I’m so tired of trying to talk to recruiters

Background: I’m in tech (cloud security), I worked with Deloitte for 4 years and then did my master’s in comp sci.
I’ve been applying relentlessly for 3 months with no luck. I reach out to recruiters on LinkedIn and I don’t hear back from them. Ever. A couple of recruiters who do respond say that I have a gap in my resume (which is my master’s degree). I can’t even express how frustrated I am with these recruiters. Most of them have no background in tech and I’m giving up hope honestly as they don’t understand what they’re recruiting for. I’m going to lose my mind if I have to wake up every day, filter jobs, apply to 5 more jobs a day. Day in day out without any luck. It’s quite demotivating.

Secondly, I honestly don’t think they understand what transferable skills are. If I worked on a NIST-based compliance project with a US based critical infrastructure client (which was mandated by the US government), I can handle SOCI requirements.

If anyone has any tips, I’d really appreciate it. Australian recruiters are… something else.

Thanks

Form 19 pending from August 6

I raised my form 19 on August 6 and it’s still showing as submitted at portal. I had also raised a request back in June, before EPFO 3.0 migration and when I go to track claims (old) it shows as under progress.

I don’t believe the old one is being processed because I had raised a request in July, after EPFO 3.0 migration and that was rejected.

I don’t know what to do or how to escalate this. Does anyone know what’s happening? I’d really appreciate some advice. Thanks

Companies should stop advertising for unicorns

I hate that we’re here but I hate how every job requires you to be a unicorn. You should know cloud, full stack, database administration, security, AI, kubernetes, and 10 years experience for a mid level position. Then MAYBE if the recruiter is feeling generous that day, they’ll pass your resume forward for an interview.

The economy is so fucked that these used to be 3-4 separate roles not too long ago. The saddest part is that there are enough unemployed people out there who somehow match this profile and are being hired??

I’m having the worst time of my life after I completed my master’s degree in computer science. Plus 4 years of consulting experience.

Never thought it would come to this but I’m exhausted. Please be realistic with your expectations.

Suggestion: Judges should do post tasting recordings like contestants do

I’m sure the judges would be able to give more insights on what was good, what went wrong, etc after tasting and evaluating all the dishes. If there’s something they don’t want to directly say to the contestants, they can do that here! I wish the judges had more to say.

Do certifications actually help?

I’ve previously worked at a big 4 consulting firm in cyber security and never felt the need to get certifications. Then I stepped away for my master’s and I’m now borderline regretting that decision after seeing the shit-show this job market has become. Wondering if I should get a certification like SC-500 or SC-200 or is that a waste of time?

Resume feedback

Hi all, I know there’s a lot of resumes floating around this sub but I’d really appreciate it if you could give me some feedback on my resume.
I recently completed my master’s degree and I’m (as everyone is experiencing) having a tough time getting to the interview stage. Wondering if I need to change anything on my resume. Thank you
I’m mainly going for cloud IAM, cloud security and risk advisory roles. Tweaking it a bit based on the role but largely it stays the same

Recruiters not responding

Not sure if it’s just happening with me or if other people are also facing this issue where recruiters aren’t responsive at all.
I just send a normal message: Hi __, nice to connect with you. I’ve applied to __ role and have ___ experience. Would love to have a quick chat. Thanks

Am I doing something wrong? Or are the recruiters just being difficult? Would appreciate some tips (without being mean please)
