ALLY X CORIN YAOI FANFICTION

---
Dr. Corin.
Intelligent, prideful, calculating.
Treating Ally's existence as a disease to be diagnosed, suppressed, and exterminated. Mocking Ally for being his usual reckless, flirtatious, dramatic, "pathetic" self. But most of the time.
His insults are observations made with maybe a bit too much attention
attention... noticing when Ally skips his meals, when he coughs into the sleeve, and when his hands shake.
Corin convinces himself that it is irritation...
It is not.
Ally.
He's charming, self-destructive, sometimes stupid, always stupid, and emotionally evasive. Using humour of his Aura and provocation to survive. Lying constantly about his aura. Not maliciously, but rather defensively.
Turning everything into banter because sincerity secretly terrifies him...
Especially when with Corin.
Every moment of affection gets disguised as mockery. Saying things like "Don't flatter yourself." Or — "I'm not worried about you."
Meanwhile, they're already acting like lovers long before either of them says it aloud.
...
The first thing Ally ever said to Corin was: "You look pretty miserable." They were eight at that time.
Corin was sitting alone beneath the rusted skeleton of what was once a playground slide. His knees tucked against his chest while he read a weathered science book far beyond his age.
The summer air smelled of cut grass and the not-so-aromatic scent of pavement. Children screamed and laughed around them. Bright and careless, without a thought in the world.
Corin didn't give a shit about any of it... but then Ally came.
He was too loud, too smug, too... alive.
He sat on the bench beside Corin without his consent. A popsicle hanging from his mouth. "You look like someone stole your organs."
Corin didn't look up from his book about diseases. "Go away."
Ally chuckled. "See? Miserable. Can't handle my Aura!"
Ally grinned like a victorious retard, making Corin finally glance at him.
Ally looked of messy hair, scabbed knees, and a crooked smile that seemed permanently attached to his face.
Annoying, absolutely insufferable. And yet... Ally, for some godforsaken reason, returned every day afterwards.
Sometimes he talked. Sometimes he simply sat nearby or irritated Corin till he threatened violence with the seriousness of a small dictator.
But somehow – over the years – the bench beneath the slide became their bench.
Neither acknowledged this... why would they? That simple fact would require honesty!
By the time they turned 14, their whole grade referred to them as the "young divorced couple." Corin hated that shit beyond comparison.
And Ally...?
He believed it would strengthen his Aura...and so, he encouraged it.
"Corin would get so jealous easily...!" Ally sighed dramatically whenever a girl or boy approached him."
Corin was ticked off by this. Of course. Why wouldn't he? "I would rather fucking die."
"See?? Possessive!" Ally pointed at Corin and laughed at his face...
One day, Corin nearly broke his nose once... nearly. But the strange thing was that they were always together regardless, even though they claimed to hate each other.
Ally waited outside Corin's classes. Carrying extra pencils because the 'Aura king' keeps forgetting his. They fought over lunch, grades, and absolutely everything.
Yet... when Ally missed school for three days during one winter... Corin became unbearable. Constantly snapping at teachers, ignoring friends, and checking his phone obsessively....
And when Ally finally returned...? Pale underneath the cheap fluorescent classroom lights... Corin hissed.
"You look disgusting like always, bitch."
Ally smirked, though weakly... "Missed me?'
Corin shook his head fervently. "No."
That was a lie...
Then, a cough came moments later. Sharp... ugly... violent. It made Ally bend forward hard enough that it shut up the classroom.
Ally laughed it off afterwards.
"Think I'm dying...?" He smirked.
Everyone chuckled — except Corin.
Because for just a brief second... fear crossed Ally's face. Not fake... like actual fear. But then... it vanished beneath another grin.
...
At 16, they began staying out together late into the night. It wasn't dates or anything like that... it was never dates. Just them wandering the quiet streets arguing about everything that could be imagined.
Ally accused Corin of being an emotionally constipated bitch, while Corin accused Ally of being not only intellectually bankrupt but also bankrupt in Aura.
Sometimes. They sat atop abandoned rooftops sharing cheap convenience store food while the city lights flickered beneath them like distant stars.
And during those nights... things became dangerous. Not physically, but emotionally.
