Need some advice because I’m completely torn between two very different choices.

Option 1 is a Dodge Charger or Challenger. I know finding a clean GCC spec car is difficult, so I’m open to a non GCC car with a minimal accident history after a proper inspection. I also know these cars aren’t exactly the smartest financial decision, but owning one has been a childhood dream of mine.

Option 2 is buying a used SUV with good off road capability and building it slowly over time with modifications. This feels like the more practical investment and gives me a fun project to work on.

My budget for the Dodge is around 50k to 60k AED. For the SUV, I can stretch a bit higher if it’s worth it.
I’m single, so practicality isn’t really a major concern right now. If I get the Dodge, I’d probably keep it for only 2 to 3 years. Another part of me is wondering if I should forget both ideas and go all in on something German like a BMW X5 instead.

For the off road route, what SUVs would you recommend?
What would you do in my situation? Go for the childhood dream with a Charger or Challenger, build an off roader, or jump into a German SUV?

1 Month Post-TransPRK – Distance Vision Better, But Laptop/Close Vision Still Blurry

Hi everyone,

I’m 28 and had TransPRK (Zeiss MEL 90) about a month ago.

Pre-op prescription:
Right eye: -4.50 / -0.50
Left eye: -3.50 / -0.50

Both my surgeon and another ophthalmologist recently examined my eyes and said the corneas are healing well with no complications.

My vision has definitely improved compared to the first few weeks. I can drive comfortably and function normally day to day. However, my close and intermediate vision is still blurry, especially when using a laptop or looking at objects around arm’s length. My vision also still fluctuates somewhat throughout the day.

I’m curious to hear from others who went through TransPRK/PRK, particularly those with moderate myopia. Did anyone else experience something similar at the one-month mark? I’d really appreciate hearing about your recovery experiences, timelines, and how things progressed from this stage onward.

Thanks in advance!

My Abu Dhabi driving license experience (Golden Chance)

Passed my Abu Dhabi Golden Chance driving test today. Here's what went wrong, what I learned and tips for anyone preparing

Applied for the Golden Chance back on April 24th feeling pretty confident. I was a decent driver back home so how hard could it be right? Well fast forward to the night before and I literally could not sleep. The nerves built up day by day until I was a complete wreck. Ended up taking 3 extra classes and even booked one on the morning of the exam itself.

Appointment was at 9am but we boarded the bus at 9:45 due to delays. Already nervous. Then I found out I was going FIRST.

The first route was inside the driving school, the one section I never got to practice. I assumed there would be one examiner since one was checking documents on the bus. Walked in and there was a SECOND one waiting. My mind went completely blank.

Then there was this guy standing at the edge of the pedestrian crossing on his phone, neither crossing nor walking away. Put hazards on and waved him to move. Still no idea if that was right lol. Tried to join the main road and it was fully blocked. The examiner himself told me to use the emergency lane. Got onto the 80 zone, he asked me to hit 80 and immediately called an emergency stop. I had fully accepted I was going to fail at this point.

Watched the others after me and everyone drove for like 3 to 4 minutes max, just one roundabout. Started breathing again slowly.

Van driver told me the first and last person usually gets the most guidance from the examiner.

What I observed is they just check if you are safe and predictable. Think of yourself as a cab driver and the examiner is just giving you directions. That is literally it.

The four things that matter are SMS checks, blind spot checks, roundabout rules and a clean emergency stop. Nail those and you are good.

One last thing. If you practiced in a Nissan Sunny and your test is in a Toyota Corolla, check where the hazard lights are before you start. I was fumbling around looking for them mid test. The gear pattern is also different so get familiar quickly. Do not be me 😭

Good luck everyone. It is nerve wracking but you have got this 🤞

Day 10 After TransPRK: Right Eye Has Significant Ghosting/Double Vision, Left Eye Much Better – Normal?

I'm 28 and had TransPRK 10 days ago (May 23). My pre-op prescription was -4.50/-0.50 (right eye) and -3.50/-0.50 (left eye).

The surgery went smoothly and my bandage lenses were removed on Day 5. I have no pain, discharge, significant redness, or signs of infection. I'm using Optilone steroid drops and HyFresh lubricants as prescribed.

My concern is that my recovery seems very inconsistent. The left eye is doing reasonably well, but the right eye is noticeably worse. Vision fluctuates throughout the day, and the right eye currently has significant ghosting/monocular double vision (side-by-side shadow image). Sometimes blinking or lubricating drops improve it temporarily.

Around Day 8, I started having moments where vision would suddenly become much clearer, but the clarity never lasted. As of Day 10, I still struggle to comfortably read my phone at arm's length, and medium-distance vision is not consistently clear.right eye is completely hazy and have double ghosting. I can't see anything on the computer properly. but i could yesterday
