBing calls him out! After her maximum carnage words about how ZiYan is better than him and that he is unworthy, we see a very grumpy Papa Xia finding his daughter.

Well I did not in the beginning, but I now I for sure am. What a jerk!

Man you shouldn't have. Really. Also that unhinged look!

Any sympathy I might have had .. vanished as fast that slap and choke arrived. He doesn't deserve it indeed!

Not only that but he is finally doing something to protect his daughter. Taking some knife damage. The rock to the face of Xue Mu was so therapeutic to watch. We see Papa Xia slipping into eternal oblivion and to be honest. It does nothing to me. That man has been an absolute unapologetic mess from the start, even the montage is falling flat on my uncaring heart.

I don't think I could have cared any less about this!

YuBing’s crying does make me sad though, girlie does NOT deserve any of that. At  the same time LiuQing and WenZhao are following Xue Mu and we see that he finds his way to THE memory restoring graveyard. 

At the funeral we see our besties update us that Xue Mu is still missing, YuBing being sad, ZiYan telling Papa Xia he will protect YuBing and then telling our girl it will all be okay. We see our three sisters be re-united. LiuQing is not really on board of this train yet, especially when Lan calls WenZhao GeGe / 哥哥 again. Girl is ready to throw hands! But luckily Lan can read “I am about to beat you up” eye language and corrects herself to calling him Ye WenZhao! Can I also gush about YuBing’s loose hair without the bunny ears? What an amazing hairdo!

Finally our sisters are united!

I love that Papa Xu is now trying to convince his best frenemy to let his son marry LiuQing! This whole conversation is amazing. To WenZhao calling Papa Xu Uncle because he is basically LiuQing’s father in law to WenZhao telling off his father because he will marry LiuQing anyway.

When Papa Ye says he liked YuBing because she could do business you see papa Xu actively stopping himself to not lunge for Papa Ye for insinuating YuBing should have married into the Ye family.

When Papa Ye says LiuQing needs to learn business .. our girl says .. alright, I will make you see! When WenZhao says he doesn’t need her to do business, he just wants her to be his wife my heart does a big melt! What a pookie!

When both LiuQing and YaoZu take classes from the best businessman in town poor Yaozu is not having a good time. While LiuQing is clearly the worse student he keeps getting reprimanded while he is so kind to LiuQing… sir I know she is your fiance but..NOT COOL! 

Xue Mu has finally found the graveyard, took him the whole day, maybe that rock to the face was worse than I thought. He now also has the memories of that fateful night and we see him saying he will avenge YuBing before he promptly faints.                                                                                                                                                                  Questions

Finally some positivity and fun returned. I loved watching our favourites have a good time again. But guys… that swing kiss was ridiculous xD

Jiang is utterly dead! The background music sounds like something from Final Fantasy! Ah question answered, not poison but he bit his own tongue off. Savage. 

YES WENZHAO! I am so proud of you. He is finally kicking Lan to the curb. But with a big bag of money. Until ZiYan spills the truth that she was never the girl that saved WenZhao. Who told him .. Jiang .. and he blamed it on Lan! Diabolical. Oh nevermind the food was also poisoned. Cousin douchebag is here to make everything worse. For Lan this time under the guise of help. Oh but I did love that slap!

Best scene of the whole show! It made me happy!

The least he deserves. Finally more people are seeing through him. The absolute rat! I was expecting the sky to thunder at his words. Ugh!

These two pancakes are the same two who hurt LiuQing in the past. He is even thanking those robbers for the match they made! Our slaphappy girl is there to save him. I am slightly disappointed that the neck grab did not give us a kiss!

These two are now out on the date they should have had like 10 episodes ago! There is the kiss. I love it!     

Ah this is so adorable!

 After sharing this legendary gossip with her sister we see the whole gang together to watch a show. Awh everyone is so happy. Especially WenZhao after LiuQing tells him she has been looking for him as well! Also that man who shouts “Who is littering?!“ made me laugh really hard for some reason.

Our YuBing is casually starting a store without a shop. Outside of her house. ZiYan is handing out flyers at the old store to get business for her. This time HE finds the new business idea for her. Her thank you kisses I count as 0.5 kiss!

YuBing is very suspicious and it is a tiny bit warranted.

Man is so .. shooketh. No other word!

She is so happy. Until half the food she delivers is cold. But .. new idea .. lets employ some kids！Well LiuQing is not on board with that idea. A’Guang even says YuBing looks very shady and I laughed. Ofcourse those three old geezers bully the children as the newest challenge for YuBing and her business. One of them even stages a scam accident! Because our girl does not bow down they sue her. Luckily Xue Mu is on the right side for once. Not only that but she once again shows what a good person she is to others and starting a delivery alliance with her accusers. While YuBing and LiuQing are patching things up again because YuBing wants to help her fix a school for the kids and LiuQing tells her the kids actually like delivering food so they don’t want to stop, the future is bright. For a hot second. 

