Would this make for a good idea or is it wrong of me to hope?

So Im a student, I still have a few years left but in preparation for my college applications I've been applying for numerous competitions and scholarships. For one, I came up with a business idea that basically lets you choose recipes based on ingredients you already possess. My friend also thought of this productivity app and I've been helping her with that.

I've been told how hard the market is, and its not even this specific idea, but am I just setting myself up for dissapointment by even bothering? I've been wondering whether it would be better to just give up and choose safer options, I hear stories of failure every day. Is there any advice you can offer me, not just about the apps, would it be better to give up and quit hoping?

A book with a 'Touch him and die trope'

Preferably no spice, I've seen it the other way around and I love it, but i wondered what it'd seem flipped. I've caught a few glimpes in the cruel pirnce, but I've only finished book 1. Are there any other popular books like that?

Can you sell your lovable app?

Link: https://upik-you-choose.lovable.app/

My friend and I made this app, I had the idea after getting annoyed at going through too many recipes and not having the proper ingredients, basically it gives you recipes based on what you have available in your kitchen. Thats where the name comes from, you pick the ingredients you possess and it gives you recipes. There are other features, but thats the essence of it.

My friends been wondering if we could sell the idea/website, and I wanted to know if that was possible, as we dont technically have this trademarked. If so, can you please tell me how as well as any success stories? If not, please just view our website! I promise its good.
