‘There is help available’, if you have the right disorder.
As a society, we are improving with mental health understanding, but now the second you say you are struggling, you get told there is help available.
This is inherently wron. There is lots of help and understanding around certain disorders such as anxiety/depression and some eating disorders (some refer to these as ‘less exotic’). but the second you have a demonised disorder (like a psychotic disorder or PD or Taboo OCD), suddenly you’re a monster and everything you do is a choice. Like I guarantee you, people with severe mental illness that puts them at risk to others, DO NOT WANT IT