Because one bad thing is over for one second and now .. there is malaria in the town. How did it find the way into the town from the soldiers? ZiYang explains! Mosquitos! 

The town looks like a plague town and ZiYan and the two sisters are now locked in the inn. They are not allowed to come out, problem! A‘Guang runs like the wind to get the word out.

Both Papa’s are worried and WenZhao goes out, malaria be damned to beat the drum. Are those drumsticks laced with razor blades or something? Why are this man’s hands bleeding so hard? Anyway he is out there beating the drum for justice! When Xue Mu hears YuBing is inside the man is immediately stressed. He was fine with everyone else dying but when YuBing is on the line .. man immediately mobilizes his people. He brings herbs and food and comes to take YuBing away. When she tells him no again we see something finally snap in that man’s skill akin to ”fine, then die here for all I care”. YuBing doesn’t care, she will not leave her husband.

This hug is amazing and it gave me all the happy feels.

Now Xue Mu turns the Rain Terrace into a quarantine and it looks bad for our favourites. Can we slap Lan again? Heaven hates their evil? GIRL! Get wrecked! While Lan asks Cousin for help finding her brother, yes he wants to find him too Lan .. but not alive, he promises to help but 10 seconds later Lan gets a rude awakening. Good!

She'll ask her own people to find her brother. This whole scene was so funny!

More patients keep pouring in and when YuBing speaks out ZiYan steps in to protect her.

Xu ZiYan is getting a masterclass in \"what will happen if you really piss off your wife\". That face!

While he blames Xue Mu.. YuBing keeps protecting him. Luckily she gets called out on it. But bad new people, LiuQing is taking a turn  for the worst. After ZiYan heals her we see that he is on the verge of collapse himself. While Lan sends out loyal servants to find her brother there is a small mutiny in the Rain Terrace. While ZiYan finds the cure we see Papa Xu sassing Papa Ye again! For NO reason whatsoever!

Why are you sassing this man so much Papa Xu? Papa Ye is a GEM!

These two old geezers make me laugh! Papa Xu saying not even a dog will take a step in Papa Ye’s mansion again and then two seconds later comes back with a gif while he is making barking sounds. What is going on!

Everything about this interaction / scene makes me laugh!

We see this adorable couple fall deeper in love and tell each other to take care of themselves. My heart! 

Look at this people!! I love them!

Good news! LiuQing is saved. So the recipe works. ZiYan asks WenZhao to bring the recipe to Xue Mu but that man is deplorable as always and says no. So WenZhao, being an amazing bean, makes packages of herbs himself and brings them to everyone! Only when another official is coming to visit will Xue Mu do something. I sound like a broken record but I have to say it again. I hate that man! He is scheming and making himself look good by putting on a big act. While at first ZiYan was overworked and tired he appears to be really sick now. Not taking any herbs himself. Sir.. SIR!

A’Guang brings bad news to the inn, WenZhao is arrested so LiuQing is ready to go to battle even though she has just recovered and ZiYan faints for real now.

While we see Xue Mu being praised for work he didn’t really do LiuQing is knocking out guards to save her future husband. Not only that but YuBing seems to have remembered being fed medicine like a baby bird and is now going to return the favour. Or not haha, girlie gets a suprise dose of medication! 

Clearly the baby bird medicine feeding technique isn't easy and requires nerves of steel!

WenZhao is out there trying to bribe a prison guard and almost becomes someone’s wife! I think our guy is noping out of that one. In my headcanon that guard is now returning back to his spicy romance novel, being a romantic at heart!

Thoughts on the previous episode
Why did we start this show again? (I am sorry everyone). Can this train of annoyance be stopped at this point? (I doubt it at this point). What are we doing to ourselves？(Special kind of torture). Should we stop watching this? (Maybe). Will we? (Probably not…). Thank you all for staying with me while we finish this! 

Recap 
So not only is LiuQing arguing with her sister but also .. WenZhao. Almost like she is the common denominator this time. While WenZhao and YuBing are finally on the same page about Jiang we see her being knocked out by, suprise suprise, Xue Mu. Looks like she won’t get proof today. We see ZiYan in jail having a heart to heart with Xue Mu about his misdeeds and in return he gives him bad news about YuBing. Announcing that since ZiYan doesn’t want her .. he will take her. Ugh dude, just stop!

Xue Mu left her at the door like a sack of potatoes! Does that man even care about her? But at least our goodies are on the same page again. Jiang is bad news! When YuBing talks to Papa Xu she tells him it was always a contract marriage but he tells her that doesn’t matter. The store is hers so she can do what she wants with it and she will always be his daughter in law, oh and since he is visiting ZiYan in prison later she might as well come along. Well .. we see ZiYan being an absolute jerk to her, saying he doesn’t have anything to say to her.