Because the silence began slipping between arguments. Growing into a comfortable silence. The kind neither of them understood...
...
One winter evening, snow drifted slowly across the rooftops of Hokkaido. Ally sat beside Corin, wrapped in a stolen scarf.
"You know," Ally murmured. "You'd probably be handsome if you stopped glaring at people like you wanted the whole of humanity extinct."
Corin snorted. "Bitch, at least I don't flirt with everyone!"
Ally shook his head. "Not everyone...~"
Corin was silent for a moment. Something inside tightened strangely in his chest... Ally looked at him. Not joking for once. Just looking.
Corin looked away first...
"Coward."
Ally said. Sparking another argument.
...
By University, they became inseparable in the worst ways imaginable.
Codin pursued medicine with ruthless obsession, sleeping little, studying like a machine and treating exhaustion like it was a challenge to overcome.
While Ally drifted through literature and philosophy courses with such infuriating ease... charming professors while pretending not to care about anything.
Still... every evening ended the same way...
Together.
Sometimes in libraries, sometimes at tiny cafes by the side of the street. Sometimes they collapsed against each other after another pointless argument.
Everyone around them assumed they were dating. Teachers, friends, classmates, you name it.
Yet they denied it violently.
"ABSOLUTELY NOT!" Ally shouted.
"I have standards higher than whatever this guy is." Corin said coldly.
Another lie*, another* lie*... another* lie*.*
Then... handholding happened. Accidentally they promised.
But that was a shitty excuse.
They were crossing crowded streets one rainy evening when Ally grabbed Corin's wrist to pull him through traffic.
Neither let go afterwards. Walking three whole fucking blocks before noticing. When Corin noticed, he immediately jerked away.
"What the hell is wrong with you?!"
Corin was blushing profusely.
Ally's ears turned slightly red. "You didn't seem eager to stop me though~"
"I was distracted!" Corin stomped his feet.
"By my beauty?" Ally flashed a pose instantly.
"By my desire to experiment on you." But Corin could still remember the warmth of Ally's hand hours later...
...
The symptoms worsened slowly.
Too slowly... and that was the cruelest part yet. Ally learned to hide them. His coughing fits became bathroom disappearances... fatigue became bad sleep... and the trembling hands became jokes.
Corin noticed everything... of course he did. But every time he confronted Ally about it... "You need to see a doctor."
Ally smiled. "Nah man, I'm fine."
Another lie.
At 22... Corin finally discovered the truth accidentally. Medical records open on a hospital terminal... a familiar name... test results... of progressive immune failure.
It was terminal.
Corin stared humbly at the screen while the world around him dissolved and slowed into static... then rage arrived...
A pure... Horrible rage.
He found Ally sitting outside the hospital later that evening beneath the dim orange streetlights. Corin breathed heavily as he slammed the papers against Ally's chest.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?!"
Ally didn't respond... he had none. No joke, no grin just silence.
Corin's voice shook violently. Rage... maybe sadness... it couldn't be determined.
"How long...?" He asked.
Ally was silent before responding. "...since high school."
The words struck Corin like a bullet. Making him actually step backwards.
"Y-You knew...?" Corin looked like he was going to cry.
"Yeah..." Ally looked away. No longer having any of the sweet, charismatic act.
"What was I supposed to say...?"
Corin laughed. Broken... disbelieving. "You absolute fucking idiot. " But... his voice cracked halfway through. And it terrified Ally more than any shouting ever could.
Because Corin never sounded fragile... never. And after that? Everything changed without changing at all...
Still arguing, still insulting... still pretended. But desperation crept quietly into every interaction.
Corin buried himself in his research, ranging from experimental treatments to clinical trials... anything, actually.
He became fully obsessed... and Ally hated watching it.
One night... he found Corin asleep at his desk surrounded by scattered papers and half-empty coffee cups while dark circles hollowed his eyes.
Corin still clutched at his medical notes even when asleep... and in that scene, something inside Ally shattered then...
Because no one ever had loved him this terribly before...
He draped a blanket over Corin carefully, making him wake up instantly anyways.
"You're supposed to be resting," Corin hissed. But... it lacked the earlier seriousness.
