Mirror finish on aluminum 6061

Hi everyone. Do you know if it's possible to polish 6061 aluminum to a mirror finish? I'm trying to make a pendant. I've tried sanding in circles, sanding with the grain, and cross-sanding. I've sanded all the way up to 2000-grit. I always make sure to thoroughly clean both the piece and the sandpaper before sanding. I've polished both by hand and with a bench polisher. I've used Dialux Orange, Tripoli, and white polishing compounds, but none of them remove the 2000-grit sanding marks (using the bench polisher). Nothing has worked for me. Even though the scratches are parallel, they are still far too visible. I'm starting to think a mirror finish on aluminum isn't achievable. Should I try BlueMagic or some kind of car polish?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

What should I do with my phone?

Hi everyone. Last night, right before going to bed, I noticed that my phone screen (Motorola E22) had come loose—almost to the point where I could pull it off completely. I don't have another camera right now, but the screen opens almost like the one in this photo I found on the Internet. My screen is still attached at the bottom.

I read that this could be caused by a swollen battery, so I didn't dare try to look inside to check. Instead, I turned it off, removed the SIM card, and placed it on the floor. I don't have any important data on the phone, and I was already thinking about buying a new one anyway. Can I just keep it at home like this, or do I absolutely need to take it to a repair shop?

Thanks in advance for your answers.