Just rude really!

We know it is because of Xue Mu but it is good for ZiYan that there are bars between him and his father. That man is ready to fight for his daughter! While ZiYan keeps pushing her away even when our girl makes the cute accupoint pressure heart we see Xue Mu watching.

The deal was to always back her up when she did this!

ZiYan says mean things to his ex-wife but she still vows to save him. So the man bites his own finger and writes a new divorce letter (whilst crying!) on cloth from his prison uniform. Can that man be any more extra? With some more mean parting words she leaves. Xue Mu needs to be punched in the face.

But YuBing’s store is returned to her. Hope it was worth it ZiYan! After a moment of realisation he wants to see Xue again. Telling him to be kind to YuBing after he dies, to care for her, to feed her medicine and to NOT spend her money that she earned. He shows he knows YuBing better than Xue Mu now but Xue does not appreciate this lesson at all. When ZiYan tells him that YuBing is sick .. man barely seems to care. He only cares about obtaining her, not really what happens with her afterwards. That vile man! But for her ZiYan will get on his knees *wink*. Xue Mu basically says he will care for her for the rest of her life, however short that might be. With a typical villain laugh that man exits the jail. 

Finally someone looks at the letter and turns out ZiYan has a doctors handwriting that only A‘Guang knows how to read. They have a lead and set out to do an autopsy. Our sisters are on the case! To prove ZiYan’s innocence they will bring uncle’s black throated body to the judiciary building.

The duality of these two sisters!

Girlie.. one is in jail and the other doesn't know. How are they going to dig the graves for you? Also .. love YuBing's motivational speaking!

The officials are not happy to find a corpse on their doorstep, I do get this emotion. Doesn’t matter anyway, case is closed and ZiYan will be beheaded. I any case LiuQing is not carrying that coffin back and bullies the official into cleaning up that mess. 

Papa Xia is being an absolute jerk again and Xue Mu as well. She doesn’t care if you will always be with her, you jerk, she wants ZiYan to live! Also take your filthy hand off her! 

I laughed so hard during this!

On his last night in jail ZiYan is having a bad time.

Man is in a little delulu that she is here after all the mean things he said.

Not that YuBing’s evening is any better. DemonLord / GuGu tells her she only has one day to live and when she says she needs to save ZiYan first he asks whose life is more important. His or hers. I think we know what that look means, she deems his life more valuable than hers. They are both doing the noble idiot thing. I hate it! 

While Lan and Xue are watching the execution from up high we are getting the only bit of humour this episode when all our favourites stop the execution by laying on poor Ziyan.

Maybe her head will stop the chopper?!!!

Ironically almost crushing him to death in the process xD. First YuBing, then WenZhao, then LiuQing getting in between YuBing and WenZhao and then lastly A’Guang.

Man looks so done!!

This is all taking so long that ZiYan is wondering if he can’t be executed in peace. Turns out no since the execution is stopped by a purple robe wearing guy and Papa Xu! Our saviour!

During this quick court session the conviction is overturned for ZiYan and Lan get’s told off for being a sassy bench in court. Everyone is so happy and YuBing thanks Xue Mu for all his HELP. That was a really fast way to get my blood pressure up, what the hell.

Yes! Everyone is happy!

Turns out purple robed guy is a connection of Papa Xu because he saved his life. Even after she saves him, ZiYan pushes her away. Causing my not lowered blood pressure to get even higher. Just at that time YuBing faints and she is sure she is dying because the sand has run out. Queue the most heartbreaking goodbye, where she asks him to bury her in a place where she can see the sunrise and to carve “Wife of Xu ZiYan” on the tombstone, oh and she loves him. His response made me sad, made me tear up. Turns out … girlie is snoring and not dead at all and ZiYan walks off in the most indignant way that had me laughing again.

While ZiYan discusses his theories with WenZhao, YuBing thinks she is dead and wonders why A‘Guang looks like GuGu. Turns out her saving ZiYan propelled the comic to the top of the popularity list and the hourglass could be turned around, buying our girl more time! 

Poor A'Guang.

Now she just needs to speak to ZiYan, who keeps avoiding her. How is he getting out of the mansion without her noticing? Girlie is stalking that house like a pro at the stand of a fortune teller. So much so that she can even take his job now and tells his fortune. He almost got away with it .. but then he turns around when she calls his name. What a doofus! I love the look on him though!

He is a very pretty girl .. although really tall!

To explain why he can’t be with her .. he pulls out that comic from his basket. Is he just carrying that book around?! YES! He tells her he loves her and finally another kiss! Everyone is shocked and the newspaper is drawing the scene!

Did the rest of them just see two ladies kissing? Also the news is documenting it all!

After almost getting another kiss we get blocked by ZiYan himself AND Papa Xu.

