Issues after spaying
My Cat just got spayed. She’s 8 months old. We came back from the vet 2 hours ago. They put he in a onesie. They tried a cone but she wouldn’t cooperate with it at all. The second we came home, she started thrashing around and desperately trying to take the onesie off, and within 20 minutes she did. I immediately took her back which caused her immense distress and they put her in a new onesie. We’re back home and although she hasn’t taken it off yet, she is still thrashing around and panicking. When her onesie was off briefly the first time, she was completely fine and even ate a little bit. Now she’s refusing to eat and is crying and extremely uncomfortable. I’m confident she’s feeling okay physically but she has always hated unwanted physical touch and I’m pretty sure this is too much for her. I’m terrified she will destroy her stitches if I take it off but I’m also worried she will not eat and or use her litterbox properly if I don’t take the onesie off. Taking it off for brief periods and letting her relax without it is not an option, as I know for a fact she will not let me put it back on. So it’s all or nothing. The vet told me they can’t safely recommend me to take the onesie off.