"And you're supposed to be sane." Ally countered, making Corin stand abruptly.
"I found another treatment possibility!—"
"Corin..."
"The success rate is low, but if... —"
"Corin......."
Silence. Deafening, heavy... Ally smiled faintly. He always did.
"You look awful."
Corin rubbed at his eyes tiredly. "And whose fault is that...?"
And there it was again... them. Even now... even now... Ally laughed softly before coughing hard enough to stain his sleeve crimson.
Corin's expression collapsed immediately.
"Ally!—"
Fear... raw fear. But Ally quickly hid the blood.
"It's nothing..."
ANOTHER LIE.
Corin grabbed his wrist violently... "Stop lying to me!"
The words hung between the two of them. Heavily... painfully...
Ally stared quietly at him for a long moment before whispering: "I don't know how..."
And for the first time in their lives... Corin had no cruel response prepared.
...
The confession never happened properly. No cinematic declaration... no kiss beneath dramatic rain... just fragments.
Corin brushing hair away from Ally's feverish face at 3am... Ally falling asleep against Corin's shoulder during hospital visits...
Their fingers intertwining naturally now... no excuses remaining.
...
One evening while lying together in the suffocating hospital silence... Ally asked quietly:
"Do you think we wasted time...?"
Corin didn't answer immediately.
Because he knew the answer.
Yes. Fucking yes. Yes, they did.
Years wasted pretending hatred was safer than love, years spent hiding, lying, attacking, and slandering... just for Corin to finally say softly: "You wasted my time constantly."
Ally laughed weakly. "And there he is..."
But Corin's hand tightened around his... and neither let go.
And by the time they turned 25, winter had returned again.
Cold winds rattled the hospital windows; whole machines hummed softly in dim light...
Ally looked impossible small beneath the white sheets while Corin sat beside him reading medical journals he no longer believed in.
Exhaustion had carved itself permanently into his face... he had lost. But simply refused to admit it.
Ally watched him quietly for several minutes.
"Corin."
Corin looked towards him. "Hm?"
"Come here." Ally patted the side of his bed.
Annoyed still, Corin closed the journal and moved closer. Weakly, Ally reached for his hand. Still warm. Still familiar... "You know..." Ally murmured. "You're still miserable."
Corin scoffed. "And you're still annoying."
Both of them paused... then Ally smiled faintly. "Good..."
The room fell silent afterwards except for the distant snowfall against the glass. Corin stared at their intertwined hands desperately, like he could anchor a dying star through sheer force alone...
Then suddenly: "I found another possibility" Corin muttered.
Ally closed his eyes tiredly already knowing Corin's nature. "Corin..."
"There's a specialist overseas and if we can stabilise you long enough!—"
"Corin, no." Ally's voice trembled this time. It frightened Corin more than anything... slowly... ally opened his eyes again... softly... gently... and terribly tired.
"I'll be fine."
Another lie... Corin knew. And so did Ally... and yet. For one horrible moment... he wanted to believe it.
Wanted to believe every impossible promise, even the future stolen from them, every tomorrow they would never have....
Corin's throat tightened painfully. But instead of arguing... instead of denying... Corin finally did the one thing he had never managed in all their years together...
He told the truth.
Though quietly and brokenly... it was real. Genuine. Unfiltered.
"I love you."
Ally started at him for a long moment... then somehow... he smiled. Weak. Crooked... and beautifully familiar. His fingers twitched faintly against Corin's hand.
"Hey... Corin..." Ally said weakly.
Corin looked up. "Yes...?"
Ally paused. "Want to hear Just One More Lie...?"
Corin looked at Ally. His throat tightening.
Feeling his chest cave inward. Because he already knew... still. Like always... he answered him anyway.
"Fine... what is it?"
Ally looked at him quietly... not with fear, not with regret... just affection too deep for either of them to survive properly.
"I hated you."
Those words shattered something inside Corin instantly. Because after all their years of insults, arguments, and bitterness...
That was the most obvious lie Ally had ever told. Corin lowered his head against their intertwined hands, trembling for the very first time. And for the very last time
time...
And Ally, even at the edge of death. Smiled like he had finally managed to say everything he truly meant... even if it was Just One More Lie...
