I have been touring in my 2017 street twin across the US. Have gone about 4,000 miles the last two weeks through very intense conditions. Death Valley, Grand Canyon, Rocky Mountains, off roading on dirt gravel and sand. Been through a couple rain storms. Been trying to take care of the chain and clean / adjust it along the way but I definitely have been pushing the bike. I have extra weight as well. It’s my first bike I bought it used.
I am curious if you think the chain and sprocket need to be replaced before my last leg of the tour. I have 600 miles left. I was going to take it in for a full tune and maybe have the chain and sprocket replaced depending. But is this safe to ride?

Been looking for a street triple 765 for a while now and seen this ad on autotrader. Its a 2017 RS model with 16.5k miles on it with a 4k mile 2021 engine.
I asked what happened to the original engine and who fitted the new engine and they replied with: "We had sold the bike to its previous owner the engine then dropped a valve so we refunded him under our warranty. We then waited until we found a good low mileage unit which we fitted to the bike."
I asked for service history and asked if it will be serviced before selling, they wrote: "The bike has a recorded service history - 7 stamps in the book and we have serviced the bike when we fitted the replacement engine."
Is this a good deal? Theyre asking for £5.3k which seems like a good deal on paper, but when i go to sell the bike in the future this will be viewed as a negative
Hi all. I’m hoping for a little guidance. With recent inflation and daycare kicking my butt financially, i think im going to have to sell my late father’s motorcycle. It’s a 2012 Triumph Speedmaster. He used to ride it a bit in California but was garage kept since he moved back to Texas, for the most part. He’d ride it once in a while and had it serviced a while ago. We started it up last fall when we had to move it from his house to mine. Aside from having to charge the battery, she fired right up! We didn’t see any signs of rust in or around the gas tank, but there is some on the exhaust/tail pipe.
I kept it with the intent to learn to ride it, but i just haven’t had the time and debt is starting to climb. It’s only got around 2500ish miles on it. It’s got leather (?) saddle bags and it’s so fun to ride (I’ve only ridden passenger tho). I don’t know a whole lot about motorcycles so I’m hoping for some honest feedback.
How much do you think i should list it for? I believe i have a cover for it in my closet and his riding jackets. It breaks my heart to consider selling it, but times are so tough. I’m biased because of sentimental value.
Thanks in advance.
2022 765 RS with only 481 miles on her. Had her since new. :-/
Doss anyone know where I might be able to find a black cover for the silver intake section?
I purchased this 1997 885 'Steamer' Tiger in 2013. Spent a lot of £ having it professionally rebuilt as you now see it's current cindition. In 2020 I agreed to part with it to someone close to me for an agreed price so long as they gave me first option on buying it back at the same price if ever they decided to move it on. Four years later 2024 they forgot the agreement and sold it to a national dealer. I was angry. Here's the weird thing. Some weeks after that, by chance, I spotted it for sale in a local dealer. I bought it back at less than the price I agreed with the guy I sold it to in 2020. Is that karma? It has been with me for two further years. Should I sell it or keep it?
Hello Guys, id like to buy an new Speed Twin. I headed out to my dealer for a Speed Twin RS test ride and i was blown =) i asked for an offer and he offered me the new RS for around $16195 and of top of that he came around the corner with the 2024 Speed twin 1200 for $12500. this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqfZ2Aw5Fnk&t=23s
i have to admit i like the red/grey bike also very much.
i first checked the RS becaue i need a good daily, which can give me some fun at weekends as well. the 2024 seem to be a bit more ...comfortable?
both brand new so i cant testride the 2024 model. Any advice from you guys? which one would you choose? What are the big differences between these bikes?
thank you very much!
Hi all,
I'm considering buying a 2013 Thunderbird, I wanted to post and see if anyone had any tips for anything to look for beyond obvious stuff? I checked the belt and it looks good, no glazing I could see. It's got about 37K miles on it so I'm assuming a valve adjustment will be necessary/precautionary if I buy it along with fluid changes.
Any other ideas? Is there anyway to know by looking of that alternator bolt recall was done? It's a standard 1600 not the Storm.
Hello there fellow street triple enjoyers. I have recently bought a street triple 765 rs 2025.
The previous owner added a bolt for a central stand. And also removed 2 Covers on the swing arm attachment. I searched every website for triumph parts but cant find how the covers are attached and what part number the covers have. Since its missing one. Maybe any1 can help me out.
In picture 4 you can see the parts schematic I could find. I now atleast what i need to replace the silver looking nur for the central stand. Nr 13,14,6 I believe.
But at Nr. 12 the covers are not shown in black/aluminium which u can see with the yellow str
Hi there,
I’m a dutchy and since last wednesday owner of this beautyfull red diamond.
I’m interested in Some mods.
I’m very short and want some adjustable levers for my short hands. BUT do not want to loose the adjustabality on my Brembo pump.
Who has some tips and pictures for levers?
I also need my shifter to be closer to my peg. So I’m thinking to get a rearset. Curious to what you have on your stripjes.
And can you show me your Bikes?
Thanks in advance!
-Linda
I picked up the bike last month and have been loving it! Great bike you don’t see much of at meets ^^
Honestly I think my only gripe with the bike is that it the wheelie control is ties to the TC but past that I can’t to wait to be able to take it to the track because lord it’s only straight highways in the Houston area 😭
If anyone knows any good spots near by that would be awesome lol
Hey everyone, been lurking for a while and finally found a listing that caught my eye. It's a 2014 Bonneville T100 listed in near me for $4,600 (down from $5,500). Here's what the seller says:
- 36,000 miles, clean title in hand
- Owned since 2021, lightly used, never dropped
- Full 6K service done 6/24/24, oil change 1/28/26, new YUASA battery
- Tasteful mods: TEC black levers, Motogadget Pace mirrors, Motone shifter, Sealight LED headlight
- Comes with Triumph battery tender and windscreen
- Listed 9 months ago — still sitting
A few things I'm wondering about:
Photos look clean and the seller seems knowledgeable. This is my dream first bike. Appreciate any insight from people who've owned or ridden these!
Hey everyone - first time posting here. Need some dual sport tire recommendations.
I got my Bonneville a couple months ago and the rear tire has reached the point where I need to order a new one, so I'm going to change them both out for dual sport tires, as I live in Vermont where the dirt roads are more common than paved roads and it's just my preference.
Anyone out there had dual sport tires on a T120? If so, which ones did you like? I have asked ChatGPT, but I'm never sure Ai is giving me the best choices. That being said, was leaning towards the Heidenau K60, but would love to hear input from other's. TIA!
Any thoughts on this sound coming from my muffler?Happens at the end of every rev. It sounds like a chirp/squeak as the rpms come back down
Edit: Bike is a 2023 speed twin 900
