Athens Intercontinental review

I think I'm using the proper flair

Sorry in advance for my bland review 😅

Me and my wife stayed at the intercontinental in Athens over the weekend for our honeymoon, it was a quick stay but it was enjoyable. They acknowledged my status like 6 times and that was kinda annoying but that's expected I guess 🤷‍♀️ anyway we got an upgrade to one of their renovated rooms, my expectations were low and I wasn't too blown away, but still fun. Nice view of Acropolis from the rooftop.

We got drink coupons, sadly it was just for beer wine or soda, not for cocktails, but I can't complain.

I wasn't a fan of the shower with no door, I'm a clown and spray water everywhere and an added floor drain would be a good touch for all the water that gets everywhere, the rain showerhead and wand settings were fun to mess with and I was a fan of the green tile.

The surrounding areas of the hotel were in my wife's words "filthy, but not unsafe... During the day" There was a sign and we followed to a restaurant was a fun Grill House, definitely not a fancy fancy place but you can get a really good cheap meal for under 10€ depending what you order. I would highly recommend.

Got to explore Acropolis and the ruins and wander around town.

Overall I think Athens was decent, hotel overall was good, might not stay again due to cost and being so far from the airport

Intercontinental Athens

Update to a recent post I made about a month ago, we were pleasantly surprised to get a bottle of champagne and a small little cake upon arriving to our room. I did sent an email in advance letting them know that it was our honeymoon. The wife was happy with the cake 🙂

Buying iphone in EU

Hello

I did some research for buying an iphone and came to learn that the sim tray no longer exists for US versions, no big deal. Most international versions that I've found seem to be slightly more on the pricey side but that's okay as well, and they include the sim tray which is what I'm looking for. From what I can understand I would be losing negligible features by buying a EU iphone, apple care wouldn't work (although you could probably fly back to the orgin country where purchased and get apple care and get it fixed or send to a friend there possibly -just thinking)

Obviously making sure it's unlocked I can just swap the sim card and be good to go, I'm just undecided if I truly want to use an iphone as my main device and I don't want to switch to eSIM if I can help it

If anyone has any tips please let me know! Thanks

Why didn't I get a stamp?

As title suggests, I flew from Chicago > Athens direct, and didn't get a stamp when going through customs, it's been a hot min since I've done international travel but I'm just slightly disappointed not getting one... Does anyone have any ideas as to why that may be?
