Getting new license after move

Moved to CA a year ago, got my first CA license in June 2025.

Just moved. Tried to request a new license online after changing my address on the DMV site. It only gave me an option for my license being lost or stolen.

Do I need to physically go to a DMV location?

The reason I ask is I have to fly across the country, rent a truck and move someone out here and I want my license to match all of the records.

Apple Notes not Pasting?

Just have a VERY frustrating issue yesterday and my wife experienced it today.

I created a very extensive amount of data in an Apple Note and then decided that it needed to be in a different note. I stupidly tried to do cut and paste instead of copy and paste. Cut the text, went to the other note and hit paste. I received text from a previous copy exercise, not the huge block of text I spent the last hour working on.

There was no way to retrieve the text I had created. Nada. Could not undo the cut. I was screwed.

Tried doing different copies and pastes, kept getting the older text, no matter what I copied. A reboot fixed this.

This morning my wife experienced the same thing in Apple Notes. Luckily she did a copy and not a cut so the original data was still there.

Wife is on 26.3.1 and I am on 26.5 so this is not a new issue.

Refunding Rewards Tickets?

Platinum for Life (if that matters).

We are booking flights to help with relocation of my in-laws. It's a complicated, convoluted process with plenty of opportunity for someone to mess up all of the logistics.

It feels like my best strategy is to buy tickets with points vs. cash because if something changes or the whole thing unwinds, any changes or cancelations are less severe on an awards ticket. From what I have read, if I cancel the points just go back in my account. I can't see any fees currently in their rules, but I might not be searching in the right place.

I know back in the early days of the pandemic we canceled awards tickets to Europe and it cost us ~$200/ticket or so but got our miles back, which turned out to be a good thing.

Tix are on hold but did not want to push the button unless I know for sure that I can get out of it if I need to.

Location: Children in CA, Parents in TX

My wife's parents live in TX, we live in CA and my wife's only sibling (their child) all live in CA. The parents are moving to CA but in their late 80's/early 90's so it is all they can do to physically get here.

The two children are going to handle selling the house, once they get to CA.

There is a current POA document in place that does say "This power of attorney becomes effective upon my disability or incapacity." So, technically there is a POA, but that does not come into play for the sale of the house as I see it.

It would be infinitely easier for everyone involved if the children just take over the sale, handle all negotiating, sign all of the contracts and closing documents, but the final settlement check still goes to the parents.

Is this something that can be done without a visit to a lawyer or an amending of their current POA? At this point we'd be hesitant to introduce that situation into all of this as there are a million different details floating around.

In a perfect world, can they just sign a document of their own stating that for the sale of the house the children have legal authority? Is there some kind of standardized document? Or are we going to need a lawyer to draw something up?

Thanks in advance.

This is 100% an issue with the TV and not the Sonos Beam. For reference it has been connected to other TCL and LG TVs for years and never exhibited this behavior.

I just bought a brand new TCL 55" TV (55QM6K) and set it up, everything is fine. The Beam is connected to the HDMI marked eARC and it works fine. We use a Roku for everything and the Roku works great with the TV and the soundbar. Volume up and volume down work as expected. Mute works as expected, when muted the Beam light changes to green.

The issue, however, is that if the TV is muted for a long period of time, the mute no longer "wakes up". The Beam's light stays green and the sound will not return. The Roku mute and the TV mute (which will will never use and hide away) do not work. I have to either manually tap the play button on the Beam or power off the TV. This is a deal breaker at this point, can anyone suggest which setting I need to be looking at in the HDMI menu to stop the behavior?