He called her a naughty girl!! Only to be blocked by his dad xD.

He throws on the best drama! Man is negotiating like a pro again… man wants 3 grandchildren in 5 years! Writing checks that YuBing’s downstairs probably does not want to cash! But ZiYan is down and wants to start immediately! Turns out dad is also okay with 2 grandkids in that timeframe. But ZiYan thinks there is no need to delay! I love these interactions!

The next morning ZiYan is gone. A’Guang says he went to the Ye Mansion and gets the hell out of dodge. Later that afternoon we find that WenZhao is just covering for him and he and A’Guang run away again. Not only that but how is there a trail of coins appearing?! We know girlie is never really in the business of  turning down money and hubby knows that too. He lures her to a beautiful garden with a swing (man knows her so well!) , plays the flute for her and these two look delightfully happy. Also.. what in the weird sky kiss is this?! I mean I’ll take it after all the misery we had but it is so extra. Is this show making up for lost kisses? There is a third one! 

Why do A’Guang and WenZhao keep peeping on those two?! But their revenge is sweet. Man is thirdwheeling like a pro and ZiYan is totally being extra for her but okay with WenZhao eating poisoned cakes xD. These two are being disgustingly sweet, I can’t blame A’Guang and WenZhao for being done with this couple haha.

Why is this too much WenZhao? You were enjoying it last night?!

YES! She gets bitter medicine again .. ofcourse ZiYan is making this sweeter for her with the “feed it to her like a baby bird” technique. A’Guang thinks being in jail is better than watching that nonsense but I think it is better than the misery we endured the last couple of episodes. But don’t think this makes up for the misery you put us through Rewriting Destiny. I am still vexed! 

Jiang turns out to be relatively easy to catch when our couple works together for a change. Finally ZiYan is out there poisoning someone else than his wife to get them to comply. But it is the same poison he used on her. But Jiang is a sassy bench and it turns out it isn’t a real poison. Does that mean he never actually poisoned YuBing in the first place? Is Pookie actually a delightful person?!

After we see YuBing using different incentive techniques to get information from Jiang the most annoying cousin Xue sends Lan with food. Which is ofcourse poisoned. The episode ends with Jiang dead in the custody of our gang.

Thoughts on the previous episode
We are well and truly done with ZiYan’s plan to protect YuBing. My guy you have a mouth .. use it! We are also not happy with WenZhao .. guy … you can read .. stay out of the store! Let’s hope things get better soon.

Cousin is there taking care of our girl and .. I HATE IT. Remove yourself from that room guy! YuBing is lying her hole off to her sister. She couldn’t sleep because of the thunder? I don’t believe it for a second. She missed ZiYan and was stuck in the wrong house. 

While LiuQing is giving ZiYan the third degree, lady YuBing knows the BEST revenge is to look impeccable while being polite and detached. Must hurt like a truck though. But the tables are turned when she tells him she is living with Xue Mu. Sorry ZiYan but you lost the right to say anything.

Girlie is rightfully done!

Not only that but he has NO IDEA how long it takes to pack all his stuff. Why would A’Guang be done in like 2 minutes sir??! Everyone looks unhappy.

After some speed packing they best get lost! Poor everyone!

LiuQing is right .. (sometimes) Men are Jerks!

A bit of an all encompassing statement. But when one fucks up this is what it feels like!

Reinforced by the arrival of WenZhao (rich jerk!)! 

All guys are jerks .. again!

I laughed so hard at this!

While Xue Mu (the biggest jerk!) is trying to cheer up YuBing .. he is scolded by her father (old jerk!). At least Mu looks properly uncomfortable by this conversation. When he speaks up, Old Jerk tries to rekindle that old engagement. YuBing shuts that down hard and fast! Old Jerk really needs to learn to keep his mouth shut. Old, used stuff? Sir… SIR… UUGH. Xue Mu really does his best to cheer her up with a memory and showing her the peach blossom. Also .. “Some of his words were wrong” Xue Mu? No.. ALL of Papa Xia’s words were wrong! 

While I know he is a baddie, I will use this gif a lot in the future!

YuBing is on her next money making plan. I believe they are lessons for other business owners. Let’s see how well that goes.

From now on .. YuBing only cares about her career.

In the middle of spreading the word .. girlie faints and our favourite ex-husband is watching her. After saving her and then finding himself in the same room with her thanks to WenZhao .. the man proceeds to dig himself a bigger hole with the help of Lady Zhao.

You can see on his face .. the moment he knew he had fucked up in this conversation. I love it!

While Papa Xu threatens to beat up his son again, YuBing corrects herself and calls him Uncle again. I think she broke that man’s heart with that move. While ZiYan is lowkey being abducted by Lady Zhao we see a man watching them.

