There's a lot of posts about crashing / being unable to launch the game recently, so here is a quote from Embark from the official Discord on a method to fix it:

Hey folks,

We’re aware of a crash that has been impacting some players since the most recent Windows update (KB5121003). This is a crash related to how the file inpoutx64.sys, which changed with the Windows update.

We’re working towards a long-term fix that we hope to deploy ASAP, but in the meantime, as you may have seen on Reddit and other places, there is a work-around solution that will safely remove the file in question and allow you to play the game without issue. To do so, you’ll need to follow these instructions:

**Step 1: Stop and delete the service**

🔸 Open the Start menu in Windows and type ‘cmd’ to find the Command Prompt

🔸 Right-click on the Command Prompt and select `Run as Administrator`, this will open the Command Prompt window

🔸 In the Command Prompt window type `sc stop inpoutx64` and press Enter

🔸 Then type ‘sc delete `inpoutx64` and press Enter

🔸 You can now close the Command Prompt window

**Step 2: Delete the system file **

🔸 Open File Explorer and navigate to `C:\Windows\System32\drivers\`

🔸 Locate the file `inpoutx64.sys` and delete the file

🔸 If Windows says the file is open, you’ll need to repeat step 1

🔸 You can then close Windows Explorer

**Step 3: Clean your registry (this is an optional step)**

🔸 From your windows desktop, press the Window Key + R, type `regedit` and then press Enter

🔸 Navigate to the entry `HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\inpoutx64`

🔸 Right-click on this entry and delete the `inpoutx64` registry key folder

🔸 Close the window then restart your computer to finish the process

This should resolve the issue and allow you to keep playing the game without crashing.

I thought it might be fun to start a "Clip of the Week" Award for Gameplay Clips posted here that display some form of impressive/funny in-game moment, as rated by the community. The Award will be given to the Top Upvoted Video Post at the end of each week, likely resetting Sunday evening.

The Rules are simple - any Winners must:

• Be your own Gameplay / Point of View
• Not contain any offensive content (chat toxicity, racism/bigotry, etc)
• Have the "Video" post flair (required for sorting)

The Winner will score themselves a fancy "Clip of the Week - Winner 🏆" Flair (shown on this post) for the Post and assigned it as their User Flair, and a cash prize of $1-- oh... hold on.. No cash prize? Okay, just the Flairs I guess. If you already have a User Flair it will overwrite it, feel free to change it back if you don't like fun.

I thought about doing a Winner Announcement post, but because it will already be the top upvoted video of the week most people will have already seen it. Maybe a crosspost to just highlight which post won that week? I'll workshop it.

There's been a large influx of short rant posts about... Well, basically every topic that belongs in the Pinned Weekly Megathread (Top of sub). I'd like to highlight a few of those topics real quick, as they will be enforced more heavily now due to the sheer amount of posts about them:

• Matchmaking sucks

• The Wheel is (bad)

• Smurfs are everywhere

• Someone said a mean thing to me

Any posts about these topics that are made in a raging, ranting or complaining way will be removed. Report people in-game, not on Reddit.

To comment as well, this isn't "sweeping issues under the rug", or whatever other conspiratal narrative you want to conjure. Some are legitimate issues with the game lately, I agree. Embark: Matchmaking is honestly the worst it's ever been. I'm just tired of seeing 30 posts a day saying the same shit.

The sub is here to discuss the game and share content, not be a place where you dump your frustrations on others.
