Such horrible news about Glen Hansard.
I was very fortunate to see Glen open for the band at both 2024 MSG shows and was especially glad to see him and Eddie perform this gorgeous song together.
RIP Glen, may those closest to you find strength, love and comfort in this time.

My Paired Down Foreign Tongues
There’s been some talk about the new album being a few songs too long, so I decided to experiment with editing and rearranging the album for a leaner, perhaps more cohesive album.
I tried to emulate my the flow and length of Hackney Diamonds, which aside from the overall quality of the songs I felt were that album’s two greatest strengths. In particular, I wanted a tad more space in the pacing between the slower numbers and the rockers.
I think the overall listening experience is quite satisfying, but everyone’s gonna have different takes?
And really, who am I to think I can do better than the Rolling fucking Stones?

Who Could Play Mick Jagger?
In a recent interview promoting the new Stones record Foreign Tongues, Mick was asked if he'd be open to a Stones biopic a la A Complete Unknown, Rocket Man, etc. and he said he'd be open to it.
It got me thinking about who could play him; he has such a unique look and charisma and would no doubt be a fairly tough role capture properly. I couldn't think of any 'names' that could pull it off, but as a Stones fanatic I'm open to suggestions.
You could also offer suggestions for the rest of the band.

If The Rolling Stones Did a Rarity Focused Set List at the Sphere What Would You Want to See Played?
With the possibility of live residencies being thrown out, if the Stones were to do a series of shows at the Sphere, would you be down and what would you want to see played?
Since the Sphere is contingent on the audio-visual component,
I tried to design a set list with several songs that have a cinematic quality to the lyrics where the details could lend to some really cool visuals.

Hear Me Out: Cecily Strong as Wonder Woman LP
I know what you’re thinking.
“She’s a comedic actress!”
Sure, but does not really mean anything. Even on SNL, Cecily displayed range beyond just pure comedy. Also, Wonder Woman doesn’t really need to be an Oscar worthy role. She could bring both depth and fun to the role.
The other caveat would be her age, but if they go with an established Wonder Woman over a pure reboot, I don’t see too much of a problem. She’s hardly ancient.
Also, I think she has the right look for the role. She’s tall (5’8-5’9-ish) and has dark hair and solid features for the role.
I’m ready to be flamed, but I’ve seen far worse casting suggestions on here.

‘Album’ Double Features
What are some albums that for whatever reason make good ‘double features’? Thematically, historically, mood, etc.
Here are a few that come to mind:
Come by Prince and Erotica by Madonna
Both were made at rather controversial times in their careers where they used sex as a vehicle for deeper frustrations, both sexually and personally.
Madonna had released the book Sex along with the album and was being slut-shamed and critics accused her of resorting to shock value to keep her career afloat.
Prince was in his legal battle with Warner Brothers when Come was released; while he had written about sexual topics before, songs like Pheremone and the title track were noticeably darker and more sonically aggressive than his early slow jams
Another Madonna album would be Confessions on a Dance Floor, which pairs well with Cyndi Lauper’s Bring Ya to the Brink. Both albums are famous 1980s’ artists (perceived rivals) adapting their style to modern dance / techno sounds and doing it very well. Madonna’s is more aggressive and edgy, Cyndi’s more warm and breezy, but they are both excellent.

Shows Without Covers?
I was listening to the great St. Louis ‘22 show, and when I got to the end of the encore, I realized - unless you wanna be nitpicky with Sleeping by Myself and the Satisfaction tag in Who Ever Said - that this show was entirely originals with no covers.
Has there been another show, at least in the Matt era at the very least, that is entirely PJ originals? It seems like every show has a cover, usually Baba or Free World.