Is someone pulling strings? And no girl .. you do NOT have a chance even though he sent YuBing away. While Lady Zhao is out there basically threatening mutual destruction to Xue Mu if he keeps on harassing Xu ZiYan .. we are all here worried for her safety .. right? That man is .. dangerous. Now.. where is Jiang off too? 

While YaoZu is being tossed out of a gambling denn without his clothes, someone is there to help him (also .. this is how rich noblemen lost whole fortunes I am sure). Now who could that be? Oh and surprise… Lady Zhao is murdered. Who would have expected that? Nobody right? Ofcourse .. the fingers are pointed at ZiYan and since Xue Mu is making the ruling I do not trust anything that happens. Oh apparently this man has been planning for a while. Bribing officials to make ZiYan guilty of poisoning Uncle Xia as well.

What in the WORLD is that pathetic beating? That weak response of ZiYan, those little tappy sounds? I can’t people! This is just hilarious! While ZiYan is dragged to jail and asking the right questions .. WHO switched his medication?! YuBing is going to save her husband. She leaves LiuQing in charge of the store who immediately pawns that responsibility off on Jiang. Who immediately smiles in the most sus way! I am also pretty sure that was not YuBing’s plan! Our two favourite “siblings” go to check out the corps and find evidence of murder that doesn’t point to poison! After that they find another clue .. Alcohol .. but ZiYan doesn’t drink?! 
But it all doesn’t matter. The body has been buried and ZiYan is not getting out of jail. Do we smell a coverup anyone? 

After trashing someone’s self esteem by accident and getting all up in a pair of lovers business WenZhao, again, throws money at the problem.

Everyone needs to be undressed for a bit. The clue leads to YaoZu and while our gang is casually discussing torture it turns out they are just going to tickle him to death. Just as they are getting somewhere.. Lan is back again to ruin everything!

While YaoZu is having an immensely bad time and trying to appease her angry spirit. We see that AGAIN ..Xue Mu is behind all of this. We are again reminded that YaoZu is basically an incompetent idiot but he did not kill her. Not only that but we also find that Jiang and Xue Mu are working together (not really surprised) and why. Xue Mu has been collecting people to do his bidding like a pro. Oh and he also killed Lady Zhao.. and Uncle Xia too. This is the episode of no surprises really. YaoZu overhears everything and that idiot drops his amulet. Man does the first smart thing in a while and makes a run for it. 

Lan is out to anger the person you should NOT anger. I am scared for her safety. As per usual people are ranting at the shop because of a scheme against YuBing. Girl is promptly brought to jail! I love that Papa Ye immediately gets funds to help. Young Ye on the other hand is hilarious when he sees LiuQing standing in his bedroom.

Everything about this is adorable!

He gives her money to help YuBing without question even though his own family is also in trouble because of this. There is a reason I still have a soft spot for this man! Are we seeing a little rekindling? I HOPE SO!

He is still so kind with her. Maybe realise you like HER?!

After getting the money .. LiuQing is on the move .. to get her sister out .. and to .. kill someone’s pet cricket who he lovingly calls 宝贝 apparently. Girl that was savage. When that man gets snappy with her she crushes that poor thing two more times.

That poor man. That poor cricket! I also think she broke character there xD.

All for naught because YuBing has already been released because Xue Mu got her out. Is someone FINALLY suspecting Jiang after he also stole the money? We end this episode with the sisters ready to fight over a man. Girls.. NO!

Another day another crisis should have been the name of this show. Will the troubles ever end? Luckily ZiYan is always there to solve these problems and runs to Papa Ye for some extra money to get more goods. Papa Ye is such a goodie that he helps even though his business is not doing well. Why are those two “old geezers” fighting? Is there any reason?

I love everything about this interaction!

WenZhao also knows something is wrong and is asking his brother to back off so he can investigate. 

Yank! The opposite of a yeet!

Professional wrecking ball Lan is here to ruin all the plans. On the other side of town YuBing is selling her items to gather money. 

Lan is not only a professional wrecking ball but she is also skilled as a gaslighter. Not only does he not check up on whatever he was going to but he also puts away LiuQing’s fan trinket. 

YuBing is a hot ten minutes into the sale of her company when hero ZiYan is swooping back in with the rescue! But that man is also a walking problemcauser like his wife. Did he think tea just grew there on the mountain? Lady Zhao is there to fix their problem with a bunch of cash and YuBing can finally use ZiYan’s own words back to him! Glorious! 

Poor A'Guang!

On no .. LiuQing suffers from the same affliction I do, something I like to call Directional Insanity. She finds the stolen goods and apparently she also finds “beggar”. This all seems incredibly sus to me. Is this bad show make-up or bad make-up in the show? I am not sure but for now let's give him the benefit of the doubt. He does look a lot like WenZhao. Men in this show keep blocking swords with their limbs and I find it incredibly stupid! 
They rat out Xia Lan as the reason they stole the goods, who is shown sneezing. A superstition is that if you are sneezing someone is talking about you. So that is a funny way to remind the viewers it was her

I knew Lady Zhao was not going to give up on her quest to get ZiYan away from our girl. She will pay the costs as long as he treats her privately. 

