Street triple 675 vs 765

I have two used bikes in my sights, one is a 15k mile very well maintained 2014 675r or for 800 more a 9k mile 2018 765 rs. Which would you buy? I’m leaning towards the 765 but I know I’d be happy with either bike.

Update: finally got the owner of the 765 to call me and we’ve come to terms. I’m meeting tomorrow, I’ll update with a pic when I get back, thank you for the input.

Starting issue pls help

Hello I am currently having a starting issue on a 2014 Daytona 675 I replaced the starter solenoid and it still is having a click no crank and no start. It bump starts I checked battery and it’s good. I ordered a new starter motor that is coming in the mail soon any ideas what else it could be if that doesn’t fix the issue. I went up to the canyons it was running good. Stopped at the top of the canyons for a bit to take a water break went through the rest of the canyons and back down. After went to get gas and it wouldn’t turn back on. It would crank slowly. I thought it was a battery issue so I tried using a jumper but it was pulling no juice from the jumper. After letting it sit a little longer it wouldn’t crank over and it would just click by the solenoid. Thanks!

New to me, 2017 speed twin

Got me a 2017 Speed Twin with 6k miles. I was looking for a Bonneville but fell in love with how nice the speed twin looked. Rode it around the block and loved it even more. The guy who sold it to me gave me few other accessories like Lets roll dolly and jack and extra oils and the original seat. Super excited to ride, other bike is a 1975 yamaha rs100. Update: Apologies meant to say Street twin and waiting on registration, so not riding anywhere yet without proper gear. Just a picture with it.

Speed Twin 1200 is part of my heart.

It's been 7500KMs and keeps me going! Bought it this year at the begining of May and what a heartful addition in life.

What tires do yall run

Looking to get new tires for my 765rs. Do alot of spirited street riding and an occasional track day. What do you guys recommend? Been looking at q5s. Also is this front tire still safe to ride on?

Safety gear for new riders

New rider. No real community outside of here so…..

What should I be looking for in safety gear? Actual brands would help. As I search, or just pursue IG there are endless ads for gear, but which stuff is actually good? What gear will actually keep me painting the road in skin?

There seems to be a ton out there and they can’t ALL be the best.

Obviously this is coupled with good education and habits, but gear will matter at some point.

Bar End Mirrors

I have a 2024 Triumph Street Triple R with OEM Heated grips. Looking for bar end mirrors. Any suggestions. The dealer won't let me install the factory ones. Thank you.

Is that an Xpipe?

Bought this 2018 Street Twin off a dealer a few weeks ago and just today I decided to fully look at the bike and check every detail of it. When I looked under it I found a bash plate and underneath I noticed that the CAT doesn't look like the OEM ones and looked like an X-pipe.

Was planning on buying a slip on but if it's an X-pipe I might just leave it be. And since I found out so late should I do the 12minute tune on it (run it for 12mins to adjust the ECU) Or should I just ride it as normal?

Check engine light 😪

Hi all, 2025 street triple rs, check engine light came on the other day, still runs fine, didn't get any coughs or spluttering when it came on. Done the 3 warm up cycles and its still there. On the earlier ones you could interrogate codes on the dash. Does anyone know if its still possible or am I going to the main stealer

[400X] 3300km camping trip across France and Spain

Just finished this amazing 2 week camping trip and I wanted to share some data about fuel consumption and answer any questions some people might have about the scrambler 400x!

We were 2 people on the motorcycle (total weight of 120kg) with the following luggage:

- 10L tank bag

- 25L side bag

- 40L roll bag

- 20L bag on top of the roll bag

- small homemade toolbox on the exhaust side

Fuel consumption:

3300km total (2050 miles)

138 liters consumed (36.5 gallons)

Averaged 23.86 km/l (56 mpg) almost all of it fully loaded

Average gas price: 1.89 €/L

I'm very happy with the 400 and it handled everything exceptionally. I'm now ready to move on to the 1200 XE!

Speed Triple RS; my 1st Triumph

Just bought this 2022 Speed Triple RS and took it for its first proper ride. Wow what an engine! Definitely too much for the street though it’s very fun. Coming from a Ducati Monster 1100 evo is interesting; that thing is a torque monster and yet this has more. It feels like the Monster’s punch of torque at 5k-6k… then it just keeps going!

Haven’t sold the Ducati yet; needs some work as always, so I’ve decided that I needed something more reliable to ride while the Ducati becomes more of a project.

Not to say this bike won’t have small projects. Needs some work with paint restoration and removing some interesting stickers.

Any suggestions from owners on bar end finishers? The OEM parts are gone and the lever guards aren’t necessary for me.

Back on the road in the U.S. of A!

I live in Thailand but went home to visit my folks and man, I’ve missed these mountain rides and my Triumph so much. I’ll eventually bite the bullet and buy one in Thailand! But for now, it’s good to be home!
