Greetings folks. I am new to telescopes and have been shopping around to find my first one. I agreed to pay $350 for an apertura 8” dobsonian, and the seller offered to throw in this Meade ETX 125EC and field tripod for $50 more. So now I’ve got two telescopes! I’ve got the Dobson all figured out, it was ready to use and in decent shape just needing cleanup.

Based on some googling, the Meade scope itself needs a power source and the controller for its go to computerization, if it even works. I can’t seem to find a model number on the tripod itself, just a label on the leg that says made in Irvine California. The mounting plate does not seem immediately compatible with this telescope based on what I can see - so I would love for someone more knowledgeable to provide a bit of info!

Just bought a new house that passed its WDI inspection, and recently had it sprayed for all of the standard pests/bugs.

however, we went to start cleaning the cabinets in the kitchen, and there’s this fine layer of dust across pretty much all of the cabinet floors and drawers. It seems to be roughly the same color as the cabinets themselves, which are all cedar or pine.

Is this evidence of some sort of pest, or something else? My understanding is that frass typically comes in piles near exit holes, this seems to be pretty even across the floor of every surface

Prettiest sunfish I’ve ever seen probably. Even brighter in person. Last 3 fish that rod caught before I snapped the tip lol
