I’m moving to a new city and OGE has sucked ass in the process. I transferred the account to my remaining roommate in the property. We paid our bill on 4/21, then transferred the account to his name on May 1st. I got a random bill of $110 right after I paid, and then he got a bill of $300 that they explained was for Aprils unpaid balance (that I paid on the 21st) plus an activation fee. They couldn’t really explain the $110 I am still being billed, either.

Even if Aprils bill was for March’s coverage, that wouldn’t explain why he paid April’s balance, an activation fee, and we still have $110 of leftover balance. As everyone knows, they’re nearly impossible to get on the phone. Gotta love how they live up to their reputation!

Hey all, I just purchased from Carvana and wanted to share my story. I used all of the exchanges they offered (3 vehicles max) and thought it’d be helpful to share my experience.

On my first vehicle, I got it delivered and the delivery driver pointed out damage that wasn’t in the listing. He was awesome. He kept repeating “I serve the customer not Carvana” lol! I took it in for an inspection and it had been in an unreported accident with unrepaired damage. Missing radiator support, passenger wheel fender, had tire rot, etc. I called Carvana and they helped me through the exchange process and it was very quick and easy. They applied my down payment and my shipping fee to the new vehicle.

Second vehicle I picked it up instead of getting delivered. It took a bit longer but was a cool experience seeing the “car vending machine”. As soon as I got in my replacement vehicle, I hated it lol. It was definitely an impulsive choice because I was rushing to get a replacement. Just wasn’t for me. That same night I started the exchange process again.

The second exchange I had some hiccups — I told them the truth that it just wasn’t right for me. Because it wasn’t a mechanical issue, they weren’t able to apply/refund my shipping fee to this new vehicle. However, instead of just saying “we can’t do that”, the Advocate submitted a ticket requesting for me to get that shipping fee back. It was on a Friday that he submitted it and said it would take 24 hours.

Saturday rolls around and I call in to check on it, the new Advocate resubmitted the ticket to ensure the fee would be applied to my exchange vehicle and not issued as a refund. He said it could be Monday that I hear back. He extended my purchase window so no one could buy the replacement car I was looking at.

Sunday I check my purchase in the app and they added only $300 of the shipping fee to it. The second car that I exchanged (that I just disliked) only had a $300 shipping fee compared to my first $990 shipping fee, so it appeared they only refunded for that vehicle and didn’t check the very first purchase. I paid a total of $1500 and only $810 was applied. I called again and they immediately escalated it, submitted another ticket, and Monday morning the full $1,500 was available for me to use in the exchange.

I was honestly preparing to be SOL because everywhere that I read, it says the shipping fee is nonrefundable and I had basically told on myself by saying I just “didn’t like the car” and that nothing was wrong with it. I was pleasantly surprised about how well this experience went. I am getting my final, permanent vehicle delivered tomorrow and really crossing my fingers that it passes the inspection with my mechanic.

I would definitely recommend Carvana to other people. I wonder how difficult this would have been if I had these same issues with a used dealership local to me. I’m not super pleased about the financing terms being so high, but that’s easy to just refinance later down the road when I get a chance. The hiccups I experienced were to be expected in buying any used vehicle without a pre-purchase inspection or test drive option, so I’m not upset that it didn’t go “perfectly”. I’m just pleased it ended up being such an easy experience!
