My personal superhero OCs

A post introducing my collection of what I consider to be my "personal OCs".

I recently posted about Infinix for his 10th anniversary. Over the years I've built up a roster of super-egoes around him based on both myself and people I know, so I though I'd do a little showing-off. :)

All artwork is commissioned from Eryck Webb, an artist that I've worked with since my superhero MMO days in the 2010s. He's put up with a lot of my character shenanigans (especially with Infinix) and I'm really thankful for all that he's done for me.
Aperturion, Caregiver, and Double-Dog originally started out as designs put together from Fabrica de Herois (2014 version).

As introduced before, Infinix is my herosona, and is able to shift his body dimensionally in various ways. As a character, he is not originally from the Earth in which he currently resides, and is a carefree soul who enjoys exploring his surroundings and making friends with others. He is hindered by an inability to speak, which causes others to sometimes misread his intentions, but he always means well.

Aperturion is able to project and control portals from the ring-like instruments on his body, which can also be thrown and returned to him. He is a rival/opposite to Infinix often getting in his way "because he can". His methods lean dangerously towards villainy.

Caregiver is a tribute to the female figures in my family, but mostly inspired by my late mother, who I lost to cancer back in 2017. She has the ability to fly, become invisible and intangible, and project an aura that can heal injuries and calm the mind-- or offensively, if need be.

Double-Dog is a low-level metahuman, a scrappy fighter with invulnerable skin and a nose for danger. (Since this one is only a sketch, he has a mostly brown color scheme and is loosely inspired by my father and a pair of German Shepherds he used to own.)

Thanks for looking!

On ten years of my herosona OC, Infinix

(Art credit in image captions. All images are commissioned works. Some have links to related content: a character theme song uploaded to YouTube by the artist and a (currently very WIP) custom strawpage website with profile information if you're interested in reading about him.)

Next week will be the tenth anniversary since I created what has undoubtedly become my most iconic character, Infinix. He is a dimension-shifting superhero OC I mostly created to be a "face" for my internet presence, inspired by some of the weirder characters and superpowers not often seen in mainstream comics (at the time). The "character" part honestly came much later when I started sharing him around places like Twitter, deviantArt and Facebook and things sort of just spiraled from there, even if I still haven't quite figured everything out all this time later.

He's since become a bit of a long-term project over the years, bringing me in contact with a lot of supers/OC fans and artists, many of whom have become good friends. A lot of artwork has been commissioned over the years, too, and it never gets old to hear compliments from the artists who work on Infinix how much fun they have with it.

Things have been a bit less active for me as the internet landscape shifts away from the old familiar and I've had to deal with some pretty big changes in my own life that leave a lot less time for the fun stuff, but it's always a pleasure when I get the chance to let him take over my thoughts for a while and get something new done up for him (usually commissioned stuff, hah).

Happy for comments and questions if you like.

I'm thankful for the fix.

Before last week's updates to Rogers (EDIT: "together with Shaw") related mobile apps, I was frustrated with the inability to log in anywhere to check any of my account information and it was a problem that existed for me since the merger happened. Couldn't even go on to the desktop site and do it either since it was constantly coming up with a vague "something went wrong" error. I had to make do with the one email notification I had every month to let me know my bill was due, and even then that has failed to be sent twice this year. (Especially important since I barely even remembered my internet term recently ended and didn't even get marketing for a renewal, which seemed odd)

And even the Xfinity Gateway portal on desktop directs you to change settings on the app even after I had successfully done it once via the browser, and I couldn't even get that to work to fix a single typo I put in my wi-fi password! (That kind of small stuff bothers me sometimes.)

So when I tried to open the app again expecting it to fail as it always seemed to do for me, imagine my relief to see that it allowed me to connect my account properly and properly take me to the summary page! Sure enough, the Xfinity app also didn't glitch out at the login screen either, and the desktop login works fine now.

Rogers is by no means a perfect service provider but I at least want to express my thanks for finally solving this issue that has been an inconvenience to me for way too long.

Even though my post makes me sound like a tech-inept old guy, I'm in my 30s and somewhat competent, I like to think. wwww
