Yes, I'm bringing this back bc I never got the chance to do it and I apparently have the need for strangers on the internet to make assumptions about me based on the music I listen to 😂

Albums released on this date (5 July)

Hello!!! I'm thinking of starting a new thing here. I hope people find it cool and useful (it is a community of music nerds after all)..if not I guess I won't keep doing it 😂 but tldr for other discord servers every day I compile a list of albums that came out on this date. Albums that are bolded are celebrating milestones ending in 5 or 0 (this year that would be years ending in 1 or 6)

I cross references a variety of sources to compile this list. Do you have a favorite album released on this date? What's your song from your favorite album released today? If you don't have one do you have a particular association with any of these albums or artists?

After nearly 21 years, my entire top 50 is over 1,000 plays!

Just as the title states, I started scrobbling in December of 2005 so this year will mark 21 years I've been on the site and today I got my 50th artist over 1,000 plays!

I really started getting back into last.fm in late 2021 after several years of extremely spotty activity. This came because after years of being exclusively local files I finally got streaming. I thought it would be fun to take a look at the end of each year since and see how many artists I had over the 1K mark at the end of each calendar year (and where they're at now 😂)

*2021 - 15 (Syd Barrett - 1005 scrobbles) - is now #33 with 1,231 scrobbles

*2022 - 16 (Syd Barrett - 1,017 scrobbles) “ “

*2023 - 20 (Koji Kondo - 1,006 scrobbles) is now #19 with 1,843 scrobbles

*2024 - 25 (Belle and Sebastian - 1,032 scrobbles) is now #34 with 1,223 scrobbles

*2025 - 40 (Donovan - 1,008 scrobbles) is now #46 with 1,034 scrobbles

*2026 Jun 21 - 50 (Dusty Springfield - 1,000 scrobbles) n/a

Here's to top 100 over 1k in 2030? 😂
