Is a US LLC as a non-US founder worth it?

I'm a non-US freelancer working mainly with international clients, and I keep seeing people recommend forming a US LLC for easier payments, access to certain business tools, and more credibility with clients.

It sounds good on paper, but the more I research it, the more questions I have about taxes, annual filings, banking, and keeping the LLC compliant when you don't actually live in the US.

I've also come across several formation services that claim they can handle most of the setup and ongoing paperwork for foreign owners, but I'm wondering how simple it really is once the LLC is running.

For non-US founders who actually went this route, was forming a US LLC worth it in the long run?

Is It Okay to Make an Invoice Without a Company?

I'm still in the early stages of doing freelance work, and something came up that I wasn't expecting.

A client asked me to send an invoice so they could process my payment, but I don't have a registered business or company.

I've seen a few websites that let you create professional-looking invoices in a few minutes, but I'm not sure if that's all there is to it.

Can you create and send an invoice as an individual, or do you need to have a business set up first?

I'm trying to make sure I handle everything the right way before I send anything over.

If you've been in this situation before, how did you deal with it? Was there anything you wish you'd known before sending your first invoice?

Looking for a CRM for Construction Companies

I've lost count of how many comparison videos and blog posts I've gone through.

Every CRM claims it's perfect for contractors, but once you start reading reviews, you realize every platform has people who love it and people who can't wait to leave.

Before I waste time setting everything up, I'd love to hear from people who use one every day.

What's been worth it?

I need Recommendations on Free Invoice Generator

As it stands, creating invoices by hand is starting to feel like more work than it should be.

Right now, I only need something simple that lets me create professional-looking invoices without spending half an hour formatting everything.

Since I'm still building my client base, I'd rather start with a free option if it does the job well.

That said, I'm not against paying for a good tool. If there's an invoice generator that's genuinely worth the subscription because it saves time or makes life easier, I'm happy to hear about it.

I'm more interested in what you've used than what has the longest feature list.

Which one has been the easiest to stick with, and was there anything about it that made you switch from another option?

What's the Most Reliable SMS Text Marketing Service You've Used?

One of our clients wants to start reaching customers through text messages instead of relying only on email, so I've been looking into different SMS text marketing services.

There are plenty of options out there, but it's hard to tell which ones are easy to work with and which ones simply have great marketing.

The team using it won't be very technical, so ease of use matters just as much as pricing.

It also needs to be reliable enough for promotions, reminders, and the occasional announcement without turning into another complicated tool to manage.

If you've used an SMS text marketing service that you'd happily recommend, I'd love to hear what made you choose it.

And if there was one you couldn't wait to replace, I'd like to hear that too. Those experiences are sometimes the most helpful.

Which Zoho alternatives for small businesses would you suggest?

Hi everyone,

I'm helping manage a small service-based business with a lean team, and we're looking to replace Zoho with something that's a better fit for our needs and budget.

Zoho has been reliable, but we've found that many useful features are locked behind higher-tier plans. We don't need an enterprise-level CRM, so it's hard to justify paying for capabilities we'll rarely use.

We're looking for something that's easy to learn, affordable, and designed with small businesses in mind rather than large sales teams.

If you've switched away from Zoho, what CRM are you using now?

How should we title each owner in a two-member LLC?

My spouse and I are getting ready to form an LLC together, and we're a little confused about how the management roles should be set up.

I'll be handling the day-to-day operations and making most of the business decisions, while my spouse will be an owner but won't be involved in the daily management.

As we're completing the formation paperwork, I'm not sure how each of us should be listed. Should only the person managing the business be identified as the manager, or should both owners be listed in some capacity?

We're also considering electing S corporation tax treatment down the road, so I'm wondering if the way we structure the LLC now has any impact on ownership, payroll, or future tax elections.

Choosing an LLC name. Does it really matter?

Hi everyone! I'm glad I found this community. My spouse is getting ready to leave their current job and open a solo medical practice in Delaware, and we're trying to make sure we set everything up the right way.

From what I understand, one of the first steps is forming an LLC so we can open a business bank account, get a business credit card, and keep all of the startup expenses separate.

My spouse wants to find the perfect name before filing, which I understand because the business name will appear on the website, marketing, social media, and other places patients will see.

What I'm wondering is whether the actual legal LLC name is that important.

Is the LLC name mostly used for legal, tax, and banking purposes, or will customers regularly see it on things like credit card charges, payment apps, invoices, or other business transactions?

I'd really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Salesforce CRM Reviews: Honest User Opinions, Pros, and Cons

Our company is reviewing several CRM platforms for a future implementation, and Salesforce is one of the leading options on our shortlist. It's widely recognized as one of the most powerful CRM solutions on the market, but I'd like to hear unbiased opinions from people who have actually used it on a daily basis.

Rather than focusing on marketing materials or analyst reports, I'm interested in real-world experiences.

I'm especially interested in hearing from sales professionals, CRM administrators, consultants, and business owners who've had hands-on experience with Salesforce over an extended period.

Whether your experience has been positive or negative, I'd appreciate honest feedback about what Salesforce does exceptionally well, where it falls short, and which types of businesses you think benefit the most from using it.

Best Invoice Payment Terms for Large Companies. Net 30 or Net 60?

Hi everyone,

I'm about to start working with a much larger client than I'm used to, and we're discussing invoice payment terms before signing the agreement.

Most of my previous clients have been small businesses that paid shortly after receiving an invoice, so I've never really had to think about terms like Net 30 or Net 60. This new client mentioned that their standard process is Net 60, although they may be able to shorten it to Net 30.

For those who work with larger organizations, is this fairly standard? Have you had success negotiating shorter payment terms, early payment discounts, or other arrangements that help with cash flow?

How do you use an LLC finder to check if a business name is available?

I want to form a new LLC, and was told use an LLC finder or a business entity search before filing.

I'm a little confused about how the process works. Is checking my state's business entity database enough to know if a name is available, or do I also need to search for trademarks before choosing a business name?

CRM recommendations for a wholesale distribution business

Hi everyone,

We're looking for a CRM that's a good fit for a wholesale distribution business. We've tried a few options, but none have handled our workflow very well.

Our biggest requirement is being able to connect suppliers, products, and customers in a way that makes those relationships easy to manage. We'd also like support for commission tracking, email logging, and automating routine tasks like creating new accounts and updating customer records.

Has anyone found a CRM that works well for this type of business?

Best Membership Management Software for Nonprofits with Multiple Chapterm

I'm helping a national membership organization evaluate software that can support both a central office and multiple local chapters. As the organization continues to grow, managing memberships, payments, and events across different locations has become increasingly complex.

We're looking for a membership management platform that can handle both organization-wide operations and chapter-level administration without requiring separate systems.

We've already looked at platforms like DonorPerfect, Neon CRM, and Glue Up, but we're interested in hearing about other solutions that handle multi-chapter organizations particularly well.

For nonprofits or membership organizations with multiple chapters, which software has worked best for you? If your organization routes membership payments directly to individual chapter bank accounts, I'd especially appreciate hearing how your software handles that process and whether it's been reliable.

How quickly can you set up an LLC?

I'm starting a home cleaning business, and I'm trying to figure out when it actually makes sense to form an LLC.

At the moment I don't have any customers or revenue yet, but I'm hoping to start taking on clients in the near future. I know an LLC can provide liability protection, but I'm not sure if it's worth setting one up before the business is really up and running.

Please how long did it take to get your LLC approved, and at what point in the process did you decide to file?