YuBing telling her sister she did not have to bring 4 guys because she is heartbroken makes me laugh every time! 

Xia Lan is talking herself really smoothly out of an implication and she even brought witnesses. She really IS smarter now and don’t we all find that VERY sus?! I do. Not even a minute later we see why, Xue Mu is involved .. AGAIN. 

WenZhao has SOME NERVE to come back like this after he broke LiuQing’s heart. Does he really think he can skip back into the store like that? LiuQing is out there serving the karma. She has found herself a new man just like he found himself a new lady! 

Sir... SIR!

Are there now people gossiping about YuBing and ZiYan in her own store? Not weird if the tabloid reports on an affair between her husband and Lady Zhao. Someone has some explaining to do! 

“Xu ZiYan it seems you are really determined to end this marriage” and I agree with our girl. But ZiYan is really trying to stay professional and have her not touch him. She even wants to part with her precious money to keep her away from ZiYan! When trying to make him look bad .. Lady Zhao is totally on board with everything he does. Not only does she do that to my maximum annoyment, she also accuses YuBing from holding him back. After that meeting she goes home and hides out in her room. I get it.. I would too. 

ZiYan and A’Guang are adorable to me.

A’Guang is always softly scolding ZiYan into doing better while he keeps threatening him with arsenic of two different colours and docks his pay. To be fair he also gives him back the pay for his honesty. I love these two.

He is bringing her medication but we do not see her take it (does this count as taken medicine? I am not sure) and their conversation in bed is adorable.

Look at how adorable he is! While she calls him a lecher xD. He is warming up to her!

He hugs her .. and when she is sassy and he threatens to go to lady Zhao then .. she hugs him back and tells him he better stay! 

Don't worry girlie. He ain't going anywhere!

When he tells Lady Zhao to take his house as he can’t help her she realises that his love for YuBing is real. Ofcourse Xue Mu can be found in the wings of this play again! I really dislike that guy. 

Who is digging up the corpse of Uncle Xia? This can only be bad! Not only that but who is abducting children? 

Ooh look our favourite Demon Lord is back and he and YuBing are discussing the events. Her store is trashed, some new information has come out about Uncle’s death, apparently our girl asked her husband to poison him. How .. unoriginal. He is telling her to mind her own business and he can’t help her. But why does he always make me laugh? As a thank you she steals a lot of pages from the novel. 
Also did she call him GuGu but then he turned around and called his bird GuGu? What is this man’s name?! 

That servant asks for way too much money and gave her NOTHING! 

Xue Mu invited an IMPERIAL cook to cook for Papa Xia? Not only that but the man keeps spreading fear to him. Trying to get YuBing to divorce that “jinx”. My guy .. if the next conversation shows anything it means that ZiYan brings good things to YuBing’s life and she to his! I love these two together. 
Ofcourse Papa Xia comes in to RUIN everything again. She gives him a good amount of sass, although I think he deserves more of it for trying to ruin her marriage. But she stands strong and says she will NOT be divorcing ZiYan .. and if he is unhappy he best leave then. Girlie is so angry she faints again. ZiYan looks really worried there when checking her pulse and he explains to Papa Xia to NOT make her angry again. If he does .. ZiYan will not be nice to him. 

He is caring for her and she is asking him not to go (my heart!) and then he sees the pages of the novel. On the final page he sees himself and A’Guang burying her. Man is shocked. Not only that but when he is investigating at the graveyard he is remembering that previous life. He can now see Demon Lord’s place and poor A’Guang is having so much stress over ZiYan asking the weirdest questions (like is his wife still alive and did he kill her?). 

ZiYan interrogates Demon Lord and leaves to take care of his wife again. Who is dreaming of him (why does he assume it is a bad dream) and he divorces her. Man what are you DOING?! He gives her everything as long as she divorces him and ofcourse he says all those mean things to drive her away. (While I find it really stupid .. it also tugs at my heartstrings!). The final nail in the coffin is when he says he is madly in love with Lady Zhao. We have the mandatory clenching of fists to show anger and despair and our girl wants to set the record straight … YOU AREN’T LEAVING ME.. I’M LEAVING YOU FIRST! All the while ZiYan is looking like he has swallowed a ball of hot lead and wants to cry. 

Our girl..who was NOT allowed to be angry because she is sick (well done ZiYan, I think she is pissed off now) is stomping off in the rain (also very good for your body) while Papa Xu .. immediately shouts at him to get his favourite family member! 

