Everybody calm down, it’s what Clara would’ve wanted for 10 years atleast. Why did Clara want this? Only Ymir knows.
AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Do you guys think Dante could theoretically do the same thing?
Like, if he separated his human and demon halves, what do you think each side even look/act like?
Would his demon side be as insane as Urizen, or would it be different because Dante actually embraces both sides of himself way more than Vergil ever did?
What would Dante’s “V” equivalent even be like personality-wise? Still joking around, or completely different?
I’m curious because Vergil’s split felt tied to his rejection of humanity, while Dante’s whole character is kinda the opposite.
Can we acknowledge that these 2 are not the same person?
My biggest issue with the ending of Chainsaw Man is that Denji never actually gets a conclusion to his character arc.
The original Denji went through all the drama of part 1: losing Aki, Power, the Yakuza stuff, Makima’s manipulation, the trauma with his dad, and then even Nayuta later on. He learned things from Pochita, Reze, Himeno, Aki, and all the other people he met. Those experiences are what made him Denji, and what made the conclusion of part 1 so compelling.
Fast forward to part 2 - Denji has multiple static character moments or signs of regressions which…I have issues with but whatever.
if the ending is literally a reset where none of that happened to this “new” Denji, then that’s just not the same character anymore. He doesn’t remember those experiences, he doesn’t grow from them, and he never reaches an actual emotional endpoint, we don’t SEE how all those experiences culminate into this character and what his end point looks like based on said experiences.
And the reset itself doesn’t even match how Pochita’s powers were established. When Pochita eats a devil, concepts disappear and reality adapts around it — it never completely rewrites the timeline and creates entirely different versions of people, if that was the case it would’ve happened whenever he ate anything.
What makes it worse is that Denji’s arc still feels unfinished. He still doesn’t fully understand love, still struggles with self-worth, still confuses desire with intimacy even in Part 2. Denji never really finds lasting happiness or peace in anyway that’s satisfying.
So even in the new timeline, he’s still only got one eye, still a devil hunter, which means death is always close. He still only has one testicle, and he’s not semi - immortal like he was as a hybrid in the original timeline, so he can die easily.
So his life isn’t any better. It would be different if Pochita had somehow, someway put him in a timeline where he actually got a good life and went to school, but no—he’s still in the field fighting with death every day & still a dog for public safety so it’s not any better.
His potential for growth — especially his dynamic with Asa — just gets cut off before it can fully develop.
The story cuts halfway through Denji’s development instead of giving his character a real conclusion.
TL;DR - All of Denji’s experiences in part 1 amount to nothing, Pochita’s powers make no sense, Denji’s life still sucks in the new timeline.
