Schedule and stress balance

Hi. I noticed I have a problem in creating and following schedules for myself, whether it is for studying or personal projects. You see, the first time I created my schedule, I can only manage to follow it for a week before stopping it. The reason is because I felt like my body/brain needs more rest. Then I thought maybe I overworked myself and decided to tone it down. But after so many schedules I've created, the same result occurs. All because either my body tells me to rest or I'd have a headache (usually during studies). At this moment I don't know what schedule I should make that balances stress and productivity.

So my questions are:

  1. How to create schedules that I can actually follow without deviating from it? And if it's okay to deviate, how far can I go?

  2. Should I really follow my body's needs at some point or is it just no pain no gain, whether it is from the body or mind?

So I'm looking forward to joining this blitz OTB tournament in 3 days. Haven't registered yet because I'm wondering if the increment in this time setting would matter. I'm used to playing 10+0 online (almost 2500 chess.com) though I do play some blitz rarely (obviously not used to the fast pace). The question is how should I treat this time control? Should I take my time and calculate normally because of the two second increment or should I treat it like any other blitz format that has no increments?