While girlie is walking around town in a catatonic state, giving us a reason to see all the cute flashbacks, and shouting at gossipy girls she falls down (out of the blue too. Really script?!) and gets splashed by a carriage street water.

This is SO extra …Someone holds up an umbrella over her head. For a second we believe it is our umbrella-carrying-hero ZiYan who always protects her from the rain .. but no, it is Xue Mu this time. He has been waiting for this moment for 13 episodes! ZiYan sees all of this unfolding but let’s it happen because he thinks it keeps her safe. In true Cdrama fashion we see her looking at the place he just left like she knew he was there. 

Still being sassy even when heartbroken!

Papa Xu is distressed, A’Guang is distressed. ZiYan is distressed .. I think EVERYONE we actually care about is distressed by this development. A’Guang brings medicine .. does this count? Since he does not take it as he is not sick.

While browsing through the subreddit I found this post by u/wonderful-divide3031 and just as they googled the song and found out it was published by Olly Murs (love him!) in 2016 I found that these two had a collaboration on the song together with CORSAK in 2019.

I like the original, I love LYN's version. But I LOVE the version they made together! The lyrics in Chinese adds something big for me. Like a blending of worlds.

So .. from this point on the episode recaps are getting shorter. There is less to gif. So I will probably start covering two episodes per post with less gifs. I hope everyone is okay with that. The wigs are bad, the baddies are bad, our beloved ZiYan is getting on our nerves and did I say everyone is bad? Ok good lets get on with the next one.

Recap :

Starting this episode wondering WHY that man has shown up at the store again?! He is not taking a break is he? He keeps getting rejected. Ofcourse Papa Xia showing up there is not a problem for him .. he is the instigator of it all. But at least he comes bringing back the love of YuBing’s life. The deed of her store! 

ZiYan is finally asking Papa Xu for help but the message is “your wife, your problems”. Dude .. help your son get Xue Mu married and out of their lives! 

Man has finally gotten the courage to touch our girl. Pisses off ZiYan beyond anything though.

You know it must be bad when ZiYan asks his father for help!

Just help your child man! Not cool papa Xu!

Xue Mu is plotting again and YaoZu is done with that man in his house. Sadly Xue Mu is learning some more important intel, what is he going to do with that information? 

In the meantime, WenZhao is laying the charm on LiuQing.

Showing her he knows and cares for her. He only remembers what kind of food she does and doesn’t like. Others have nothing to do with him!

Starting to love that man more than ZiYan!

Be still my heart! They are finally going on a date…but what is with that make-up. It is almost on the same level as the bad make-up scene from Love Between Fairy and Devil. That “what” almost killed me when I heard it. Luckily YuBing is there to stop LiuQing from going out. I mean WenZhao would still love her either way but still! It has made LiuQing late though and she even left her sword at home. 

I almost don't recognize LiuQing. I prefer her usual self but good on YuBing for fixing that makeup!

WenZhao is practicing for their date and ofcourse Xia Lan shows up. That girl needs a different hobby. Lan tells WenZhao she is the girl he stood up for years ago and shows him a necklace that she never passed on to LiuQing. Xue Mu is, as always, the instigator in this depressing development. While LiuQing is catatonic from hurt and rage Lan visits the snack store with her new boo WenZhao. The man looks absolutely miserable and it appears that he has chosen that woman over all his friends. Even when explaining it to ZiYan I can’t believe that man is defending Lan. 

ZiYan reporting to his wife like a good husband had me chuckle though! LiuQing has run away on a healing expedition but nobody needs to worry about her. She can handle herself! 
ZiYan again shows he knows perfectly how to handle his wife. Money is usually the answer! Now she has thought up a new idea to make sure people can’t sell her items. Business logos. ZiYan is skilled in everything but business and carves the logo out of wood himself. 

The way he immediately knows what to do to trick his wifey made me laugh!

Xue Mu has been working on the TradeMark act in his office. But of course he uses his insider knowledge to go after ZiYan and YuBing again.

I think this may be the kindest thing he says about Xue Mu! xD

What is happening? Is WenZhao backing up Lan’s lies? I am done with that nonsense. How is he arguing with his friends over that lying woman?! Even the flashback shows he did not see it actually being made. But I am also annoyed with YuBing not thinking Mu has anything to do with this. Luckily ZiYan is around to offhandedly give YuBing another business idea. I was puzzled by ZiYan taking YuBing’s pulse after she kept saying I got it, I got it. But she said the same sentence 3x and so fast that he probably heard the following “(Wǒ yǒu bǎo bǎo le - I have a baby)” Was it just me or does he look disappointed? Fair enough he looks 99% confused!  But how would they be pregnant if they haven’t taken part in baby making activities? Isn’t he a doctor?!

This man has become an expert in getting business secrets from his wife. But to be fair if he said my name like that and pretended to kiss me he could have all the information!

Round two of getting business secrets out of his wife! Very effective!

