People who can not tell that no one cares about the story they’re telling

Mostly at work when someone comes to my desk or someone else’s desk and just starts chit chatting, I usually start off friendly and chatty but after a while start reacting less, maybe continuing to click around on my computer, not asking any follow up questions or giving literally ANY input except “yeah” “mm” “really?” and they take no hint at all that I’m not interested. Some people will just go and go and go and I cannot fathom how someone wouldn’t be constantly monitoring the reactions of the people they’re talking to to make sure they’re still interested! I feel like I abort my stories at the very first sign but others hold me hostage.

Life as an old tripod

We’ve had my sweet sweet 4 year old baby for 2 years and rescued her right after she got her amputation upon arrival to the shelter. We don’t know what happened to her leg just that it was damaged. She’s the best, very active and happy and loves life. Sometimes I get so sad thinking about her as she ages and whether or not it will get uncomfortable or difficult for her to move around so much earlier than it would’ve. Wondering if anyone has older tripods who can speak to the aging process.
