Does the first LHR session reduce itchy regrowth?

Hey guys,

Some of you may of read my last post about my first time getting LHR on the face and brazilian. But I have a follow up question for those more experienced with LHR.

After your first session of LHR in a new area, does the treatment you had stop the itchy regrowth feeling you get as the hair regrows? I ask this, because I did between the cheeks for hygiene when I did the brazilian. And this has got me thinking that I might as well just get my entire backside done, not just between the cheeks. Considering that it is included in the brazilian service, if I’m not mistaken.

However, I have in the past tried shaving the backside to see what it was like. But, later that night once the hair started to regrow. That was the most unpleasant, itchy sensation I have ever felt when wearing underwear and pants. It was so bad I could barely sit down or lay in bed for about 2 - 3 days. As it felt like ants, or small needles poking me when brushing against any sort of material. And reshaping just prolonged the feeling as it would only provide relief for a few hours until the regrowth came back.

But now that I’m getting LHR, I’m thinking if it’s worth trying again. As before I started LHR, I tried at home IPL on the brazilian area. Which I had in the past also experienced that same itchy sensation and so many ingrown hairs. But when I used the IPL to the first time, I didn’t get that same itchy feeling or ingrowns with the regrowth. And being that LHR is more powerful I’m curious as to if LHR would also prevent that same unpleasantness from the regrowth.

Or was the lack of itchiness and ingrowns, after that first IPL session just a coincidence?

Long post, but any feedback and input would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Male - First time LHR on face/neck and brazilian

Hi everyone,

Today was my first time getting LHR and I did the face and neck. As well as a full brazilian. I thought I’d take a moment to talk about my experience getting LHR removal done for the first time. Both as a first timer in general, but also from a males perspective, as most people that I’ve seen talk about LHR seem to be women, especially when done in those areas.

First off, I’ll start by saying that I was a little nervous and self conscious going in. As I’ve never had LHR done before and while the clinic did advertise that they did offer services for men, I’ve always felt that it is mostly women that go to these clinics. But the ladies that were working were great. They gave me a consult before we started and asked if I was nervous.

I was a little but I said I was fine. The lady that was helping me stepped outside so I could get ready and she provided towels. Once she came back in, she gave me some goggles and she started with the face.

I will say, this was the only part of the session that was rather unpleasant. As when I made the booking for the session, I was told by the lady at reception to shave the areas I was having lasered the night before. So that’s what I did, but by shaving the night before, I had a little bit of growth on the face. And let me tell you, with how course my facial hair can be. That laser HURT. But I pushed through and got it done, where she moved onto the neck.

The neck was fine, up until she got closer to the jaw, then it started to hurt again. I asked her about shaving the night before, and she said that while some recommend the night before. She personally recommends the morning of, so you can have the closest shave you can get so the pain shouldn’t be as bad. I think I’ll heed that advice for my next session.

Then, the part I was most nervous about. The full brazilian.

The lady asked me to remove my clothes, so I did. But of course she was very professional and didn’t do anything to make it weird. She started the session, and I was fully expecting this part to be painful considering how the face went. But to my surprise, this was practically painless. I barely felt anything at all. A total surprise, especially since I’d shave here the night before just like my face. But, I absolutely was not complaining about the lack of pain here.

Now if any men are wondering, yes. She did have to touch a bit so she could manoeuvre the laser around me down there. And the touching did cause it to get \*slightly\* bigger, which I was rather self conscious of and embarrassed by. But as stated previously, the lady was completely professional and she didn’t make any comments, which helped to keep me at ease.

Once done she asked if I wanted between the cheeks. I said yes, so she asked me to turn over and she did it. Overall I’d want to say the entire session was pretty quick.

Once done, she went back to reception and she gave me some advice on the post care and we arranged the next session.

So if anyone has questions about the experience of getting this done as a male, pleas feel free to ask and I’ll happily answer.

And if any other men have been wanting to get any LHR done, please know that yes, the people that work here at these clinics are very professional and polite and are not judgemental at all.