Both Papa Xu and Young Xu are very impressed with her.

I did not totally understand this business idea. People paid money now to have discounts for the next 6 purchases in the store? I mean I guess? Who else but Xia Lan is out to wreck everything again?! Not those three thugs wanting to get in on the discount action instead of robbing the place! In the end the store is still robbed. This can only be another big problem for our couple to handle!

Thoughts on previous episode
We are having some problems with the character development + them doing stupid things and I am scared it is only going to get worse. I might change to two episodes per post and less / no gifs from episode 12 onward.

New Characters
None

Recap :
Lan has only one setting and it is out on full display again. It is all ZiYan and YuBing’s fault and it must be because they are jealous of her. Not a heartbeat later she accuses LiuQing of trying to kill her own blood. Ironic since she has been pulling out all the stops to make life very difficult for our main couple. This girl needs some introspection. Xue Mu clearly is not very sad about the passing of uncle. A very legitimate response if you ask me! 

At the same time YuBing is asking her husband if he really did not kill Uncle. Maybe it was not her intention but our girl needs to work on her delivery. He just went there to get her store back and now she is scolding him. But he did see something weird, someone fled the room! We see a bit more in this flashback. I am very curious who it is but I have my suspicions. 

The director is having a bad time because he is missing funds while he is going to be audited soon. Luckily our Vice Director Xue has the solution. He is there to throw the Xia family under the bus some more but not without pretending to their face he is going to help Lan and YaoZu. 

While Papa Ye & Xu are meeting with Lan to help her during the tax evasion scandal, although underbidding on her properties is not nice during her time of grief, she is holding the memorial tablet of her father. Mighty inappropriate during .. what I like to think of as a business meeting. Are the Papa’s doing good cop bad cop? Papa Xu should really not kick someone when they are down. It is not a good look. 

Mr. Xue is being told he is probably getting a nice promotion .. but the man already knows. He has taken matters into his own hands and has sold out the Director. Since Uncle Xia is not around anymore he is dealing with the other half who had a big role in murdering his parents. I bet he would have enjoyed it more if Uncle Xia was still alive so they could be dealt with together! 

This guy freaks me out! But he is doing the sparrowing!

This man should not be given any power if the smile is anything to go on!

Because of their money problems YaoZu is cleaning house. LiuQing is out and has found a comfortable storage room to live in, I guess. After this whole ordeal LiuQing officially says goodbye to her father and the Xia family! Luckily WenZhao is there to cheer up LiuQing during this difficult time! 

Girl... no!

Well LiuQing is not the only one out of the Xia house. Papa Xia is being chased because he did not pay any of his bills. Luckily he literally ran into his son-in-law who he is normally not really a fan of but who is suddenly the best guy he has ever seen. ZiYan is a better person than I am because I would not have paid anything for that man. YuBing is immediately giving that man a live in contract. Papa Xu is clearly not taken with the new guest in his house. Especially not after the man starts to put down his favourite daughter in law! I wrote in my notes - “Sir .. we respect women in this household. Are you okay?” as something that Papa Xu was saying with his eyes. The man was beyond angry!  

You are right Papa Xu, relationships can be complicated. These two! Adorable!

The way ZiYan smiles while leading his father away while Papa Xu is shouting to Papa Xia. It is giving \"That is great grandpa, now lets go!\" vibes and I find it completely hilarious!

ZiYan is comforting his wife with the sweetest words and I love him for it! On the other hand Papa Xia is determined not to learn any lessons. When he is trying to educate ZiYan on the fact that he needs to not only listen to his own father but also to him .. YuBing is walking into the courtyard like a woman on the warpath! Nobody talks to her ZiYan like that. Luckily ZiYan does what we expect from him, a man with that shiny spine, and he has his wife’s back. I was so immensely happy by this!

Well done ZiYan, way to have your wifey's back! This man is having some growth finally!

No servant is going to clean up the seed shells for him either. YuBing is set to teach her father some responsibility! 

Sadly Xue Mu is out there negating all those efforts. Papa Xia out here saying there is nothing manly about ZiYan .. I was about to climb through the screen and slap him. Them’s fighting words! Xue is sowing discord in a good (contract-)marriage again! Asking Papa Xia to get YuBing to divorce ZiYan. Papa Xia is a complete idiot because he can’t read the room and shamelessly asks if his daughter has a chance with Ye WenZhao! Not that either of those two want that, not that these two men in the room care one bit about what YuBing wants in the first place. If they did we wouldn’t be seeing scenes like this! Papa Xia keeps putting down his daughter in front of everyone who likes her. Calling his own daughter second hand goods. That man .. needs more slaps than I can give! 

The moment you think he is doing something nice for his daughter, he is only out for himself and Xue Mu. Neither of those two are taking the hint that our girl is NOT. INTERESTED.
